Great feel, great location and great rooms. The biggest letdown is the attitude of the staff, ill mannered, uncouth and I don't think they know that they are in the hospitality industry,far from hospitable not even friendly. They need training in customer relationship.

We had the best time at this hotel. We booked it for 4 nights very last minute for a beach break at the end of our Sri Lanka holiday. I can only say we were blown away by the level of service from the lovely staff. The chef and restaurant manager were exceptional and so lovely. They greeted us every day and made us off menu food as well. Every meal we had was delicious and pretty reasonably priced for the area. One day we mentioned we were going whale watching the next morning and the chef went out of his way to make us a packed breakfast to our liking and left with security for us to take with us at 5am. One day when I fancied a Sri Lankan breakfast they made me my own beautiful meal with so much food. I can’t stress how much they made our stay amazing. I must say, this hotel has so much more charm than the Marriott next door and was everything we were looking for at the end of our trip. A big thanks to all the staff at WBR!

Such a wonderful resort. The chef and hospitality manager went out their way to make our stay special. Whatever off menu food we requested they delivered. Reasonably priced, lovely pool. I have found in sri lanka that table service happens sort of once and then you have to flag someone down but you were always checked in on at appropriate times at this place, not over bearing. Lovely clean rooms wonderful decor comfy bed. Did not try the spa so cannot comment. Food prices were same in the area but big portions so could get away with sharing a main and 2 starters. Definitely return again and happily pay more.

We had a great experience staying here, from the guests relations lady, the welcome dance, the supervisor and reception manage to the pool attendant. Very tasty breakfast with attention to details and fast service. We were greeted by the restaurant manager who helps his team and general manager too. The kids play area was a bonus for us and the great live music in the lobby/bar area. Wonderful experience overall, highly recommended and definitely coming back. We had such a beautiful stay here. Staff were great, rooms were comfortable and the food was amazing. This place deserves its 5 star rating. Only thing to note is the small road there is not in the best condition.

* Old rooms, a bit out- dated, no charm at all. Nothing romantic. * Low quality of breakfast, missing healthy options and missing natural ingredients such as mango and avocado. Breakfast felt like owner wants to save money on costs. * Staff and team amazingly friendly and service minded. * Kids friendly and great place for kids. * Overpriced for what hotel delivers. * Quick on charging extra but not giving the extra.

Very unfriendly front office staff, took 40 minutes to check us in & on top, argumentative. They still check some files to check you in & will give you a feel of 80s Era. Special advise for my Indian friends- no hand shower in bathroom!! Make your choice wisely!

I had a wonderful stay at Weligama Bay Resort. The hotel is located on a beautiful beachfront and the views from the rooms are stunning. The rooms are spacious and clean, and some of the bungalows have been recently renovated. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is the best part of the resort, as it is situated right on the beach, which is the most suitable for surfing in all of Sri Lanka. You can watch the waves for hours from the terrace, which is directly on the beach and has beautiful fabric sunshades. They are visually appealing and practical, as they protect guests' heads from the sun while they watch the skilled surfers.

We had a fantastic time at the Weligama Bay Resort, a small boutique hotel next to the Marriott in Weligama. I have visited Sri Lanka many times and typically stay in larger hotels. We chose the Weligama Bay resort because my husband and daughter surf and the hotel is on a beautiful beach. The room was large and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and served a wide variety of Sri Lankan and Western foods. We appreciated the service at the restaurant particularly the attention that Sungath paid us to make sure we had what we needed. My husband and daughter were able to rent boards every day from the hotel and go surfing in the early morning and the evening. The beach is beautiful and the water relatively shallow so an excellent place for kids to learn surfing. We could not be happier about our decision to spend the first week of our holiday at the Weligama Bay resort.

The covid 19 impact and the economic instability in the country was quite visible in the resort, where it lacked routine maintenance. It was a great resort, I sincerely hope that it would get back into its usual high standards soon. The staff was great and the location was great as well. The rooms were spacious, the pool was ideal for a family with little kids. Overall a great resort with a great experience.

Sahan, a gentleman from department of front desk, was extremely rude and did not accommodate to the request of two bottles of water. He stated that there is no complimentary water during the days of checkout. How pathetic.

This is our 3rd visit in the hotel. The best Hotel In Sri Lanka. The team is professional and know how to give service. It is very clean and the facilities are great. The manager Mr.Dinesh Karunarathne is open to hear any feedback and always there to ensure you will get the best experience. we definitely will return to this great hotel

We like the hotel so much because it is like a little paradise with friendly and helpful staff, comfortable pool, romantic restaurant and the perfect sea for beginning surfers :)

Best hotel in Weligama. We booked for 1 week and ended up extending for another week. We loved everything about this hotel. Awesome location right in front of the best surf spot in Weligama, great breakfast, nice and clean room and super nice staff. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the south of Sri Lanka.

The design of this small resort is really nice and probably the best one along the Weligama Beach. However, the restaurant and bar service are very substandard and not at all adequate. Many basic dishes like fish and chips, eggs benedict were served overcooked or totally burned, and the barman has no knowledge of basic cocktails. Draft beer was not served cold. Chocolate spread on crepes was the cheapest/unedible. Staff at the tables is not able to communicate/understand basic requests/menu orders in English. We had to spend all of our dinners always outside the resort which is a real pity given the nice design and location of the restaurant. The swimming pool was not very clean as you would expect and like. The exhaust hood noise and smell from the adjacent Marriot Hotel kitchen was straight on our bungalow Garden Villa. Preferably choose another one when you book. Our surfing experience was good and the location of the resort is ideal from that perspective.

We were a family with two children aged 6 & 9. The whole purpose of our visit was to provide our kids a safe, comfortable and joyful holiday experience. Team at the Weligama Bay resort lived up to our expectations. Garden villa we chose was very spacious, very well maintained and comfortable. Large bathroom with the hot tub and shower options was the best for a family with young kids like us. Food was delicious, well presented and filling. Prices of food and beverages was very reasonable. Swimming pool was clean, orderly maintained and safe for kids. Caring assistance from hotel staff stood above all the comforts and facilities. Very big thanks to all.

We've stayed here once before, but our experience this time was even better. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. Great breakfast, lovely pool and perfect location. The rooms are great - spacious and comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to return, nor recommend others to come and stay in this wonderful place.

Rooms are super clean and interior was awesome. We were in 10th floor, the sea view is still remarkable. They are staff also very much concern about the customers.Food is perfect and delicious ,lot of varieties which I didn’t see in other hotels.I really wanted to visit again . Can be recommended as super luxurious hotel in LK. Specially need to thanks Chef Isuru provide us a super friendly service .Awesome experience !!!
