It has Mesical Surgical Paeds Obs and Gyne units along with radiology pathology orthopaedic nephrology and dermatology. There is a CCU and cardiac unit but it doesn't has cath lab for angiography and PCI. Neither cardiac surgery unit. It also doesn't has Neurosurgery unit. No centralised oxygen , Critical Care(ICU) is very deficient… There is no parking for emergency Patient.

Peshawar government hospital. 24 hours emergency ward. charges are nominal. wait time is normal. parking facility available. Environment is not very clean like HMC (Hayatabad Medical Complex) but ok. Medicine market near it where you can find many rare medicines which are short in local market. Overall recommended

Best Gynaecologist in Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar Gynaecologists are doctors who specialise in the treatment and diagnosis of problems and diseases related to the female reproductive system (uterus, Fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries, and vagina). Additionally, gynaecologists focus on all kinds of reproductive health issues that may arise, from puberty up until menopause. A gynaecologist or gynaecologist specializes in the field of gynaecology. Gynaecology or gynae deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with the female reproductive system. Another subspecialty is obstetrics, which exclusively deals with maternal health during pregnancy and childbirth. A doctor who specializes in the field of obstetrics is called an obstetrician. An obstetrician performs closely related duties to that of a gynaecologist. Therefore, most of the best gynaecologists in Khyber Teaching Hospital specialise in both fields, obstetrics as well as gynaecology and hence are collectively referred to as OB-GYN. A visit to the gynaecologist is due when girls and women face issues with their periods. Irregular, painful periods with heavy flow are common concerns that gynaecologists deal with all the time. Menopause is also a daunting stage in the life of a woman where the issues are aplenty. From cycle to hormones, if you have any such concerns, visiting the best gynaecologists in Khyber Teaching Hospital, is imperative. Similarly, you should visit the best gynaecologist in Khyber Teaching Hospital when you want to explore your contraception options and likewise, when you want to get pregnant. During pregnancy and for delivery, you should visit an OB-GYN or an obstetrician instead of relying on midwives alone. OB-GYNs have access to sophisticated testing equipment that better informs them of the health of the mother and child. Moreover, they also are fully equipped for an emergency delivery; natural or surgical, unlike midwives. Furthermore, you should visit a women’s doctor if you are having problems with muscles of the pelvic region, abdominal pain, inflammation in the pelvic region etc. Gynaecologists also deal with urinary and fecal incontinence, and hence women experiencing these issues ought to book an appointment with the best gynaecologist in Khyber Teaching Hospital. Ideally, women with a family history of uterine cancer or any other form of cancer pertaining to the reproductive system should visit the best gynaecologist in Khyber Teaching Hospital annually. A timely diagnosis can greatly increase the chances of survival. Gynaecologists also deal with sexual dysfunction. If you are experiencing painful sex, have low sex drive or have vaginal dryness, you should talk to your gynaecologist.

It is located on University Rd, Rahat Abad, Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This is one of the largest hospitals in the country. As a tertiary health-care facility, KTH serves as a major referral center in the region. This facility serves a large population, both domestic and foreign, in the north west region of Pakistan as well as in north eastern Afghanistan. This more than 1300 bedded hospital has most of the major and minor medical and surgical departments. Khyber Teaching Hospital, formerly Hayat Shaheed Teaching Hospital, was established in 1976 as a training and biomedical research facility for the medical students of the north western region of Pakistan, as well as the new teaching affiliate of the best medical school in the region, Khyber Medical College. Khyber Teaching Hospital has developed into a major health care facility in the region.

I have seen so much doctors in my profession. Senior colleagues, batch mates, and juniors but doctors of KTH were so nice and trained that I started to upgrade my mindset and change myself from insight out. The nursing staff are so experienced and qualified. I had to be given intravenous fluids and I didn't realise that I was cannulated. This shows how experienced they really are.. The security staff is so vigilant that you can't expect a mishap by the grace of Almighty Allah.

Khyber Teaching Hospital has developed into a major health care facility in the region The hospital was commissioned in 1976 for the development of scientific and research base of the Province. It is an architectural marvel shaped in an octagon with extensions of Y shaped wings that form a wide number of its inpatient units. The present capacity of beds is 1202, with incremental increases every few years. As of September 2013, a major revamp and reconstruction of its emergency facilities is underway with a multi-storeyed building for the proposed Emergency Department and Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program. To facilitate smooth influx and patient transport, recently constructed under ground passage and the over-head bridge have made safer the smooth flow of patients and students between KMC, Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine (IRNUM) and KTH. From 1976 to 2000, constant up-gradations have taken place within the developmental phases of the 3 tertiary care hospitals of the city. As a result, these institutions have been transformed into more effective, viable and productive institutions benefiting patients, undergraduate and postgraduate trainees and are playing major role in the human resource development in the health sector for the region. Khyber Medical College, the first medical school of the province, came into existence in February, 1954. Fulfillment of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council requirements necessitated the creation of a Teaching Hospital. Initially Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, the then district headquarters hospital, was utilized for the purpose. But sooner the need was felt to have a teaching hospital in close proximity to the college. Plan for such a hospital was initiated in 1958 and the idea finally materialized, when General Mohammad Musa, the Governor West Pakistan, laid the foundation stone of Khyber Teaching Hospital (at that time named as Ayub Teaching Hospital) on 30 November 1967. Khyber Medical College, an undergraduate institution, has been improving the quality of service provided to the patients. Through its various teaching departments it has upgraded the quality service program. The provincial assembly of North West Frontier Province has passed the act for upgradation of Khyber Medical College and Khyber College of Dentistry to Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar. Khyber College of Dentistry as department of Dentistry was created in 1964. It was upgraded from the status of a department of Khyber Medical College in 1990. Dr. Ahmad Iqbal was appointed as first Chairman and Principal of the Khyber College of Dentistry. The first batch graduated in 1968 and Pakistan medical and dental council accorded recognition to B.D.S degree in Nov 1968. From the modest start it has grown to become a fully developed teaching institute with its modern Oral and Dental hospital. Surgeries, Operation theater and wards were included in its building with pace of time. School of Nursing Khyber Teaching Hospital also works as an allied institution with KTH for training of student nurses since inception of the institution. The examination and award of degree for Khyber Medical College, Khyber College of Dentistry, B.Sc Nursing is performed by University of Peshawar, whereas for Nursing School the job is done by the Board of Nursing Peshawar.

