The Tasting Room has the ambiance of sitting on the median of a freeway, but the wines blew my socks off. If you have high blood pressure you'd better go elsewhere, because these wines will get the metabolism running.

Big bold hard hitting wines. Wines here are typically in the 15% plus range. Go big or go home right. Totally my style. Super friendly and very nice staff. I have always felt very welcomed here. Every bottle I have taken home from here I have always felt like the wine over delivered. Went to my first pick up party this weekend and every moment was incredible.

Friendly and knowledgeable tasting- they are happy to discuss or leave you alone. Outside seating and allowed us to eat snacks we brought. Inside tasting - cold inside to bring a jacket! Bathrooms inside (clean). Fun novelty items to purchase - hats, shirts, etc. Purchase of 2 bottles waives tasting fee.

Very interesting tour; the wines are some of my favorites; the interaction with everyone there is always positive. If you haven't tried their wines you are missing out!!

Big bold yummy reds! I am so thankful they allowed us to walk in for a tasting. If you're in Paso stop by and get some of the best bold reds in town you won't be disappointed!

We do love there wines enough to travel hundreds of miles after confirming their hours and that they'd be open today... At noon, as we walked up to our anticipated tasting and plan to purchase bottles as new years gifts for ourselves and friends, a dude was tossing up a gone fishing sign saying they're suddenly closed today and his response was a big Meh... Needless to say, we were looking forward to their bold wines but won't be driving back up here or buying from them again any time soon and next time we're in Paso I doubt I'll be stoked to recommend others to visit and spend anything here... Very disappointed.

Big, bold, balanced, and delicious. That encapsulates the Herman Story experience. If I was to add anything, it would be great value. We'll be back again, and again, and again.

Nice experience 😂. We tested some of their wines, red ones, and concluded that they did a good job and the wines turned to be very solid with a good structure. Service was amazing with many inside aspects, not just the winery itself, but also about the Paso Robles wines area in general. PS: we found that the winemakers are having also their own wines line which just make things better.

Outstanding! Came in on recommendation from another downtown wine tasting. They got us in right away and by the 3rd sip of the first pour we knew we would join the club. Fun people, great wines, can't miss it you are in Paso Robles, you must go there! We will be back!

Unbelievably bold wines. Not to mention the experience is top notch with a knowledgeable staff and relaxing environment. My “must visit” spot any time I roll through Paso. Take home a bottle or case of the Chelle Mountain Cab.

I’ve read all the great reviews and been wanting to taste at Herman Story for years; I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. If you like rich, full-bodied, textured, and very drinkable wines then you should try Herman Story. Shout out to Crosby and Larry who made the tasting experience enjoyable and relaxed, plus they’re very knowledgeable about the wines.
