Cute place but about 15-20 minute walk out of town and felt like a ghost town with a very dead atmosphere - despite (apparently) being fully booked, it felt empty. Nobody was around in the evenings and there were no organised evening events, unlike other Mad Monkey hostels. Also, it was very spread out, so it's not social. Dorms weren't the worst, but the beds were very close together (had to side shuffle between them) and the bathrooms had people items strewn over them (e.g., blood-stained bikini in the shower for 4 days, owner probably left before I even arrived). Showers also didn't get very warm. For 1 night, it would do the job but I wouldn't recommend staying longer and do not expect it to be like a Mad Monkey hostel. I do want to say, though, that the ladies at reception were great :)

Best hostel ever ! They have activities every day. It was so easy to meet people. The staff was so nice and friendly ! Clean and confortable rooms. I would definitely come again and i already miss it

A brilliant hostel. Max, Peter and Sam are phenomenal reps and make the events a great experience. There’s an event on every evening. They also give advice on popular spots around Pai to travel to and see. The rooms are nice with good A/C, there’s a bar serving food - both local and western. I really enjoyed my stay here and will be back if I’m ever in Pai again.

This Mad Monkey has been the best one we’ve stayed at in all our travels. The reps are the best and so helpful and friendly and fun, Peter Max and Christian are amazing! The staff are so sweet and I love Arm and Kong! Rooms are great with awesome A/C and comforters:)) definitely recommend!!

Stay here if you want to have an amazing social time in pai!!! Before this I had always avoided mad monkey but I took a chance on this hostel and it completely changed my mind. The accommodation itself was great but especially the events really helped create a great social vibe. Special shout-out to Peter, Max and Sam for putting in the extra effort to make sure everyone is having a great time.

The hostel itself has a nice vibe and the workers are social and friendly. You can really see that they put a lot of effort in engaging with people in the activities. The room itself was was clean, however people left their stuff everywhere (including food and beers) so the entire room was a mess. The bathroom is very dirty with again peoples clothes everywhere and during my shower I stood on a cockroach. After the tipsy tubbing expect many people to throw up in the bathroom which you can hear from the bedroom. During one of the heavy storms it also started to leak in the bathroom. Except for the dorms there is not really a good place to relax and cool down in the hostel. The communal areas are outside and have no roof, so you cannot sit there when it is raining.

The beds are very comfortable with heavy duvets also. Great to meet other people while not being as crazy as other mad monkey hostels. Frankie is a brilliant rep and a wonderful asset to the hostel. She made everyone including me feel so welcome and she would go out of her way to get information or help the guests.

Classic mad monkey vibes! But not as popular of a location as Pai has many older more known backpacker hostels.

My friend and I went to Pai on a whim. We had heard of Mad Monkey, and decided to book in for a night. What an awesome experience. It was New Years day and as we arrived we met Danny and Eline, who could not have been more welcoming!! They were both such great Hosts, they were genuinely warm and caring after a very long drive from Chian Mai and set up a great Movie Night! The booking office was also very kind and helpful. Overall it was a great visit and will definitely come back in the future. Thanks guys for the great time! 💜 Mad Monkey

Danny and Aleena are awesome reps, I stayed in the Mad Monkey in Chiang Mai a few months back and decided to re visit Aleena in Pai this Jan. Makes all the difference where you stay with the atmosphere the reps create. Great beds, themed nights and fire shows 👌🏼👌🏼

Absolutely loved my stay here!! The staff were all incredible and super friendly. Huge shout out to Chai, Kong, Nam. Thank you for getting my in involved and teaching me new card games!! And of course massive thank you to Georgia, who smashed the evening activities every night and got everyone involved. Definitely will be coming back ❤️

Really good hostel, nice place to meet up with new people. Clean and nice houses to stay in. There's lots organized from the hostel as well.
