Trained here a few months ago for 2 months. Best experience of my life. I’ve learned here so much. The thing that I immediately noticed is that there is a special vibe. You definitely have to see and train at CharnChai yourself. See you soon again!

I started training Muay Thai four years ago at Charn Chai and since that experience I’ve always been itching to come back. This gym is part of the reason I’ve fallen in love with the sport. Nothing beats the community and the training is suitable for beginners and active fighters alike. If you want to get a solid foundation, improve your fitness or sharpen your skills this is the perfect place!

Where to begin... I can't recommend Charn Chai enough!! After quitting my job, I needed to challenge myself physically and mentally and therefore travelled to Thailand to train Muay Thai for a month. Having no previous experience with Muay Thai, I was a bit intimidated and didn't know exactly what to expect. Charn Chai made me feel welcome from day one. EXCELLENT trainers, who make you to feel like they genuinely care about your progress and well-being. Days where I missed training sessions due to exhaustion, the trainers would ask why I didn't show and if I was OK or there was anything they could do. From what I understand from other people training at Charn Chai who had been to many different camps around Thailand, this level of care is pretty hard to come by. The sessions are incredibly intense and you will be pushed to your limits and beyond. Trainers are adept at handling beginners, who are put into a beginner group, until they are ready to train with the others (which is after a couple of days). Despite having no experience, I worked with Mr. Bee (the owner and multiple national champion) several times on the pads. I haven't heard of any other gyms, where beginners have that kind of opportunity - amazing! Experienced MT practitioners and fighters have dedicated trainers and follow a more tailored training regime from the rest of the group. Charn Chai is amazing. If you really want to immerse yourself into MT, this is the place to do it!

Just the right mix - I’ve trained at a few gyms around Thailand but I keep coming back to Charn Chai - they’ve got the balance between serious training and having fun. The trainers and other students will push you to train hard, but also very happy to joke around and have a laugh, enjoying the process with you. There’s a lot of conditioning work, so suits those just wanting to up their fitness, and the more experienced wanting to get the extra edge. It’s a great place to meet like minded travellers and to be treated like family by the staff. On each visit I’ve made some lasting friendships. An easy 5 stars.

I highly recommend this place! I trained there for one month, being total beginner to Muay thai. I can definitely see a progress in technigue as well as in physical condition. The atmosphere is cool, chill, relaxed, but you will get sweat as hell at the same time. 😊 All the trainers are nice and experienced. Everyone is ready to help with everything and the main "office and reception manager" Steven is super friendly and ready to give you advice about Pai life! Dont think too much and try it, everyone is welcome there. 😊 Tom from the Czech republic

A wonderful place. The trainers can adapt their teaching to your level. Beginners are really well taken care of and experienced people can improve themselves as they wish. Trainers give you the motivation push to yourself everyday and are the nicest people I have ever met. I have never regretted a single training session during two months there. If you are looking for a highly experienced Muay Thai gym with a family atmosphere in an magnificent region, this is the place. For me, it's my little paradise on earth !!

I arrived at Charn Chai as an absolute beginner, zero experience in any martial art, not particularly athletic and very anxious as to how well I will be able to keep up. The trainers could not have been more accommodating. The classes are a large mix of both absolute beginners and people that fight on TV, but you never feel intimidated everyone is so friendly. The trainers just want to help you get better and will push you as hard as you want to be pushed, whether you want to train to fight or just want to train for fitness. I started my month anxious as to how it would go, and I finished my month wanting to stay for another. Highly highly recommend this camp to any person beginner or otherwise. Couldn't be a more friendly place to train and the trainers are the best! Thanks Charn Chai! I will be back!

Great traditional Muay Thai workout. Really enjoyed the circuit, trainers focussed 1on1 with technique. 350 bhat for 2 hour session - trainers are very genuine and friendly. Only thing I would recommend is bring your own water bottle as they don’t have refills available, only a tub of water to dunk a cup into.

I spent 6weeks training here and stayed in the accommodation provided through the gym as well. The level of service that is provided is truly amazing, it’s high quality training with a great atmosphere in the gym. It welcomes complete beginners to professionals and they will 100% be able to accommodate your level!!! I could write all day long about how great the trainers/gym is and how you need to come here. The surrounding area is also beautiful, local shops and restaurants are everywhere along with outstanding natural beauty with waterfalls, hot springs, rice paddy’s……never a boring day in pai ! Best gym I have ever been too and I will 100% be returning here again soon! Thanks a million guys and see you again !

Best gym in Thailand, all the trainers are so friendly and the whole gym is like one big family. It’s very nice to see all levels from beginner to high level professionals. I spent a total of 8 months here and wish I could have stayed longer! They have semi regular BBQ’s on saturday nights too. I had a total of 4 fights here including my first fight. All the coaches couldn't have been more supportive!

