I LOVED THIS HOSTEL SO MUCH!! I ended up extending my stay and cancelling my other hostel because I loved this one so much. Everyone sleeps in either tents or tipis, but they also have single private rooms too i believe. I booked a tent and it was a very affordable price and amazing because it was like having my own private room. I had so much privacy. The tipis are bigger and cost a bit more, however they have a light inside and power for charging electronics. The location is right on the lake which provides beautiful views. Located on the edge of San Pedro so you do have to walk about 10 minutes to get to the main area of town, however there are tons of tuktuks along the way They have plenty of seating / lounging areas around the property, lots of hammocks, benches, tables & chairs. In the main building they have a bar, pool table, ping pong table, and TV. Hot water in the showers. Breakfast in the morning consisted of fresh fruit, bread, cofeee and a hard boiled egg. They had a kitchen communal kitchen with plenty of fridge space and cookware. Free purified water for guests. An outdoor fire pit area which was great in the evenings. The only downsides is that the tents did not have power (which I didn’t expect them to) so we had to go into the main lodge to charge electronics which was only open from 9am-9pm. They also have no lockers or anywhere to store your belongings, I just ended up putting one of my locks through the zipper on my tent. Also the wifi did not reach to the communal kitchen and beyond, so I did not have wifi in my tent, only if I was at the building down by the water. Otherwise it was a wonderful hostel and i would totally come back!!

Absolutely loved our stay here and were super sad to have to leave. We would have extended our stay in a heartbeat. Right by the water and close to town (5-10 min walk from the main dock). Also there is an avocado tree providing many free avocadoes! There is also a very talented chef on staff who can make nicely priced (35Q) and generously portioned food. This place is a hidden gem with truly unbelievably low prices, and the team is working on making improvements every day. Given the super affordable pricing you do have to deal with witnessing the improvements as they happen -- toilets and showers can sometimes be uncooperative but staff is super friendly and willing to help. Neighbouring establishments can also be quite noisy on weekends but the hostel working on an eco-friendly sound insulation project to help reduce the noise impactfrom the neighbours!! Jacob in particular was always attentive, insightful, and knowledgeable any time we asked questions. Very friendly and approachable, and just a generally fun and interesting human to talk to. Can't wait to see what happens with Gran ColibrĂ in the future! P.S. Mishka the cat is very cute but addicted to carbs and will snack on your bagels or pizza if you leave them out. ;)

Nice place but... do NOT bring too much cash with you when you stay here. It's not possible to lock your tent or tipi. There are no safes or lockers where you can store your valuables.

We stayed in the "VIP" studio. It was basic but in a great location had everything you need, including an amazing view of the lake! We've been travelling for 8 weeks and this was most definitely the best value for money place we've stayed 👍🏼
