I joined a 5ish hour / 1 day trekking tour about an hour away from town center. It was the 2nd day for a group that had trekked the day before and slept one night in the local village. We were a group of about 15, in my opinion we were a great size. It was easy to get along with a group of people who have a similar interest in activities. I thoroughly enjoyed the trek and was very challenged by all that was required for us to do. I had asked the tour company to show me pictures of the tour before booking it, but the pictures don’t do it justice. This particular one was very challenging, in a great way! But I highly recommend checking with whoever you book that it’s within your physical abilities. It could be a difficult level for people who have just walked on flat surfaces in the past, including myself. There are uphill and downhill parts to it that could be dangerous if you’re not fit, or just clumsy. Climbing up and down giant rocks and tiny rocks that could make you slip. Don’t get freaked, just be prepared and plan accordingly with the right gear and focus. We had some great views of terrains, bamboo forests, and a beautiful cave. I was told that the vantage point views were better the day before than the 2nd day, so maybe consider doing a 2 day hike if you can. The guides John and Tiger were friendly and great. We were safe and taken care of the entire time. There were lots of breaks, if we ever wanted to take a break they were always cool with it. We walked until we reached a waterfall where some people went in with bathing suits and refreshed from the sweaty and stinky trek. A large of bottle of water and lunch was included. I had booked it directly through the tour company located right in town center, and they had given me a list of things I needed to bring such as bathing suit, bug repellent, sun screen, hiking shoes etc... I heard from some people who booked through their hostel that they were not given a list, so just get in touch with the company directly if you need to make sure. You will sweat and you will get bitten, and you will have a great time! So be prepared for a memorable experience. I highly recommend it!

My partner and I did a two day one night trekking adventure. We enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend it! We did about 11km on the first day and 13km on the second. Bring sun cream, a hat, decent shoes, and a jacket for night time. They provided water and meals. Bring some cash for the village shop if you want a coke or a beer. (+) Great and knowledgeable guide (hey Jacko!), easy to book, amazing views, and a good pace for trekking. (-) Lunch was basic but breakfast and dinner were very good. Our stay in the village was also very basic but we were prepared for that; your back might be sore but it's only one night. If you haven't done hiking before or have small kids this *might* be a bit much in difficulty and length. Some parts of the trail had a lot of gravel and were slippery going down, while others were dusty and slippery going up, especially without decent footwear.

Top agency for trekking with great manager and staff. They only recruit local people from mountain tribes for their expertise and knowledge. If you want adventures and local experience, go for it!

Poor planning and carelessness is what our kayaking trip was all about. With the exception of the first 2 hours of kayaking through the beautiful nature preserve, everything about Pai Adventure’s planning seemed negligent and reckless. We were told nothing about the 2.5 hour back-of-the-truck ride on some of the gnarliest windy roads north of Pai just to the river put in. We were promised a “lunch” that ended up being a sad mound of rice. We were told we would be on the river for 4-5 hours which ended in a 9 hour river float where we pulled our boats out of the water in the dark. Our guide was hardly a guide as he was constantly out of sight and hardly spoke any English. I would not recommend going on the kayaking tour if any of these things don’t suite you.

I went with pai adventures on 1 day rafting. Very good value for money, it really took the entire day (7am - 8pm). Very friendly and accommodating staff, great knowledge about the region and the forest, we saw gibbons 😊 good food. I fell overboard and the guide pulled me back on board with one skilled move. Highly recommend!

We had a super bad experience with Pai Adventures! Firstly, there was no response for weeks to our inquiries online until we reached them by phone. They confirmed that we could come and book our 2 day trek just 1 day ahead and we were talking about a specific date. Once we arrived in Pai we headed to the office to pay for our trek just to find out that it wasn't available. However, it was not only this that made our experience so bad but the way the staff was talking to us being extremely rude & unhelpful. I'd avoid this agency with all cost. They offer exactly the same stuff as everyone else plus the incredibly bad customer service.

We just came back from a 2-day trek and we enjoyed it so much! The nature during the hike was beautiful, the small village to sleep was authentic and all the meals were very good! Our funny guide Paul guided us through the nature and explained the things we passed. Really worth to do a several day trek with this organization!

Such an amazing rafting trip! Still can't believe how cheap the trip is with the quality you receive! Everything was amazing from the gear to the guides! You can tell the owners put their heart and soul into creating these experiences & they never disappoint! There was a very good balance of being safe and having tons of fun! The cliff jump was my favorite part because I'm afraid of heights and the guide was very calm and inspiring which helped me conquer my fear! It did rain but honestly that made it even better! There were even times when we could jump out the boat and float down the river! The guides were top notch and we all felt totally safe in their capable hands! Highly recommend!

