We tried a South Indian thali meal and it was a nice experience. The plate featured a variety of dishes, including flavorful curries, rice, and traditional accompaniments. The authenticity of each dish showcased the restaurant's commitment to South Indian cuisine. The service and the staff was attentive. The pricing was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food provided. Overall, a satisfied.

Absolutely loved this place. Way better then Delhi one. Cleanliness was well maintained, prompt service. They have hung beautiful hand paintings all around the sitting area. Wished to take one of them home. We tried their breakfast tiffin, onion dosa, Idiyappam and coconut milk which was wonderful. 😍

Ordered one paneer dosa. Need to add few points. 1. Customer service is so poor. 2. The making of dosa was very worst. 3. Quality was poor too. Couldn't taste the dish. 4. Quantity of the panner in dosa was also bad. 5. Rate is 165 for a single paneer dosa. Never had such a worst experience over food. They charge you 165/- for a single paneer dosa and it turns out to be a disappointment. Never ever will suggest the place to anyone or step inside this restaurant one more time. Horrible experience.

I tried ghee masala dosa and loved it. The variety of chutneys, especially the coconut one, is my favorite. Sambar tasted average. It is slightly overpriced, but the quantity is more than sufficient for one person. Filter coffee was okay. Staff were very friendly.

The quality of food is going down day by day. The foot fall is also very less compared to few years back. The taste has down and as well as the service. The staff also seems to be less motivated which is having an impact on their service level. Even the neatness in the uniform of the staff has gone.

This hotel is the best example for how quick a hotel can go from the best to the worst. I went with my family for lunch. The meals was below average. Any vegetarian hotel in Chennai would serve a better meal. The mini-meal was even worse. The taste and quality has degraded to the lowest possible. Once, Saravana bhavan's Sambar was the best in Chennai and today we can't even taste it. The rice they serve seems to be IR 20 variety. Overall, one of the worst experiences in recent times.

This place is where you can try authentic Tamilian food. With great hygiene maintenance as well as good taste. These days you will also see Bisleri's Special edition bottle.

Saravana bhavan is known for their scrumptious south indian food. So I set out to try their most basic dosa. The packaging was good. I've never come across a restaurant serving dosa in this packaging. It was served with two types of chutney, red and green, and sambar. The red chutney was good but the green chutney was salty. The sambar could have been better. The dosa itself tasted good. Their filter coffee comes in a cup with a lid packaging. It was good. But not worth the price. Saravana Bhavan has a major hype when it comes to South Indian restaurants in Delhi. So, while on my visit to Chennai, I wanted to have its experience at the place it initiated. I tried their Lunch meal which, as seen in the pic, was a vibrant platter of various curries served with rice, and Payasam. The taste was good and the vibe of the place felt authentic. On the downside, I felt that the staff was a little less responsive. I also bought a pack of their store-packed snack called Seedai, which I didn't like much. Overall, this is a great recommendation for any tourist looking for a good South Indian lunch.

Strictly NOT RECOMMENDED. This is not the first time I'm dining here. It used to be good. Now it's the worst. First and foremost it's the staff, who make you feel why you came. There was a lady supervisor who was noting down orders. There was no crowd. She doesn't even pass the order note to the servers for 5 mins. If somebody questions here on the delay, the response and her reaction was rude, as such we are eating there for free. The servers are also not friendly at all. Coming to food, the taste and quality are really not up to the mark. Mini tiffin was charged for 160rs (without coffee). Compared to the mini tiffin at A2B and other restaurants, the food is not worth the money. I'm not coming again HSB.

Hidden in Kenneth lane, Spacious hotel and maintained well, comparing to other nearby hotels service is good as usual and restrooms are maintained well, family friendly. Missing old Saravana Bhavan taste. Coffee is asusual good, sambar vadai is fresh and this place is good for evening snack.

They have sufficient number of vegetarian menu, including almost all kind of South Indian dishes. I’ve tried Vegetarian Biriyani, Idly, Dosa, Chapati & few more dishes. I found everything fresh delicious. I found one thing very interesting which is they don’t like wasting water and tissue paper. Price is reasonable and their service is pleasant.

Once upon a time famous for super quality food but now the quality is not up to the customer expectation. Without improving quality they hike price every now and then and hence the visitor density reduced a lot and almost empty always.

I have taken parcel of kadai panneer and mushroom fried rice but I could literally see no panneer except chopped onion and tomato gravy. Even quantity of fries rice is very less. Even on the box of fried rice I found hair particle. I regret I wasted money at this restaurant.

Today (01/03/2024), trusting their reputed name, I went there to have dinner. Since I was single person, first I sat on a 2 chair table, after about 3 minutes, a serving boy came, told me in a rude manner, not to sit here and he kept a RESERVED tag there. Then I changed my table to where he told me to sit, waited more than 15 minutes, and not even a single person came to me to take the order. Plenty of staff were roaming there. I am surprised, why such a reputed hotel stays behaves in such a manner I went to them for begging or for their favors! Keep in mind that it is not the customer's requirement to walk into your business, but it's yours. I left without having food from there, and I had dinner from nearby another good vegetarian hotel, NAMMA VEEDU VASANTHA BHAVAN.

Overall the experience was good. Masala dosa was good and the chutney was also really tasty.

Highly overpriced but the foood is absolutely not worth it at all. Had got mushroom fried rice, Schezwan fried rice, chapati, mini meals and paneer 65. The chapatis were undercooked. The taste of food has deteriorated a bit from the past. That old good food taste is missing. Had recently visited 3 times in 2 days in March 2023 end. Also, I could see less number of crowds.

Today June 2023.For single meal parcel it cost 195rs. At this cost food quantity is less.Also taste is below average. Its better to go for sangeetha veg restaurant its cost only 125rs. And the food taste is like kalyana sapadu

The restaurant once had a huge reputation has declined in the recent past. these are the evidences based on recent visit I am furnishing my experience. I went to have my dinner by 8PM, Lot of tables are vacant but the service supervisor and the waiter to cater are little less limited. I waited hardly for 15 minutes there after I called the supervisor. he is much anxious to skip taking the order from me. after 10 minutes of hard wait the order was served. There after the glass with water was provided to me like after 2 -3 minutes delay. I was trying to ask the supervisor and the waiter for more dish but they are also seems little less limited. Trying to order the second dish with the supervisor but he left me unheard . The bill alone was provided to me by the waiter in hand before I did even had a handwash totally an unusual experience in restaurant industry
