Great bbq for the price! The portions were generous and the food was good. We tried the z man sandwich with beef brisket and it had onion rings and cheese and pickles and I loved it. The bun was good and the brisket was cooked well. We also had the pulled pork sandwich and again the bun was tasty and the meat portion was generous. Nice choice of sauces. The ones available at the table were delicious - one sweet and one spicy. I would have liked to see burnt ends on the menu. I would definitely go back and the service was prompt and the restaurant was clean.

This place is awesome, we were visiting from out of town, we got the Z-man! Oh it’s so good, I am from Texas, and this was good BBQ! The sauce is very very good, the “hot bbq” is good, has good flavor. For a Texan, it’s not really spicy, but still very good. The Z-man is so good, meat is perfect, onion rings and cheese are great compliments to the BBQ. Get there early cause the line gets long quick! My Son loved it, he never likes the BBQ sandwiches in Texas and loved this one! Gonna come back one day!

There is something to be said for consistency and I can honestly say that in my many years of visiting Joe's KC BBQ I have never once had a bad meal there. The BBQ is often held up as "best in the city" and that title is deservedly earned. I would say the ribs are the standout here and would put them up against anyone in the city. The "Z-Man" sandwich is also great. With an enormous side of fries, you will not leave this place hungry. No matter what type of meat you like, you will find something to your liking at Joe's.

Mine my not be a very popular opinion, but I am going to call a chain a chain. Joe’s might have great food at the original location(maybe) but when you are mass producing what are supposed to be long smoked and complexly flavored meats, you are going to take short cuts. It’s clear this location, at least, does. The meats were overly fatty and lacked any of the complex flavors and crispness you find in great BBQ. Toast was dry and bland and the coleslaw and red beans & rice were quite disappointing. Do yourself a flavor and visit one of KC’s other, more original BBQ places that caters to smaller crowds with better taste!

When visiting family in town, we ALWAYS stop at this bbq restaurant! They NEVER let us down! Z-Man is what hubby gets and I love their brisket sandwiches. We were too hungry therefore didn’t get a chance to take pictures before eating! 🤪

This is hands-down the best place for a Kansas City BBQ! As long as you get here early enough, you WILL NOT have to wait in an enormously long line. In my opinion, they’ve got the VERY best fries and BBQ sauce. As soon as you receive your order, they make sure to get you some! Highly recommend this location out of the three.

Delicious food and the line moved fast despite being long! It was smart to separate the ordering from the cashier to keep the line moving. The employees were nice and I liked the layout of the restaurant.

Great atmosphere, awesome food. They're super busy (because it's so good) so prepare. The line goes pretty quick and they have a very good system for pumping out food, but when the foods this good, there's going to be a wait (and it's worth it!)

Yes I know Joe's is known for pork, ribs and brisket but.... give their chicken a shot. It is outstanding for a BBQ change of pace. Overall a great experience, good selection of sides and fast service.

I have always liked Joe's BBQ. This is the first time I have come to this location but the food was still awesome! Had the rocket pig and it was great as usual. If you get a chance to swing by make sure you do, you won't regret it. The staff is also nice. They move you thru pretty quick but they are still very nice.

I was a little worried seeing a line out the door and I had a 2 year old and 9 month old BUT I am so glad I did! It was about 25 minutes in line and we had our food. Finding a table was easy! We sat and met the sweetest people in line so the line was such a fun time :) we ordered burnt ends and were in love! We also had ribs that were really good and amazing dirty rice! And super yummy corn! The ribs were good but I thought the burnt ends were better. They have tons of high chairs so you don’t have to hunt one down. My kids happily ate so I can’t be anymore happy! We will be back!

We had to make a stop at KC Joe's while traveling from WI to TX. Love that they've opened additional locations. We walked right in, got our food and a table immediately during lunch hour. Food was superb and as good as the original location. Hard to pass up on the ribs, but the Chicken Z-Man was fantastic and worth every extra dime.

Holy smokes. I decided to try this restaurant since everyone I encountered recommended. The Chicken “Z-man sandwich” was so delicious. I did not expect how good it was! I had the potato salad, banana cream pie and a margarita. I’m not one to really enjoy Banana cream pie or BBQ but I really loved my meal. The sauce in the Z-Man sandwich was so good and it completed the fried onion rings nicely. The lady and the register was so friendly, she introduced herself and welcomed me to Kansas. All the staff seemed to nice! I highly recommend giving this place a try.

