Penang
Sentral
serves
as
a
transit
hub
bridging
the
ferry
route
between
Butterworth
and
Georgetown.
On
disembarking
from
the
ferry
at
Butterworth,
the
terminal
conveniently
links
to
this
complex.
Opting
for
e-hailing
services,
my
wife
and
I
encountered
e-hailing
signage
on
Level
8
of
the
car
park.
A
confirming
word
from
an
officer
assured
us
of
the
correct
location
for
e-hailing
pickups.
The
air-conditioned
waiting
room
on
Level
8
was
an
initial
encounter.
However,
the
driver
requested
our
presence
at
the
Level
3
lobby
for
pickup.
His
rationale,
making
sense,
questioned
why
e-hailing
passengers
should
navigate
to
Level
8
for
pickup.
A
drawback
emerged
on
car
park
at
Level
6A
due
to
inadequate
lighting,
potentially
compromising
safety,
particularly
for
women.
Notably,
the
parking
payment
machines
frequently
malfunctioned,
adding
inconvenience
to
the
experience.
The
mall,
though
bearing
the
name
"Sentral,"
lacked
vitality,
appearing
eerily
empty
save
for
the
livelier
atmosphere
at
Starbucks.
Only
Level
2
was
considered
alive
with
KFC,
Auntie
Anneβs,
Tea
Live
and
few
others.
The
overall
layout,
design,
and
service
of
the
mall
disappointed
me
profoundly,
arguably
ranking
among
my
least
satisfying
retail
experiences
in
Malaysia.
Addressing
these
issues,
the
management,
MMC/MRCB,
should
consider
a
comprehensive
overhaul
to
breathe
life
into
this
complex.
