Iā€™m so frustrated with this office! Last time I came in it was for a cleaning. Did I receive a cleaning (No!) the assistant did my X-rays (obviously new assistant) which is fine But why did my visit take an hour and 30 minutes for just X-rays and an exam? Again I received no cleaning.Every single time I come here, thereā€™s some sort of issue. I keep trying to give them a chance but for sure Iā€™ve had it. You know, whatā€™s the point of scheduling an appointment if youā€™re going to have your patient waiting more than an hour. My appointment was scheduled at 4pm, I came in at 3:40pm, itā€™s now 5:30pm and Iā€™m walking out with my mouth numb cause the dentist is obviously working on two patients and just left me there. This office should be more respectful to everyoneā€™s time. I donā€™t have 4 hours to sit in a office to get basic things done. Front staff and assistants are nice, itā€™s just the time managing is horrible on the dentist part.

Went in late last year, maybe in July to see the dentist and the wait wasnā€™t as bad since it was late in the afternoon but initial visit was basically X-rays and a exam. Told me I need deep cleaning and that I have 1 cavity and as I tried to scheduled for the cavity, they said they will call me to schedule because they need to submit a claim to my insurance (Medicaid) to see if theyā€™ll pay for the deep cleaning first before they can render the serviceā€¦ itā€™s been months now and still not a call back and after seeing all these reviews, Iā€™m sure they just decided to not call me back because Medicaid wouldnā€™t pay for it. I would definitely not be going back there anymore because they definitely just wasted my time when I couldā€™ve gotten the work done elsewhere long time agoā€¦.

This is one of the worst experiences Iā€™ve ever had. From customer service to pharmacy pick up. The girl at the front desk is so unprofessional and has no empathy when dealing with patients in pain. And they gave me a fraudulent prescriptions. The pharmacist stated when she call to verify they had no records on me or the doctor that wrote the prescription. I am in so much pain and discomfort would have to take myself to the ED. They wasted a lot of my time which I didnā€™t Have. Going to report them so that the state can probably investigate cause no one should have to go through this.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. Horrible dentist office and horrible staff. These people are very unprofessional and half of their staff does not know what they are even doing. At first they told me i need an x-ray then told me i didnā€™t then again told me to get up for the x-ray. I went in for a normal cleaning which is covered by my insurance. I called before hand to make sure it was covered and that I could get a cleaning done. When i get there they started to name every possible disease in the book and thing that could be wrong with teeth and told me i had all of these things which is surprising as I have not even had a cavity in 5 years. This was their way into scaring me into doing more procedures for them to make money. They told me they did not want to accept my insurance and wanted me to pay out of pocket for all the services and cleaning even though my insurance covers it. I overheard them tell another patient the same thing. It is clear that they are trying to scam people and scare them into making dirty money. When i told the staff I want a normal cleaning which is covered by the insurance which is what I made the appointment for they said no and gave me attitude and told me to leave. Save your time and money and do not visit this dentist.

First thing first I was scheduled for my first appointment here at 11:00 am and wasnā€™t seen until about 1:30pm . The gentlemen who did my deep clean was very nice but very sloppy with my cleaning . It was very painful and all of my saliva was dripping everywhere down my neck. I was given the option for a monthly payment plan for teeth whitening for 79$ a month . I paid my first month but was never given my kit to take home . By this time it had already been three weeks . So I called and canceled . This place is very unprofessional and the front desk women have a very nonchalant rude attitude. Wouldnā€™t recommend anyone to go here .

Went in for a cleaning and I donā€™t know if thereā€™s a difference in the type they do at this dentist but the one Iā€™m used is nothing like what this office gave me. The wait was an hour and the cleaning took about 10-15 minutes. The hygienist sprayed some water around my teeth ( wetting my face in the process) and then polished them and floss after. I donā€™t know but my regular dentist would normally go in and individually scrape the plaque from each and everyone of my teeth. Letā€™s just say my regular dentist do a whole lot more. I choose this dentist due to the pandemic and my regular dentist not being available.

I made an appointment I took off work. They said that my insurance covers the extraction. Then they still wanted me to pay $400.00 for the same extraction my insurance is supposed to be covering. They said there are services that are required by the state for them to do and I must pay it, because by law they canā€™t perform an extraction without those services. My insurance said those services are not medically necessary. So I couldnā€™t pay and I left the office without getting any service whatsoever. They said they would request the service again from the insurance and nothing. No call back nothing. 2 months later they havenā€™t called me back I guess just because I couldnā€™t pay the $400 or the discounted price they offered of $350.00 for an extraction. Even as a self pay I have never paid that much for an extraction before. Guess I chose the wrong place, what a waste of my time.