I thought this place was pretty good barbecue. Not the best but pretty good. Seemed a little but "chainish" and not as authentic as some but still pretty decent. I was from out of town and was visiting and when I travel I like to try different restaurants. I would recommend this place the food was good. As I travel around the country for work I try a lot of different barbecue places though so I'm a bit picky when it comes to barbecue. Food and service were good though and I didn't have to wait long for my order so that is always appreciated

I've tasted barbecue all over the country! I'm a hobbyist barbecue or myself. This is without a doubt some of the best I've had aside from a good old shack or food truck on the side of the road LOL. Enjoyed it!!

Great food! Busy place. I ordered the lunch burnt end plate with Mac and cheese, my husband ordered the one meat dinner, turkey with baked beans. The only complaint he had were the texture of the onions in the beans. They had a lot of flavor otherwise. Mac and cheese was great. A little smokey, and creamy. It came out piping hot. I gave my husband a little heck for ordering turkey but soon ate my words, it was delicious, tender, smokey, sliced thin. The burnt ends were very tender. Sauces were great. Husband wished they had a hotter one. I thought they were pretty sweet, but had a lot of flavor to balance it out.

Great atmosphere, food came out fast and it was worth the $18. I got the Jumbo Rocket Pig with a side of spicy slaw. You can never go wrong with fried jalapenos. I'll stop again next time I'm in KC.

If you are looking for amazing BBQ in Kansas City, look no further than Joe's KC. Everything is amazing. I recommend their burnt ends, Carolina pulled pork, and Z-man the most. The best side they have are their fries. One order can cover 2 people. If you have a vegetarian friend with you they have a portobello mushroom version of the Z-man. All are truly welcome.

AMAZING BBQ. Arrived for lunch shortly after they opened on a Wed and the line was out the door! It was about a 15 to 20min wait. After ordering, the food was ready in like 2 mins - very fast. I got the brisket sandwich (the one with cheese and onion rings on top) with sides of mac and cheese and red beans and rice. The brisket was very tasty and I would rate the mac and cheese higher than the red beans, but it was all great. The atmosphere was nice, the staff was friendly and I would definitely wait in line again to get another meal. 5 stars! Don't miss this place if you are in town.

To Go order. Well packed, plenty of pickles, sauce and glorious smoked meat!! RIBS ARE THE GO TO ORDER!!!! Brisket is sliced too thin for my liking but to each their own. Burnt ends and sausage were good but maybe would be great if eaten in house. Definitely worth every cent!

This is one of the best BBQ spots I’ve tried. The portions are massive and the flavors are amazing! I got the Rocket Pig and a side of Mac and Cheese. The jalapeños on the sandwich made for a spicy, yet tasty, bite. Also loved the seasoning they added to the Mac n cheese. Oh and the onion rings are top notch. You will not leave here hungry or unsatisfied!

KC Joes is the best of the best! Z-man with Turkey is my very favorite but they know what they are doing on the smoker so make sure you stop here on your bbq tour!

Food was decent. Burnt ends were the best. Brisket, ribs and pulled pork were also good. If I had to pick the least flavorful it was the sausage. Baked beans were good. The creamy coleslaw had little flavor

Have been twice now (both times drove about 4 hours to get there!) and it is well worth the trip. Easily the best burnt ends I have ever had, melts like butter in your mouth. Mac and cheese is scrumptious. I'm looking forward to my next visit! Staff was super friendly, don't be afraid if there is a line, it moves at light speed, even if there looks to be about 50 people in front of you.

Bigger than original location, with food just as good as original location. Smells amazing walking in the door, and Pepsi products to boot. Pulled pork and ribs are fantastic, brisket is pretty good--thin-sliced and pink on the edges, but it doesn't have the candied outside like Texas brisket, just fyi. Mac and cheese is cheddary, and the fries are big enough for 2 to share. Take-out is available.

Tender, juicy brisket and burnt ends. Salt needed, but otherwise very good, smokey flavor.

Great food, friendly people. All around a great meal. KC BBQ is definitely at the top of my list now.

Tried the brisket, sausage, and burnt ends. The sausage was not good at all. The brisket had little flavor but the burnt ends were good. The original sauce is tasty. Not impressed with the slaw but the potato salad is average. First time here. It’s an average bbq restaurant.