This hospital deserve 0 stars. One of the worst Government Hospital in Peshawar. Especially the security and management department are rude and useless. This is i think against the Medical Rules because it's role is to kill your patient instead of treatment.

It's a very historic hospital serving the health needs of people from KP and Afghanistan for more than 5 decades. It's having almost all the known specialities if medical sciences at present and the facilities are repeatedly upgraded as new advances come in to practice. The doctors and all the employees and staff of the hospital are competent and helpful. Building is purposedly built and heating and cooling facilities are fine. Cleanliness is good. Overall it's recommended for all sorts of facilities of medical sciences at present.

It's a good hospital interms of a government hospital in Pakistan. The hospital lacks facilities like housekeeping, and there are more patients, which takes much more time for each patient to complete all the checkups and tests in one day.

Government hospital of KP capital. It has a very low cost and highly equipped emergency sector where every kind of medical emergency can be handled. Apart from that for normal patients it provides good facilities to help them in curing. OPD services are good. And it also provides medical education as it is teaching hosital.

One of the third class hospital in respect of Gynaecology services I found KTH today. The pathetic situation is that a Gynae patient will undergoes all the tests after a hectic and cumbersome pre admission administrative process. When the patient is recommended for admission at labour room having surgery case then the butchers will tell you in an arrogant language that they have large number of other patients to operate and if some thing adverse happens in the meanwhile then they will not be responsible and tells you to opt for a private hospital. The govt have wasted its public money on this rubbish hospital. Not recommended to admit or go for admission of even a goat for Gynae treatmemt.

Polio vaccine certification process: You go through the main gate (GT Road) to the room No 1. Take passport with you!! There they will make the certificate and do the entry and give you drops of vaccine. And put a mark on your thumb. You take the certificate and get it stamped by the OPD Incharge (office located next to Reception). It’s stamped and you are done! All free.

The emergency department is usually found in a hospital or other primary care centre. Due to the unplanned nature of patient attendance, the department must provide initial treatment for a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which may be life-threatening and require immediate attention. In some countries, emergency departments have become important entry points for those without other means of access to medical care. The emergency departments of most hospitals operate 24 hours a day, although staffing levels may be varied in an attempt to reflect patient volume.

Hospital is so much over crowded, every where there are queues where people would try to get ahead of you by what ever mean possible. Doctors are surrounded in their chairs by a patients from all directions. GOVT needs to make more hospitals in Peshawar on ring road and warsak road. Really depressing experience.

It takes time here due to rush of people but it has its value in taking care of patients. no matter from where and what time they arrive, what disease they are with, how severe is the condition and how much medical effort patient require: the medical and administartive stop is eager to help, provide short guidance and spend maximum of their professional expertise in curing the patient. Only point of concern is lack of patience from attendees and patients in getting their laboratory results and their turn for tests. My hats off to KTH Staff for their efforts in keeping people cured.

Some of the evening doctors like Dr Sheta Gastroenterology are not supposed to be using such a great government facility. She does not know any humanity nor she has any health values .

Yes it is developed one , having health facilities. KTH was earlier known as Hayat Shaheed Teaching Hospital but now called Khyber Teaching Hospital. Khyber Medica College is attached to this hospital and this hospital is considered second biggest hospital of the province. This hospital earlier used to take all the burden of the Jamrud Road and connecting areas but now Hayatabad Medical Complex shares the burden.

Being one of the three primary hospitals in KP in govt sector, KTH is one of the most unpleasant to go for treatment bcoz of its management and lack of facilities!!! Most of its clinical means are not working.... Its not about only to build a gigantic edifice...... Besides this it must have all the facilities required for patients!!

😠 I have chemotherapy in this hospital. 1, Poor management always gives you the wrong appointment time, and you always need to wait for a minimum of 3 to 4 hrs for your turn. This is big trouble for patients, and if you came from Rawalpindi, ISB, then just for an appointment, keep 11, 12 hrs in mind....