I regretfully recount an incredibly disappointing experience that my husband and I had at this dental office on July 4, 2023. We went in for a routine check-up and deep clean, but what unfolded during our visit has left us deeply troubled and questioning the integrity of this establishment. While waiting, I overheard a conversation between a staff member and the receptionist, where they discussed upcharging my husband for six fillings, even though he only needed four. This blatant attempt to exploit our trust and overcharge us raises serious concerns about the ethical standards maintained at this office. It leaves us wondering whether this was purely a money-driven decision or if there were discriminatory motives involved. As an African American couple, we are no strangers to instances of racial bias. The possibility that such bias may have influenced the decision to upcharge us only deepens our distress. Discrimination has no place in any professional setting, especially within a healthcare facility where patient well-being and fairness should be of utmost importance. In light of this incident and the subsequent erosion of trust, I immediately texted and advised my husband to decline any further procedures and only proceed with the X-ray. It is disheartening to have to make such a decision due to the unprofessional conduct exhibited by your staff. Moreover, we will be filing a formal grievance with our insurance provider to report the unjust practices witnessed during our visit. It is imperative that this incident is thoroughly investigated and appropriate action is taken to prevent its recurrence in the future. We have decided never to return to this dental office and strongly discourage others from seeking treatment here. Our negative experience, coupled with the doubts about the integrity of this establishment, make it impossible for us to recommend it to anyone. We sincerely hope that this review prompts the necessary introspection and corrective measures within the office. It is our fervent desire that no one else should endure the distress and sense of betrayal that we experienced during our visit. Note: We remain hopeful that this review prompts the dental office to address the concerns raised and take appropriate actions to rectify the situation.

Worst experience ever, woman's name starts with an S .front dest extremely nasty and unprofessional. I was told that information someone told me from the office was incorrect. So I wanted correct information and answer. When called to confirm I was told my appointment would be cancelled. Never giving a reason why. Never got any answers. Then I was told they would contact my insurance. Not sure for what I didn't get seen by anyone. When I went to the appointment to see what in the world was going on and what exactly was happening. I was told that over phone interview I'm not a good fit for this appointment but wasn't told this until I arrived and they see what I look like. I'm a mixed young lady, and feel like this was pure racism. Because I didn't get answers on why my appointment would get cancelled and why they told me information that was incorrect and never giving correct information. I was treated as a threat and they told me they would call security even though I wasn't a threat I was talking and never was asked to leave. But I left with the understand that someone has my information and mostliking contacting my insurance for something I didn't authorize. And because they see what I look like I'm seen as a threat. I will never come back I contacted management on the mall. Report all issues this this office. JJ dental needs new staff ASAP. report has been made to police just in case personal info was used or taken do the same I don't trust this office with any information.

My appointment was specifically set for a root canal just for me to get there to be told that Iā€™d have to make an appointment at the saw grass location because the endodontist no longer service this location. Why did I not receive a call regarding this very important information? This appointment has been set for a couple of days now and the referral even states why the appointment was needed. So ultimately I came to an appointment to get nothing done which was a complete waste of time. Then, I was told that I needed some other work done and how my insurance only covered certain things. However, in the next room over I overheard the same person explaining the exact same thing to the next client (maybe itā€™s an upsale tactic or something, idk). Nonetheless, the X-Ray tech and the front desk receptionist were nice and friendly. The dentist couldā€™ve had a much better demeanor than what was presented. When I needed her to repeat a thing or two because I couldnā€™t hear her under her mask and soft voice, she seemed annoyed .

This is one of the worst offices I have ever visited. They are there to scam people and not do any honest work. I was told I have gum disease and how my insurance canā€™t cover my cleaning due to that reason. They then told the same story to my mother which made no sense because weā€™ve never had any issues in the past. This place refused to use our insurance and just wanted us to pay out of pocket. Also the staff was rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend anyone to visit this office!

If there was an option to rate this dental office a zero out of five stars that would be the rating I would have to give it. Zero people should attend this office and here is whyā€¦This office is very dangerous and unsafe. After taking X rays of my teeth they mistook my X rays for someone else teeth and began to explain to me that I had 18 cavities and had to get a deep cleaning which would cost me an out of pocket expense. After informing them that they must have made a mistake they insisted they were right to only find out that they were in fact wrong and almost attempted to work on my mouth with someone elseā€™s dental history. I got up and left immediately. Very unprofessional and very sketchy office. I do not recommend anyone get dental work completed here ever.

I was charged $575 for one tooth removal, they cut the side of my lip , and they said they don't accept my insurance right after the tooth extraction. Then they said I need cleaning and its another $1,000 to clean my teeth. Don't ever go this dentist.

I came in for a cleaning. Which they ended up saying my dental plan doesnā€™t cover. First they said $245 for the cleaning because they had to us a ā€œspecialā€ medication I told them at my previous office they only charged $110 so they matched the price. WHICH I PAID OUT OF POCKET. The cleaning was like all other cleanings Iā€™ve ever gotten NO SPECIAL MEDICATION LMAO! Dentist offered me Botox for $180 for my gummy smile. They will try to pressure you to do things youā€™re not there to do. Staff ghetto and Place is money hungry. Down below is what they charge for an examination šŸ˜‚ which my dental plan denied. I will be calling the board of dentistry and reporting this place.