I just recently trained at Charnchai gym in Pai for about 10 days and I cannot recommend this place enough!! The trainers, the facilities, the knowledge and experience this place can impart on someone is priceless!! The atmosphere of the gym is very friendly and relaxed, and they will push you mentally and physically to become better as a Muay Thai practician/fighter all the while keeping a playful and enjoyable training environment. Everyone was laughing and enjoying the workouts even though they were very demanding! I really wish I had more time to train and will definitely be coming back here in the future for an extended visit! Loved it! Shout out to Kru Blanco for teaching me a lot of valuable technique and mindset in the private training sessions, and also to Stephen for your help with my time there! And of course every other trainer too! Best gym in Pai and well worth the visit 👊💯💪💪

Charn chai is the best! First time i trained at Charn Chai was in 2014. Stayed for almost 2 months and had the best experience ever. They felt/feel like my muay thai family. Bee and his team are super experienced and good in teaching beginners and intermediates. Wish i could go back for another 2,3 months or even a year😍

Trained at many different gyms for last 3 years in Thailand and charn chai is definitely in my top 3 . All levels from beginner to advanced. Well run class good mix of hard conditioning and technique. Can’t say enough good things about the gym.

I spent a month at charnchai, and loved the experience. Cool mornings and hot afternoons. Hundreds of crunches and kicks every day. Beautiful temple runs and high level Muay Thai instruction. The trainers are friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic. I'd definitely recommend this gym to anyone that is looking for somewhere to go and focus on kickboxing training.

My time at Charn Chai Muay Thai will be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The training at this gym is very intense but extremely fun, regardless of your level of training. Whether you are a beginner attending for a day, or a veteran spending a year at the gym, every single one of the trainers will take you seriously and treat you with the utmost respect. The meal plan offered by the gym is incredible as well. For a much lower price than you will find anywhere in town, the gym will feed you healthy, fulfilling meals after every training session. It is during these post workout meals that you will begin to bond with the other students and get the chance to meet people from around the world. In addition to this, the area of Pai where this gym is located is gorgeous and with no shortage of sights. The town area itself is small, and is a long strip of different bars, restaurants, and street vendors. The small nature of the "town" area is beneficial in that you will run into your fellow gym students often and easily join the community here. The outside area of Pai is filled with gorgeous sights such as waterfalls, caves, and my personal favorite, the Pai canyon (which is a must see at sunset). If you have fears about traveling to attend a Muay Thai gym, I hope this review can put those fears to rest. You will be taken care of and you will be treated well as a student. The culture of the gym and the residents of Pai will give you the opportunity to train hard, and rest and relax for recovery. If you're coming to train Muay Thai and get into incredible shape, Charn Chai is the gym for you.

It’s hard to know where to start in my review of Charnchai. For anyone who loves Martial arts this place is a must-stop in Pai. They offer a family feel, energetic and fun trainers, and last but not least you’ll see speedy improvements in your Muay Thai if you’re willing to put in the work. Take me back!

This gym is amazing! All of the trainers are very knowledgeable and helpful. Even if you only have a day or a week to spend here, I guarantee you will come away with a better practice. Bee and the other trainers do a really good job managing each session while still personalizing instruction and the group classes are so much fun! They also make you feel like family while you’re training here. I will cherish the days I spent training here for years to come and I can’t wait to make it back here again. Thank you to everyone at Charnchai Muay Thai! :)

Very nice trainers who take the time to actually learn you how to do the techniques. They correct small mistakes. The time schedules for the sessions are really nice as well. And above all you have a very good place to sleep about 300 meters away from the gym. Definitely the most fun and one of the best gyms I’ve been to in Thailand

Charn Chai is an amazing place to train Muay Thai. They will teach you from any level, whether you are a beginner or a professional fighter. Their teachers have years of experience both teaching and fighting in the ring. They will make you feel like family and connect you with a genuine community. This is a real gym, not just something for tourists. And it is a chance to experience thai culture on a real level. Absolutely love this place and these people.

I stayed at Charn Chai Muay Thai gym in Pai last summer and had an amazing experience. The gym's surroundings are top-notch and the gym itself has well-maintained equipment and facilities. The accommodation provided is budget-friendly and is only a minute away from the gym, which makes it very convenient. The trainers, particularly Luhrd, were wonderful and truly dedicated to helping me improve on a daily basis. The gym has a strong sense of community and family, making it a great environment for both training and relaxation. I highly recommend Charn Chai to anyone looking for a high-quality Muay Thai gym experience and I am definitely planning to go back this year.

