Lulusar
Lake
is
located
on
Naran-Babusar
Road,
50
km
from
Naran
(around
1
hour
30
minute
drive).
One
can
view
the
whole
lake
right
from
the
road.
Its
a
large
size
high
altitude
lake
(11200
ft
asl)
that
formed
due
to
the
blocking
of
Kunhar
River
sometime
in
remote
past,
roughly
the
same
way
as
Attabad
Lake
in
Hunza
was
formed
in
2010
because
of
the
blocking
of
Hunza
river
due
to
a
huge
landslide.
Kunhar
River
falls
in
to
the
Lulusar
Lake
at
its
northern
end
and
re-emerges
at
the
southern
end.
The
road
in
the
area
is
closed
due
to
snow
fall
from
November-May/June.
The
lake
freezes
during
winter.
Lake
water
is
crystal
clear
as
it
is
more
or
less
a
very
slow
flowing
water
of
Kunhar
Lake.
The
mountains
around
the
lake
are
devoid
of
trees
as
the
lake
is
above
the
tree
line.
There
is
no
habitation
near
the
lake
though
a
couple
of
small
kiosks
do
exist
that
can
provide
drinks
and
snacks.
