The staff are top notch, friendly and professional. We loved the dog friendly atmosphere. But the rest of our experience wasn’t great. The new rooms in the west wing look great on paper but are small and impractical. Bathrooms are huge, sleeping are small. Glass windows are big, providing a great view but aren’t near sound proof so every car was heard, in particular one Yahoo racing up and down the street till 11:00 at night with no muffler. The lights on the balcony can’t be turned off so even with the blinds closed you can’t make the room dark. No fan in the toilet room so no way to clear smells. Phones must have been an afterthought because the four foot cord lays on the bar top. Spring loaded doors were the worst part; a danger to little fingers as they are too much for our grand daughter to manage (6 years old) but, even worse, they slam shut with a bang. The first night it was cars, the second was doors slamming till after 11 and started up again at 4:14 am. Who needs sleep? Booking direct said we got a $25 food voucher but the Barking Parrot wouldn’t serve our grand daughter and the Bufflehead cafe couldn’t seat us for breakfast (too many hockey teams?) so we had to drive to Denny’s. Definitely not family friendly. Wouldn’t come again.

Penticton lakeside resort water view rooms had a great view and really fun surrounding. Great place for spending a few days. Great wineries and restaurants close by. The beach walk is right off the back of the hotel and it is absolutely beautiful. A sandy beach is around the corner within walking distance. The hotel was clean. I would recommend a cafe for breakfast or room service, as I didn’t like the food at breakfast buffet. Unfortunately the kitchen wouldn’t make the same food on the room service menu at the restaurant which was unfortunate. Both the bar and the restaurant have awesome water views and we quite enjoyed it. The pool and hot tub and quite dated but kids had a blast.

Not worth the nightly rate, very disappointed. My toddler and I came on on last minute beach getaway. We were given a room at the very end of the hall, which was great for sleeping. However, we didn’t have hot water in our room for 2 days, and on the third day while yes it was hotter, it was very touchy. The shower needs some serious updating, from the faucet to the drain. When we could finally have some hot water for a bath, the water / plug would not hold in the tub. When dealing with the front desk staff and supervision on the issue, I was made to feel like I was a burden, and was brushed off quite rudely. The maintenance guy advised that the water needs to run for 15 mins before our room would get hot water??!!?!? He did also mention about the faucet needing to replace. Just seems outdated, with evident staffing shortages. It was not a 4 star service as they are rated. Your money could be better spent elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Had a great one night stay at this hotel. Staff were fabulous to talk to and location is amazing as it's right by the beach. Rooms and beds are slightly dated but everything was cleaned well. The view from the room was beautiful! Pool and hot tub are fine but nothing fancy. I would stay here again.

First time staying in the new west wing. Very nice rooms with lots of card key access to keep things safe. Parking was great if you got there early but spots are limited at night. The staff were great and trading a room cleaning for a $15 coupon helped buy a beer or two at the end of the day. Quite an eccentric crowd in The Parrot which added to the ambiance. Overall I would stay here again.

We stayed here over Mother’s Day weekend for a little getaway. We got the Spring Getaway package so we were in the new West wing. The room was beautiful, the views were top notch, and the bathroom was amazing. We loved the attention to detail. On check-in, we were welcomed by the guest services manager who was extremely friendly and helpful; however, the rest of the time, the front desk staff seemed irritated to see us if we’d come to ask questions. They have a program where if you don’t get housekeeping, you can get $15 off any of the restaurants on site the next day. So since we didn’t have housekeeping, we needed extra coffee and sugar. Always seemed like we were an imposition when asking. Overall, our experience with the resort was great. Decent amenities, the restaurants were tasty, and everything was very clean. We would stay again and would recommend.

Had a good experience staying here. I especially liked the nice touch with the welcome treats in the fridge. Location is perfect and room was good. The only thing I would say that would make it 5 stars is that some things in the room didn't work. But other than that, great spot.

