We booked to stay here for 3 nights. Our first night stay we enjoyed. The location was good as well as the atmosphere. The only thing we felt was that a lot of people had been staying a long time and it felt clicky. There was also a strong smell of cat urine coming from the sofa area but at the bar it was fine. On returning after a day out on the second night our private room had leaked and completely soaked a lot of our stuff. Including souvenirs and books (lucky the gadgets and passports were fine). The staff had pulled all our stuff out the room. The staff offered to wash all of the stuff that was wet. They also gave the offer of our last 2 nights being free or a refund and to go somewhere else. We decided to move rooms and stay for a further 2 nights. On asking for our refund they noted they had paid for us to stay across the road. After some back and forth they agreed to refund us for the nights. Although they completed this I felt some hostility from the staff when asking for an item that went missing. It made us not want to hang around at the hostel anymore. The room across the road was good and we managed to sleep for our further 2 nights well.

EASILY the best hostel I've stayed in in Thailand. Amazing staff and perfect location just outside town. Cannot recommend it enough if you're in Pai.

Very rude staff, especially the blond British guy from the reception who was extremely rude to me and my friend! Don't book this hostel! We called the number from their website and booked a room. When we got there, the guy told us there was no reservation and that he doesn't know whose number is on the website. We tried to explain who we called and he said it's not his problem and that he doesn't know or care because he is fully booked. Then we called again that number and then the reception was called by their boss to confirm our booking. But they booked us a room in a completely different hostel, which we weren't aware of and which the blong guy rudely refused to show on google (because it didn't exist). He was like "why do you ask me, I don't know just google it!". We told him we don't like that he is rude to us and he was trying to gaslight us to blame us. What an ugly personality he had! It doesn't hurt to be kind!

10/5 Stars, I extended my stay here twice, and if it wasn't for my visa running out I would do it again. Amazing staff that come out with you on a night out and will play a game of pool at the hostel. Can not wait to come back.

Best hostel in Pai hands down. Lovely staff and the vibes are good, social without being a crazy party. Brian who works the desk is super helpful. Owner Em is a total badass. I expect this will be the spot to go in Pai for a long time.

Such a great hostel! From the moment I arrived I was welcomed and shown around by Ryan who was the most helpful and informative hostel worker I've ever had the pleasure of meeting whether it was general advice he was giving or info about any questions I had! Em makes the dopest playlists I've heard in any hostel I've ever stayed which made it easy to extend from 3 to 9 nights! Chilled couches are a good spot to meet people + the bonus of a pool table!

very kind staff, very connecting and friendly atmosphere, easy to make friends. If you want to connect with people and make Party it’s perfect for you! If you want a quiet time for yourself maybe not the best one, but also areas to chill

It is a very social hostel. They have a nice lobby with sofa. People where hanging out there during the day, so it was easy to connect. Also, they organize activities like a quiz night. The rooms and restrooms were nice and clean. It was a bit cold at night, but I got an extra blanket, so slept very well.

Very disappointed with this hostel. First off, my reservation was canceled by the owner when I had contacted her asking her not to. The dorm rooms were all full, so I had to move to a private room that was significantly more expensive and wasn't offered any form of discount. The private room itself was very old, dirty, and outdated with absolutely ROCK HARD beds. Worst I've ever had in a hostel. The room had an ac unit, but an hour into my stay, a staff member came up to my room and said I needed to pay extra each night to use it and took the remote away. I wasn't told this on check in, and spent the whole stay in a cooking hot room. There were also chickens in the very dirty and industrial yard, and the rooster called the entire time. I couldn't sleep for more than a half hour before being woken up by it, even with noise canceling headphones. Save yourself a terrible stay and avoid this hostel!

Wonderful place to relax and unwind. Great service with comfortable amenities. Clean and welcoming to all travellers, whether staying the night or for longer periods. Has a friendly bar with a laid-back feeling, allowing patrons to unwind and enjoy refreshments and the atmosphere. Staff are a mine of information and are happy to assist with requests from tourists and travellers.

We originally planned to stay for 2 night which were amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful, joined in with activities and hosted a lot of fun games and quizzes throughout our stay. My boyfriend got food poisoning on the day we were meant to check out but they offered us a home stay which was great, even gave us a lift there and helped us with our bags. Rooms were clean and great facilities with table tennis, pool, full kitchen with hobs, microwave etc. Would definitely recommend staying here

Nice and chill hostel. But also sometime there is a special night with drinking game. Love the mattress and the blanket, i dont feel like sleeping on the floor like in most of hostel bed. LOVEEE the blanket super comfy! At least in my room. The only downside, there is no free smoking area. I can understand if it at the bar but even at the quite area sometime people smoking around and as a non smoker I am struggling to chill outside. But still recommend the hostel to people for the good vibe 🤙🏽

Great hostel for solo backpackers! Lots of people from all around the world. Bug and spacious communal area with many areas with benches and tables, a big lounge with sofas and a TV, dining table plus free pool and ping pong tables. Great place to socialize and meet people but also quiet after the evening. Special mention to Pedro, what a great caring guy. He was always talking to guests, giving advice about the area and taking everyone out for the night. Stayed a couple of nights due to availability but kept coming back afterwards to hangout with the people because of the calm vibe it had.

Girlfriend and I had a great time here. Super chill owner and great hired-on backpacker staff. Not in the main 3x3 blocks but not far away from it! Good party atmosphere and connections, but not loud if you want to crash early.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. The private room we stayed in was clean and spacious. The bed and sheets/ comforter were comfy and the AC worked great to cool us down after days in the heat. The gathering locations and social atmosphere are ideal for travelers.

Great hostel! I stayed there for 3 nights and slept really well. The communal bathroom is rather clean and spacious. Common areas are small but convivial, had some great nights playing drinking game / Jenga and going out afterwards with everyone ! The staff was really friendly and helpful. It's a little 15 minutes to get to the walking street, but the walk is quite pleasant (if you walk on the side streets). Good value for money for sure !

This place is such a gem. It’s secluded enough away from Pai city center where it’s quiet but close enough where it’s only an 10 min walk to walking street. The owner Em is a sweetheart and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in the upstairs suite and found it to be relaxing and comfortable. Good AC.

Amazing stay at Happy House, the staff were very friendly and helpful. What made this place so nice was the other traveller's. Everyone was social and looking for opportunities to hang out and do fun things together. I will definitely be back!

Em was a wonderful host! Very kind and caring. Very cool punk feel. Rooms were cozy and felt sturdy. Tasty drinks too! In rainy season, the room felt damp, but the AC helped a ton.

Ryan on the desk was so helpful at showing us what to do in Pai and giving us advice. Fun hostel which is really social but not loud so you can get a good nights sleep. Bathrooms are pretty clean and showers were powerful but some didn’t have hot water. Just a really fun vibe, not too far out of town.

Just checked out after a 3-night stay. The rooms were clean & air conditioned, the staff was incredibly helpful and it's only a 7-10 walk to the main street/activity area. Plus, there's basic needs like convenient stores and food stalls a 2 min walk away. The vibe was social and chill and mostly everyone goes out in unofficial groups at night.