Don’t think it ! Book it ! One of my best experience was at charnchai .. As a beginner and as a girl I felt so much supported by the coaches. Always pushing the best of me out ! Considering your level they try to do them best for your comfort. So if you are a girl…and you are scared… don’t be, go for it 😊 probably would be the proudest things you’ll do in your life ! There are also beautiful stories around this guys who touched me a lot.. They are so friendly ! Thanks Charnchai, I will be back !

Simply not enough room to write all the good things to say about this place. - Vibe is incredible, attracts really awesome people from all over the world. - Trainers are amazing. They spend lots of 1:1 time every class with each student on pads and really make sure to help you at any level. They are fun, keep spirits up after hard trainings, and really look out for you while here. - Steven the glue that holds it all together. If you stay a few weeks, he really makes sure to set you up with everything you need and keeps an eye out to make sure the stay is a memorable experience. There is a reason people come here year after year to train. Really amazing place to stay long term and enjoy Muay Thai! 🤩

I was fortunate to practice muay thai for the first time at Charn Chai Gym. In two weeks my technique, fitness level and mindset improved greatly. Everyday you get to push yourself to the limit. The trainers are skilled, patient and always in for a joke. The atmosphere was great. I would totally recommend to train here! P.S. the Yoga-sessions were great as an addition!

What an incredible experience! Came to Pai to train at Charn Chai for a few weeks with previous knowledge however came home feeling a lot stronger and much better at Muay Thai lol! The trainers are great, it was like one big happy family and they made you feel like you were part of it. We got accommodation and meals provided during our stay and if you’re not fussy then you will enjoy the food, it was good getting a nutritious meal down you after your hard session. Would definitely recommend coming here, and I will also be coming back for sure!

I trained here for 2 months, amazing experience! Made some great friends for life with people training. There’s a big range of people training from Day 1 beginners to professional fighters who compete. I was feeling very anxious about starting as my fitness wasn’t good and I hadn’t trained in a long time, but Steven on the main desk and the trainers are welcoming and are up for a laugh! Thanks to both Muds, luhd, Dim and Peht I managed to lose 16kg! I’ll be back next year!!

My partner and I stayed here last year originally booked for one month but ended up staying for twice as long. Immediately Steven and Mr B made us feel like part of the family. Being a beginner it can be daunting arriving at a new gym however Mr B along with all the other trainers were extremely kind and patient. Additionally my partner who is more experienced found the levels of both technical and physical training to be some of the best he has experienced through out the world. The bbq’s on Saturday's are lit and help students bond with trainers in a casual setting. We loved it so much we are planning on returning and staying for a year in the near future. I could be here all day writing about how amazing each individual coach is and how much I would recommend this gym but I don’t think google will allow it!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 months back in 2019, which was twice as long as both our initial plan and budget could manage however it was entirely worth it. From the get go we felt welcomed and part of the team/family as before we had even settled Mr B came to greet us and show us around the gym and Steven walked us to our house and gave us helpful advise from where to eat to extending our visas. The training was up there with the best i have experience around the world, and for my girlfriend a relative beginner; she found the coaches were very understanding and helpful treating her like family rather than a customer. We loved it so much that upon leaving we immediately changed our plans and began saving money and hope to return in the very near future to stay in Pai and train at Charn Chai for at least another year. i'd want to shout out individual coaches for their time both in training and at the Saturday night BBQs however id end up writing about all of them as they each bring a different vibe and story to the gym. We can't wait to come back and i'd 100% recommend anyone considering visiting to do the same.

My favorite gym in Thailand. Honestly feels like a second home- really lovely family atmosphere, and the boss , Mr Bee iS a really inspiring teacher and all round class guy. He’s there every day and you can learn a lot of technique and he really pays a lot of attention to detail with all the clients about your form and your technique. Love all the trainers 😎 - several of them are still fighting regularly which is great as there’s lots of opportunity to spar and clinch with them. I can’t wait to come back ♥️

  • 5/5 Karoliina A. 3 years ago on Google
Awesome place to train - trainings are challenging and all the trainers are experienced, very good clinch techniques. Gym itself has all the necessary muay thai gym equipment. Could be truly recommended if you’re searching for a place to improve your muay thai, prepare for a fight or just to learn the basics.

I can’t speak highly enough of Charn Chai. I recently spent 6 weeks training and it was incredible. From the very warm welcome, to the excellent training (both for beginners and fighters) to socializing with some amazing people from around the world - the experience surpassed all my expectations. I’ll be back at some point in the future for sure. Thanks again to everyone at Charn Chai.