Stayed at this beautiful location for my company Christmas Party. They really go all out on their decorations in the lobby to celebrate the holiday season. I wish I had some of their gorgeous decorations. The room was clean and comfortable however the beds were a little hard and could use a nice foam topper for extra comfort. The East Ballroom where we had our winter celebration was beautifully set up with fantastic service. The food was ok but definitely an area for improvement.

Really great experience! Was in the tower block and it was a great room with a excellent view. The location is perfect, right on the beach. The staff are great, Any question they could answer. They offer a scheme that will replace your room cleaning service daily with a $15 voucher for the café and I would recommend doing that if you can do away with the cleaning because the food is fantastic and the voucher will cover most items on the menu. There is a private section of the beach that is license, and it is perfect for a day on the beach

Great location and views! The west side (new building) rooms are great! The views for the waterfront are amazing and calming for a morning coffee on the balcony. Personally, the public beaches are nicer than the private one on site, but location is amazing and you can walk to the public beach within minutes! Plus for the private beach is the bar and food service from the Barking Parrot. Would highly recommend this place for a stress free vacation since everything is so accessible!

We fled the fires in Kelowna and were lucky enough to find a room here. The beds were comfy and had lots of great pillows, the bathroom was clean and one of the bellhops went out of his way to find a clock radio to replace the one in our room that didn't work (we use them for white noise). The one-night stay was expensive, but it's the middle of tourist season so we wouldn't expect anything else. The location was great and we enjoyed a lengthy, stress reducing stroll along the waterfront after dinner. The staff were all friendly, courteous and professional. The only criticism I have is that our bathroom did not have an exhaust vent. Thank you! We will be back again.

We were extremely disappointed in our recent 6 night stay. We opted for the new tower as we hadn’t been there since it was added. Partial lake view Suites are nice but very dark as they get no sun. Also not family friendly for sleeping or with the micro size fridge and see through shower. Our Friends stayed on top floor and said it was quiet but we were on 5th floor and had nothing but noise half the night every night- footsteps and banging. Complained to manager who quickly shut us down and basically denied that it’s noisy. So don’t waste time complaining you will get nowhere with her. Also lots of police action in adjacent parking lot with fights and out of control teens running around at night. Also one elevator broke down and was never fixed. Spent almost $3000 for 6 nights and felt totally ripped off. Never again. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else!

My friend and I go on mom getaways every year and this year we chose Penticton. We had a great time at the resort. Front desk staff were attentive, kind and helpful. The bellman was great with helping me up with my many bags. The restaurant was fabulous and the grade 10 student who was our server at breakfast was phenomenal! The pool and hot tub were lovely. The room had an incredible lake view and was very clean. The beds were okay. My only complaint would be the lack of duvet. It had a simple white sheet and we called down for extra blankets but the blanket was a thin fleece material. I love a big heavy duvet when I’m sleeping but it seems to be the norm nowadays in hotels to skip the duvets and save on laundry. Other than that we had a great time and would stay here again!

Great hotel on the lake. Private beach with food and drink service. Boat and seadoo rentals. Good breakfast restaurant with Starbucks counter, smoothie bar, a restaurant on stilts over the water, and a lively bar all on site. Decent indoor pool and fitness centre. Fantastic for families. Walkable to dozens of restaurants, shops, clubs, parks, beaches, mini golf, museums.

This is not a 4 Star hotel. Just an average 2 star like Travel lodge. Room is small, no microwave, water pressure in shower is low. Pool was shut down. If you stay in Lake view side you will be hear the loud boom music from the bar in the evening until 2 am. Morning staff are great and helpful but not the guy in evening. For almost $400 a night on the weekend and they still charge $15/day for parking.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. We stayed at the hotel over the weekend for a wedding and they were less than helpful, actually most of the staff was down right rude. We valeted our vehicle and when it was returned to us it had about $10,000 worth of damage. After 5 phone call to the hotel we were finally were able to talk to a manager Nick. He was arrogant, dismissive and would not do anything about it. They have cameras in the parkade, which he would not check and would not release the footage of. He did not offer to do anything for us and said the hotel is not responsibility for the vehicles they valet. They think because they are on the lake people will stay there regardless of how bad the service is. Worst experience at a hotel, don't ever stay here!