Hoping this review can save you some stress or dealing with a business thatā€™s not Structured. Last year 1/9/2020 I came to Lakes Dental to get some work done. My Treatment Plan was 2 Dental implants. Root canal and a deep cleaning. The lady that did the pricing negotiated my treatment plan because I was getting multiple things done at one time . I agreed to the price of $4285 to get all my work done. Through the year getting My treatment done step by step every time I came in they alway ask for a payment when I already paid with my Care Credit account the complete balance. When I tell every time I went they had to search my file to make sure I paid. Finally after a whole year going by cause one screw Rejected. Getting my implants was delayed cause the screw had to connect to the bone. The dentist first put both screws on one side. So after realizing her mistake she put it on the other side. I need total 4 implants I have to get 2 at a time as they said. So now after a year Iā€™m finally ready for my crowns I book my appointment. I came in an guess what ? AGAIN THEY DIDNT KNOW I HAD ALREADY PAID IN FULL MY TREATMENT PLAN. The lady tells me I didnā€™t pay for crowns! We went back and forth about it. When I tell you I was so distraught so upset so hurt all my energy drained!!!! Cause again the dental office didnā€™t know my case as a patient. So after going back and forth another lady came with my chart showing me I didnā€™t pay for crowns When I paid for 2 Dental Implants 1 root canal and a deep cleaning. The lady that did my pricing had to help me everytime I came to my appointment cause they ask for a payment everytime I went there to complete my treatment. The Lady Dentist that agreed to initial payment that put in the screws in for the implants who also had to help me wasnā€™t there. She moved to Puerto Rica and not coming back. The Lady who did the pricing wasnā€™t there she was sick and wasnā€™t returning for 2 weeks. They wouldnā€™t call her or the Dentist who installed my screws. The Lady was so rude. She wasnā€™t trying to help me in no way. All she keeps saying was I didnā€™t pay when I paid $4285 with my CareCredit card. On my chart it clearly shows each items reg price and the discounted price for the implants, root canal and deep cleanings. I should her the screws so she can see the screws she didnā€™t care. Over talking me not trying to help me at all. I didnā€™t see nobody I saw working there though out the year to help me cause they all didnā€™t work there no more. I was so happy to finally be able to get the things done I needed and pick the wrong business to do my services.

After waiting 3 hours for a simple cleaning the dentist performing the cleaning on my son continuously touched office supplies with her gloves while working in my sons mouth. After completing the cleaning these scalpers told me my 14 year old son needed a $4000 surgery that wouldnā€™t be covered by my insurance to remove the skin at the top of his lip because it was ā€œovergrownā€ after hearing this I paid out of pocket to go to my usual dentist who is no longer covered by my insurance to have a more experienced dentist look at my son and they informed me that this was a complete lie and they were only looking to get money out of me at my sons expense. Iā€™ve been coming here for the last 6 months and after this I will never be back to this sorry excuse of a medical office. Iā€™m only writing this to save people from wasting money on unnecessary procedures since this dentist does not care about your children and will perform surgery on them unnecessarily. Would have given zero stars if it were possible

I want to share my thoughts. This facility is a bit dated and definitely could use an upgrade, nonetheless it is fully functional and it is not the appearance that counts its the people running the facility. I am not the patient. My wife is. I made an emergency appointment for her on a Friday morning for the same day. She had already gone to see them a few weeks beforehand due to a couple of old crowns she had that were causing grief. Because Lourdes, my wife, has a cardiac condition she needed a medical clearance to undergo her dental procedure. This took a bit of time. Mind you that this was the first time she had used this office. They were a participating provider for her dental insurance plan. Her crown broke unexpectedly. It had fallen and could not be salvaged. Not only did they see her immediately, they treated her for replacement of not one but two crowns and carefully delicately helped her through the process. Dr Jose AlemĆ”n has hands of gold. His bedside manner is superb. Special thanks to Monica and Leidys. (Not sure of the spelling) I must say these ladies are caring and loving people. I personally underwent surgery in the hospital the week following Lourdesā€™s dental procedures and did not want the mental anguish of thinking my spouse was having any issues or pain. With the pandemic, money is hard to come by. They worked with us regarding the copayment as well. Thank you for being top notch people. For your humanity, professionalism and honesty. I will never use another dental office. My family found itā€™s new home.

First off doctor was great staff is great. BUUTT, I felt like I was in a 1995 dentist office, idk where they got their equipment, kinda looks like they went inside of a abandon dentist office and grabbed what worked. Paint jobs not done, door nob out wasnā€™t working right, no Appeal to the store at all. Amazing people I can tell they care and good service. I just never understood why business owners canā€™t do small things like better paint and little details for the overall store.
