Nothing special about this place. My crunchy tacos meat was bland and dry. My son liked his quesadilla and I thought the salsa and chips were good. Would not come here again.

I enjoyed everything about this place down to the food, to the service, to the cleanliness, to the cost of the meal! This place is a great place to dine. I highly recommend you try The Don'Key Mexican Restaurant. You can thank me later. 🤗

I have know about this place for what seems like forever and just never stopped in. To start the customer service was stellar. The chips & salsa were on point, very good flavor with just a bit of spice. The seating was comfortable with indoor and outdoor options. Appetizers: Chile Con Queso. 8/10 Creamy melted cheese with peppers. Had the large order with taco meat and there was none left at the end, really good queso. Entrees: Tacos Clásicos (3). 7/10 Crispy or soft tacos with your choice of taco beef or shredded chicken — topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese. Served with rice and beans. We had the crispy tacos and they were great, the meat was seasoned nicely with just the right amount of salt. Fish Tacos (2). 9/10 Your choice of fried or grilled fish, jalapeño ranch, shredded cabbage, fresh mango pico de gallo and lime. Grilled Shrimp Option as well. Served with rice and beans. My son had the crispy fish tacos and he said they were to die for. Nachos Supreme. 6/10 Crispy tortilla chips loaded with taco beef and shredded chicken, refried beans, chili gravy, chile con queso and melted cheeses. Served with sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños. I ended up trying the nachos with a mix of beef and chicken fajita. Overall they were decent. They are piled high and the majority of the nachos are soggy but at the same time they were really good. The rice was fair but the refried beans have a strange flavor. I eat a ton of beans and I can say I have never tasted refried beans like these. They weren’t horrible but left me wondering what they used for the seasoning. This place is better than a lot and deserves at least a a visit if you are in the area.

First time here! Kristen, our waitress, was very knowledgeable about the menu and we ordered based off her recommendations. Nice atmosphere for a family dining or a business meeting, as I was there for.

Very delicious & colorful. The manager or owner helped us feel secure that our food would be prepared carefully, as we had a couple of allergies we were worried about. The word could have smiled once, but the orders were correct. The restaurant is delightful. Seems clean & tended. There is even a special windowed room where we can watch a pretty lady freshly make tortillas. The servings are each enough for 2 people. If you don't share, there'll be leftovers. I'd love to make this place a favorite on my list.

Let me first start by saying I went on Cinco De Mayo! Food was good. The nachos were my favorite. We did the shot with the worm! The festivities were cool but the shot itself was TERRIBLE. 12/10 do not recommend. The atmosphere was loud. We had to yell to talk to each other. The service was not great but gave a pass because they were very busy.

The food was tasty. The chips and salsa were great. We enjoyed the cheese enchiladas, tamales, and chicken tacos with queso. For 4 people it was a little pricey. But, that seems to be the norm now. Not the restaurants fault but just this out of control inflation. We would return again if we are in the area. Stay away from the red sauce on the tamales, queso is much better. The red sauce just be made with ketchup.

The Baja salad and donkey nachos were really good. The service was amazing. I also loved the checkers out of beer caps. I had fun playing it after eating. Definitely recommend as a great spot to eat.

Haven’t been here in years and my little one and I stopped in after swim lessons. Vegetarian fajitas were so good, they cooked the onions just right. The toddler and I loved the salsa, along with the ceiling decorations. Service was fast and the waiter brought everything i asked for and refilled my drinks with speed. The guacamole was a little bland, but nothing salt and lemon couldn’t fix. Will be back for sure also the flour tortillas were so soft !

Sat their about 10 minutes for lunch no service, water, chips or salsa was brought. They were to busy sing Happy Birthday. By the time I stood up and left the waitress came and said what can I get you. I said I'm sorry I had a change in my appetite. I've eaten their a few times before and have had better service. I do have to say the food in the pass have been Delish.

Great food and amazing service! We made a reservation to celebrate our son's birthday. Arrived to find our table waiting and our server Taylor was very attentive and careful to keep our 2 year old grandson out of harms way (hot plates, etc.). The food was outstanding and Taylor made it an event to remember! Good Job Don'Key!

The food was NOT in good shape when we got home. Maybe this Tex Mex is meant to be enjoyed during a dine in experience? Not sure, too many Tex-Mex and Mexican restaurants in Houston to give this another go.

I’ve been here several times it’s one of the best Tex-mex restaurants in the area. We were lucky to meet with Haley who been working in this years for over than three years. She gave good recommendations from their huge list! Very comfortable place and super clean large parking lot inside bar. Awesome staff too! Highly recommended

Plenty of parking. Service was fast and waitress was nice. Drinks are surprisingly good and strong for the price. The flour tortillas taste homemade. The red salsa isn’t spicy.

I got the shrimp Diablo, and I'm surprised I didn't see any reviews about this before going. It was amazing!! One of the best things I've gotten at any restaurant 🤤 the tortillas, chips and salsa are really great too. Rice and refried beans were good as always. The pico and guacamole were pretty bland- that's the only bad thing I have to say about this place. The staff were very nice and quick. Food came out quick and hot as well.

The Don’Key is always a great place to hang out with friends and have good food. Love their Don’key balls as an appetizer or even your full meal. If you love cheese and fajita meat this is something you don’t want any to miss. It’s a signature dish.

I enjoyed a delightful lunch with my family. I ordered the green chili chicken enchiladas, and I must say, both the food and service were truly exceptional. The restaurant exuded a fun ambiance, and the staff was incredibly friendly.

UPDATE*** Went again this past Saturday 11/4 and my meal was wrong and was received late at that. My niece didn't receive her meal until 15 minutes aftwr everyone else because i asked where her meal was. Again... NO manager!!! Always good food, but the last time we went we got the appetizer about 5 minutes after receiving our entrees... not cool and no manager to be seen. They should be checking tables to ensure no issues.
