We’ve
felt
that
customers
are
not
a
priority
here!
Shocking
especially
during
these
difficult
time
for
tourist
industry
during
pandemic.
And
that’s
why...
We
checked
in
early
afternoon
in
the
middle
of
the
week,
smooth
and
quick,
pleasant
atmosphere
at
the
lobby
with
jazz
background
music
and
free
caffe
and
tea
all
day!
Also
cold
filtered
water!
Great
help
in
very
hot
Georgetown.
The
room
we
got
was
pleasant
with
firm
mattress
and
good
working
a/c.
That’s
about
it...
Huge
disappointment
came
at
the
evening...
woman
at
the
reception
is
very
grumpy
and
completely
unhelpful,
welded
to
her
phone,
walking
like
a
zombie
attached
to
her
hand
device.
Completely
darkness
upstairs
as
she
is
not
even
bothered
to
switch
on
the
lights
on
staircases
or
corridors...
I’m
not
used
to
this
kind
of
negligence!
Unbelievable...
Around
9-10
pm
some
“random”
local
guys
arriving
on
scooters
and
cars...start
making
very
loud
conversation,
laugh
and
smoking
at
he
lobby.
Clearly
marked
“Non
Smoking”
but
seems
like
rules
are
not
for
them
but
for
guests
only!
They
clearly
did
not
care...
who
they
are?
I
don’t
know....
but
they
know
receptionist
and
feel
more
than
comfortable
to
behave
this
way.
But
the
worst
was
about
to
come
on
weekend
when
lobby
was
completely
taken
over
by
these
crooks!
Shouting,
evil
laughing,
guest’s
common
area
doesn’t
exist
anymore
at
that
point
and
all
guest
have
to
“evacuate”
to
their
rooms!
Stinking
cigarettes
smoke
even
upstairs
as
dozen
of
these
locals
have
their
own
party
in
the
lobby!
That
was
a
big
shock
for
us
and
I
still
cannot
understand
how
come
that
could
be
happening
in
the
travellers
guesthouse?!
I
am
just
wondering
if
they
are
registering
as
the
rest
of
the
guests
in
the
visitors
book
(compulsory
requirement
during
MCO
in
Malaysia).
What
if
any
of
them
would
have
Covid?
That
situation
was
very
uncomfortable
for
us!
We
have
felt
like
unwanted
guests,
invading
their
space!
In
every
hostel
we
had
visited,
common
area
is
the
friendly
place
to
socialise
with
other
guests/travellers.
Exchange
experience
and
ideas!
Not
here
obviously!
SUMMARY:
Pros:
1.
Early
afternoon
check
in
easy
and
smooth
2.
Nice
towel
on
arrival,
hot
shower
available
3.
Good
bed
for
the
price,
free
wi-fi
4.
Free
tea
and
caffe,
complimentary
breakfast
and
cold
filtered
water
5.
Nice
lobby
area
(only
daytime)
6.
Good
location
Cons:
1.
Evening
woman
in
reception
wins
price
for
“least
helpful
and
most
grumpy
receptionist
in
peninsular
Malaysia”
2.
Local
crooks
(not
guests)
taking
over
the
lobby
and
tv
area
at
the
evenings
so
forget
about
relaxing
there
at
the
end
of
the
day
unless
you
like
loud
mobile
phone
sounds,
rudeness,
shouting
and
access
of
cigarette
smoke
in
NON
SMOKING
AREAS
Facilities
are
good
as
you
see
but
seems
like
“I
don’t
care”
attitude
took
over
this
place.
Customer
is
just
an
“unnecessary
addition”
but
not
a
priority
here.
Just
to
remind
all
employees
of
the
hostel
that
without
customers
there
will
be
no
Red
Inn
Court
on
the
map
of
Georgetown
very
soon.
Before
booking
the
room
just
consider:
if
you
are
non
smoker
and
like
quiet,
chill
place
this
hostel
is
not
for
you!
I
was
very
frustrated
and
angry
few
times
because
of
how
I
was
treated.
...but
if
you
sleep
like
a
stone,
don’t
care
about
excessive
noise
made
by
some
random
middle
age
man
in
the
building
and
you
like
the
horrible
smell
of
cigarettes
just
go
for
it!
Ps.
I
sent
a
private
message
three
weeks
ago
to
the
owner
informing
him
what
is
happening
and
what
I
was
exposed
to.
I
was
promised
that
he
will
look
at
it
and
take
care
of
the
issues
I’ve
passed
to
him.
Didn’t
happen
and
as
I
promised
him
I’m
submitting
my
review...
it’s
up
to
him
if
he
will
take
it
seriously
or
not.