In Charnchai, Pai you'll definitely have an authentic Muay Thai experience. The moment I stepped in, I felt it is like a big family. They have everything & more in order to level up your skill-set - great gym, friendly vibes & professional trainers. Last but not least, you should take the opportunity to eat proper thai food from gym's kitchen with your training partners after every session. Wish to come back soon!

  • 5/5 Adam A. 3 years ago on Google
I spent a month at Charnchai in 2017 having never tried muay thai before and it was a great place to learn. The trainers are friendly but push you hard when necessary. The food was great and they make a real effort to arrange social activities. But first and foremost they are world class muay thai trainers, having trained at various other places now I realise that starting at charn chai gave me a solid foundation of all the basics and I hope to return in the near future!

I came to pai backpacking and went to a single muay thai class and ended signing up for a month on that first day!! The trainers are amazing the people that are there are awesome and i even went back for another 2 weeks 2 months after i left. I cant wait to get back there. Big ups to mr. Bee, steven, tony, kaew, bang, noom and the rest of the squad the food's pretty good too! I went in as a total beginner and then fought 2 amateur fights after just 4 weeks of training there. It's a serious but fun and empowering training they pushed us hard and made us feel apart of the charnchai family!

Friendliest gym in Thailand, I get down there once a year. They have trainers that can train all levels from beginner to pro . Bee is an awesome head trainer and really funny aswell. And Pai itself is a great area to explore and relax in between training sessions . There is also very cheap accommodation on the same street as the gym. If you want to just train , fight or just learn the basics of muay thai they can meet all requirements. Its a great family like atmosphere. Cant wait to go back

Great gym! Mr Bee (the head trainer/owner) takes care of everybody, and makes sure beginners, casuals and fighters all get the training and guidance they need. You get a lot of technical training from dedicated teachers, and a crazy good workout too. It has a family feel, with English speaking trainers and staff, and they are welcoming to everybody. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to train in Thailand!

I’ve trained in a few gyms over in Thailand, but came recommended to charnchai after several people speaking highly. Great family atmosphere with all the trainers, made to feel at home straight away. When not training there is plenty to do but away from the madness of Thai city’s, sunsets at the canyons and trips to the waterfalls. Pai did not disappoint and felt a month was not enough! Definitely be back 👊🏻

I’ve just passed 4 months training at Charn Chai and I am very eager to continue. The trainers are excellent and are able to help you regardless of your level/previous experience. I came to Charn Chai with almost zero prior experience and I have seen enormous progress which I credit directly to the trainers. In particular, I would like to give a big thanks to Moohin who has spent many hours patiently teaching me. But again, all of the trainers make a big effort to help and create a very friendly atmosphere! Finally if you decide to come to Charn Chai be sure to have a chat with Steven who has been a great source of help and has provided me with invaluable information about training as well as life in Pai. Many thanks guys! Michael

I’ve tried several gyms around Thailand, but this has always been my favourite. I came to Pai for the first time in 2016 to train for 2 weeks, but loved it so much that I ended up staying for more than a month. Then in 2017 I came back for 6 months. And now I’ve been training here since last October. The gym really has this amazing family atmosphere. It doesn’t matter where you are from, how old you are, whether you’re a beginner or professional: everybody is welcome and included. The trainers really care about their students’ progress and will help you with anything that you need. There are trainers who really like to push your cardio limits, and others who like to focus on technique. So you can choose a specific trainer, depending on what you are looking for in your training, or mix it up of course! 😊 Can’t recommend this gym enough!

The best Muay Thai boxing camp I’ve been to in Thailand! I would recommend this place to everyone whether you’re completely new to Muay Thai or you’ve been doing it for years. Everything about this place is great. The trainers make the sessions good fun but at the same time you are constantly being pushed to your limits so you can improve your fitness and technique. There is also a great social atmosphere as everyone is so welcoming and many people stay for a long time meaning you can make great friendships. They organise many social events including BBQ’s and watching local fights. Overall, there is a very friendly vibe and you are welcome with any level of fitness/experience. Definitely go try it out if you’re ever in Pai!

This gym is the best place to learn muay Thai I decided. To tried for one day and stayed for 3 weeks I felt like part of a family where everyone respects and loves each other... The work outs are really hard but it's easier when u do it in a place where u feel at home. Trainers are tough during training but as soon as it's done they really make u feel like a friend. I will comeback for sure and if you are in pai you should try to I brought aLot of ppl that try for a day or 2 and some that stayed for long time too and no one dislike the place everyone loved it. Also it's a way to really learn about the culture of Thailand. Thanks charnchai family for all Ur teachings and good times. Also they have delicious food, shakes, and if I'm not wrong they even rent scooters very cheap