Been going to this hotel since 2021.. In the beginning it was nice and fun but coming here again in 2023, it is quite old and run down.. Check in is smooth and rooms are clean but hallways are very noisy. The pool is horrible, always a towel shortage and very grungy, hot tub was broken and full of sand it was gross. Hot tub timer was also broken, front desk said they will get maintenance but still hadn’t been fixed for 3 days. Food is alright in the hotel, we love the service from the barking parrot on the lakeside! the lake side is very nice and private and the beach isn’t rocky at all! Boat rentals are great too! pretty affordable and fun! Hotel isn’t worth the old and grunginess, i hate to say it but i will not be coming back here again.

Usually we stay at the Fairfield but decided to give this hotel a shot. Wish we didn't. Beautifully decorated for Christmas but the hotel itself was not very clean. The pool deck was very dirty and there was garbage floating in the hot tub, the carpets in the hallways and hotel were dirty and we didn't have coffee in our room for some reason. Kids were yelling and running up and down the hallways until after 2:00am... They charge you $15 for parking to stay at their hotel? Seems like a bit of a rip off how else do they expect us to get to the hotel? 😅😂 Disappointed and feel this hotel is very overrated. When checking out nobody cared to ask how our stay even was... Won't be staying here again.

Excellent service and food, great to have three restaurant choices plus room food service. View is gorgeous. But like other reviews say, it needs a bit of an update. Our group all had trouble with the heating/cooling being way too loud or not working (the PTACs look and sound like they are from the 80s, thermostat is old too). Make this change alone and the rating goes to 5 stars. Also use food/service carts with pneumatic wheels for the dock restaurant, the obnoxious rattle every few minutes is brutal.

Clean, modern and comfortable. And a nice touch...if you don't want/need your room refreshed, you get a $15 voucher for any of the 3 on-site restaurants. What a great idea. So many hotels have eliminated that service but still charge you a premium for the room. This is a great way to get me coming back.

The location is great and close to many amenities. However, other than the view, the room was not unlike any other. The bathroom was relatively clean, but I still had to wipe a few things down after finding a fingernail and what looked like a scab on the bathroom counter. The beds were okay, but nothing special. All in all, it was good, but I don't feel like the room was worth the price tag, especially in the off-season. I'll be likely to try out a few other hotels before I return to this one.

The rooms are a bit dated but the hotel is not bad at all, and the Barking Parrot is the best! It's the place to be any night of the week. A really great restaurant to have right in the hotel, then you can crawl back to your room and sleep it off. Haha! The staff in the hotel are very friendly and pleasant. Location is good and view is gorgeous.

This place is old. The outside is nice. The common areas a OK but the room we stayed in was old and not comfortable. The shower was made for people under 6 feet. The best thing about the room was the chrome cast. The hallway was loud throughout the night, Wednesday and Thursday. The check in was great, friendly. The checkout deserved to be told off, just very rude.

Off season, room is more affordable. We got a lake-view room on the second floor. It was beautiful. There's no complimentary breakfast but the location is so convenient that you can walk to restaurants.

I just sent out a memo for not lakeside but something else Food, was just awful. Ordered fish and chips. Hard tasteless batter on fish. Fish very dry. Worst ever. We complained and they gave us $2.50 off bill. They should have refunded the whole thing. Chips ok Used to be our place for lunch. Not and never again.

Beautiful location, courteous, professional staff, very esthetically pleasing, european-style room and great service! So why the low rating? Because form didn't follow function in terms of the room. No chest of drawers or shelves to put your clothes away, no hooks or places to hang the bathrobes or clothes and all the doors swung outward into the living spaces. Even as a minimalist myself, I couldn't make the room work for me.

