This place has nothing to do with Ukraine. It is a Russian restaurant which steals some of the Ukrainian food items (looting and stealing is Russian favorite thing to do anyways). Pelmeni, pirogi, salads with mayonnaise such as Olivier and Shuba are NOT and have never been Ukrainian. Just like “kalinka”, “matrioshka” and other stuff you could see in this place. Assimilation of Russian and Ukrainian food and use “Ukrainian” just to make it look more appealing is so morally bankrupt, especially in times of illegal war waged by Russia in Ukraine. Shame!

Really tasty and homemade Ukrainian/Russian food. Menu is rather small but has the main, typical dishes. We both had soups, very yummy. Also had the roasties and a salad. For dessert tasty vareniki with cherries. We sat outside but the inside is decorated like home. Highly recommend!

My first time to try Russian food, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. My Russian best friend took me there, so I had faith that her selection would be authentic. Had the stuffed cabbages for my main course and it was delicious and filling. Tried the Olivier salad and another one with fish; both were delicious. Would highly recommend this place.

well, where do I begin... tired of European style of food, we wanted something more familiar and tasty... so we looked up a Ukrainian spot and Kalinka was the closest to our location. The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you've been transported to a charming corner of Eastern Europe. The borsch was a revelation - rich, flavorful, and simply delicious. And the Chicken Kiev Cutlets? Oh my goodness! They were the highlight of the evening - tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. It's clear that the chefs here know their stuff. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and they knew their menu inside and out. The ambiance of KALINKA is worth mentioning too. The rustic decor and beautiful Ukrainian artwork created the perfect backdrop for our meal. It felt like we were dining in a charming little cottage.

The bad reviews are all from clowns. This place is fire. Must go. The food we ate was super fresh and seasoned amazingly well. We had salat Kalinka, burrata, the pelmeni, the blini with red caviar and butter, and draniki which were crispy outside and super soft inside. Dessert was tea, and medovik cake which was the best I can remember. To add the cherry to the top there was live music by a very talented artist. Played the piano, accordion, balalaika and the flute. You should go, and see for yourself. Great service and food. Thank you!

Had a delightful experience at Zalinka, the Russian restaurant in the heart of the 9th. Perfectly located, the borscht was a standout – truly delicious! Discovered a variety of authentic Russian and Ukrainian dishes. The friendly and unassuming welcome added to the charm. A great find for anyone craving a taste of Russia and Ukraine, all in a convenient and welcoming setting. Highly recommend!

The part of the city this restaurant was locates in made my husband and I question if we should go but we had already taken a long taxi ride to it so we figured we might as well. They didn't have baby seats so we had to have our baby sit in the booth style seat with us however it worked fine. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the borscht, pelmini soup, beef stroganoff and chicken Kiev. The portion sizes were just right and we would go again.

Great place to eat and just hang out The borscht was good. I didn't like the sour cream I didn't like the Chicken Kyiv, either because of the cheese, I don't know why. But the mashed potatoes and salad were excellent

The quality of the food is OK. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. However, the prices are high. I believe with a bit more effort and a bit more attention to details this could be a nice place to visit.

We had a wonderful experience at Kalinka. Food was great - rich and authentic. Borscht was spot on! Lots of little details to make it more pleasurable. And there was fellow that came to play music on the piano which just added more flavor to the experience. Just a great time!