This is an absolute ‘don’t miss’ kind of activity to do in Pai! We did the 1 day white water rafting with this company and we loved every second of it! Our tour guide Jako told us a lot about the jungle and the animals that lived there. We went in rainy season so the river was quite rough, which made it even more fun!! I would totally recommend!

My partner and I did an overnight hike with Jaco the best guide ever. What an amazing experience. The hiking was tough but very satisfying and Jaco made fantastic food. We were so lucky to stay by a beautiful waterfall and enjoy camping by the river. This was by far our favourite thing in all of Thailand.

We did the rafting with Pai Adventures. It was a bit expensive, but worth it! The guide was great and the tour was adventures. If you are in doubt if 45km is too long, no it isn't ;). Also, the owner is a great guy! He invented something like xtubing which we want to try as well later on.

i went rafting today and it was amazing! everything was perfectly planned out for us. the fried rice at noon was delicious! the guide was very helpful, communicated well and also made sure we were safe. i would recommend to bring some money with you to buy snacks or a drink at the pitstop. the views from the car were also beautiful and made the time go by even faster. i would definitely recommend it; the perfect day activity.

We had a amazing day with Pai adventures rafting on the river. Jon our guide was awesome, so much fun. Although it was a whole day rafting, it wasn't too much paddling and was a good mix of rapids and cruising. We got to jump off a 7 metre high rock and float down the river was a highlight. Also enjoyed watching the videos and photos taken by our guide afterwards.

We didnt stop at any Gibbon sanctuary to feed apes, although the website says you will do that. The water was super calm, so all we basically did was ride a watertaxi for 8 hours. The nature was beautiful but the whole 'rafting' experience was super underwelming, took way too long (3 hours would be more than enough) and was definitely not worth 1800 bath.

We did the 2-day tour with trekking and rafting. The tour was really great and we had a really good time far away from all the touristy hustle in Pai. Great to explore the beautiful nature around Pai.

What a fantastic experience! We did the 2 days trekking and 1 day rafting. It is a good combination because the trek is pretty hard and you can enjoy the last day in the water swimming and rafting! We really want to thank the wonderful team! Our guide John was really the best! He helped us when we wanted to change our plan and he was so nice. You will get also much information about the area and local people. On the way you will get stunning views over the mountains and farm fields. The caves and waterfalls were beautiful as well. Thank you John for your patience and peptalks sometime!! All the staff work so hard to let you feel comfortable. Also thank you to the helper and the amazing people in de tribe village. The food is really good and tasty! It was so nice to spend the night in a authentic village and enjoy the beautiful nature. Thank you AST for giving us so much pleasure and fun during the rafting! At last I want to thank the office in Pai for all the clear explanations and helping us to make the adventure work for us! Pen, you are amazing! Really recommended if you want a real adventure with beautiful views in the mountains and forest! The staff is super friendly and they do everything to make you feel happy! It was amazing!

The one day rafting trip was a great experience and good value for money. It was impressive to raft through the deep jungle, see wildlife and hot springs. Just be prepared to spend a total of 5hrs in the back of a truck (not a minivan, due to the jungle path we had to drive). If you are planning to travel to Mae Hong Son you can save the ride back to Pai by just staying where the rafting ends (near MHS).

What a great 2-day tour hiking and rafting. Especially the overnight stay in a homestay in a small village was very memorable. The guides were nice and it was really away from all the tourists!

We did the multi day trekking with Pai Adventures and it was a better experience than we could have asked for! Rugged nature, mountains, rural villages, fields, jungle, an absolutely incredible guide who let us us in his house in his rural village. Very easy to organise everything with Pai Adventures too. Couldn't recommend more highly. Our guide Jacko was a highlight of the trip. His knowledge of the trees, animals, plants, area history and people history was insightful. He was also very funny and gave us some nature made souvenirs as well as edible berries we found along the way. His cooking was also delicious! The trek was tough being steep up and down mountains faces but completely worth it, and enough time in the day to go at whatever pace you need to complete the journey. The only tip we would add, would be to bring ear plugs and eye mask for sleeping at night in the village. Being a village, there's lots of animal and human noises all night!

We had a great experience with guide Jako! He was very open about his village, culture and family! We learned a lot about the lahu People, the jungle and different plants. We did a trekking and rafting with him and enjoyed it a lot.

These guys are very approachable, friendly and helpful. The trips are extremely great value for money. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go on our trip we booked due to illness and had to cancel. They totally understood and refunded us. 5 stars from me as from a customer service point of view, they were excellent.

Since the river was low, we did kayaking instead of rafting. I think the overall adrenaline was a bit lower than the rafting, since I've never done rapids by my own steering it added some extra fun challenge. Super friendly and helpful guide, Paul, showed us everything along the river and took some great photos. My only advice is maybe take some gravol/dramamine before the drive there and back. I'm not prone to motion sickness, but after 90 minutes of windy, then bumpy roads were a test of the stomach.. But I guess that's how you get away from it all!
