    Peshawar Dabgari is the neighbourhood next to the Dabgari Gate. The Word “Dab-gari” has come out of “Dab”, an urdu word for barrels and casks, where “Gari” an urdu word for “the art of making”. As many barrel makers, (the Coopers), the Dab-gars, the ones who know the art of Cooperage, lived here, which is why the gate was called the Dabgari Gate.