Not terrible room was nothing special shower sucked. Was told when I arrived that I had to pay the entire fee for the week plus 350 . I was never told this when I booked the room. Food was fantastic most of the staff were very friendly and polite 2 staff members were not nice at all all three times I saw them. Pool door was broken and one of the frond desk ladies I wasn't talking about it was very sparky. Overall was ok probably won't stay again

Stayed two nights in a clean, comfortable room in the new west wing. Checked in fairly late and were greeted to the police outside dealing with patrons from the Barking Parrot some of which were also smoking directly in front of the doors. Felt less than secure once night fell for sure. Then when we checked out one of the many staff didn’t even acknowledge us standing at the desk for a few minutes and wouldn’t allow us to use our $15 meal credit we chose over having our room cleaned because we didn’t use it on the day the cleaning was supposed to be done. I wish we’d had a lake view room because then this probably could have been a 4 star review.

Nice room just a bad experience signing out the girl was so rude she ruined my whole day. We prepaid the room and when we signed in the girl was great gave us a parking pass and said we were good then the girl the next day argued we had to pay for the parking I said we never had before as we come here for our anniversaries she rudely pretty much accused me of lying. Not friendly and argumentative don’t no if we will come back here.

What a amazing place. From the location to pool side bar to great food this resort offers it all. We spent 2 night here in early September and were blown away by what this place offers. Clean rooms in the heart of wine country and only minutes from the south sore.

  • 3/5 Michael S. 1 year ago on Google
There is an option when reserving the room to have wine, food or other convenient items in your room upon check in. Didn't receive the items paid for. Refund was given. This is the best option for location, great restaurants. It has about the only dance bars left in town as well. Right on the beach, very walkable area. It is about a one black walk to more fantastic Brew pubs and restaurants. Check in was easy and quick. Front desk staff were very friendly, and professional. Hotel is very clean and impressive upon entering. Room was very clean and comfortable. Small coffee maker with Starbucks brand coffee in the room. Lots of fluffy, newer towels in the room. This is becoming rare in most hotels. Nice to see here Room was advertised as $119 plus fees and taxes. Ended paying $186 on check out. Other than the shady pricing tactics it was worth the final price overall.

This is a nice hotel and the staff is very friendly but it needs to fix a couple things before it deserves 4 stars. 1. There is no fan in the bathroom so it fogs up and the ceiling has black mold growing on it. 2. It’s 2022. You need a good coffee option in the rooms. The room has an old hotel coffee maker circa 1982. Get K-cup machines or have fresh coffee at the front desk (you can buy a cup of Starbucks for $3.50 at the cafe).

I needed a last minute reservation at this amazing place and was greeted with such kindness and understanding, after a horrible experience at another local hotel I’m throwing under the bus, Sandman! A moment after entering my room after my rush check in, a cleaning supervisor came to personally check my room to ensure it was perfect and was mortified that I made it there before she did. The room was lovely, very clean and had an amazing view. The amenities are superb and I will definitely return and highly recommend the Penticton Lakeside Resort!

Thanks to Justine for making last minute adjustments for us and Lorna who is simply awesome! We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff at the Bufflehead were extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the Taco salad at the Barking Parrot! Great view of the car show!

This is a difficult hotel to rate. The resort itself has fantastic location near downtown and beachfront. Lots and f great amenities from pool to pub and restaurant. The weak side is the rooms as beds very hard, not pillow top and not usual hotel grade mattress. Cheap quality linens … and most entertaining (pun intended) the room has a 32” tv - this place really needs the rooms to be upgraded! Otherwise the resort itself was very nice.

  • 5/5 Hoyland 1 year ago on Google
Zero problems. Checking in was easy and the front desk staff were amazing. Sophia was so helpful getting us set up and it was effortless moving our luggage to our room thanks to their amazing concierge, Ethan. All in all, an amazing stay, will definitely be back

  • 2/5 Jeff S. 1 year ago on Google
5 star rates for 2 star rooms. Toilet didn't flush, AC was ancient and didn't cool, no sound proofing so you heard everything in the hallways, sink was plugged. That was the room. Parking per car per day (who does this in 2022) Tried the bar but couldn't find a server in 15 mins so walked out. Didn't bother with the restaurant. For $100 a night I might turn a shoulder. But for $400/night I expect a whole lot better than this. Stayed in many other places in Penticton before. There's much better on offer than this place.
