Read a lot about this place, being a vegetarian Japanese restaurant. It might seem like a novelty at first, and I was eager to try. Getting there was quite easy, but parking can be a bit on the tough side as there is a row of parking spots in front and to the side which is a little too dark for comfort. The restaurant is located on the first floor and you have to ring the doorbell in order to gain access. Inside is cosily arranged, with a tatami seating area to the back and regular tables in front. Nothing fancy, except for the menu which is beautifully bedecked with glossy pictures. With the lights down a little low, I must say the dark coloured menu was a little hard to read. The ordered food arrived not too long after. There were hits and misses, sadly, more of the latter than the former. The tempura mushrooms were good. Juicy and sweet with just the right crunchiness. The sushi set (RM40) was not quite up to expectations. It was beautifully arranged, but I had expected more in terms of variety in tastes and textures. The spicy ramen left us trying to figure out what the soup reminded us of until someone remarked - it’s got hints of Assam laksa! The potato wedges were also a let down. For that price, you are served some wedges with mayonnaise on it. The popular edamame fried rice was tasty, but lacked that little bit of richness to push it off the edge to make it really good. All-in-all, for about RM120, it seemed a little pricey for a vegetarian meal, but I guess novelty has its price.

We dropped by for lunch and found that this restaurant has a pleasant decor. There is a section with low tables like a traditional Japanese restaurant. They serve a variety of sushi, noodles and rice based dishes with creative names like Black God, Curly Noodle and Rainy Day. The mango sushi and Rainy Day, which is a mee hoon soup dish, were excellent. The line and nutmeg drinks were good too. Service was friendly and the food took some time to be served as sushi is only prepared when ordered. The restaurant is located on the first floor and reachable by a flight of stairs which makes it inaccessible to wheelchair users. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the food. Worth a future visit to try other items in their menu.

It is truly a hidden gem for Japanese vegetarian! Starting from the menu, it has a variety of choices to choose from, all of them are very special and it makes me want to try them all! Their sushi blown us away cause they basically use very basic ingredients (based on what they write on the menu), but the combination of those ingredients taste amazing! We had the Couple Happiness Sushi where there are few types of sushi on one plate, each of them has its own unique taste. But the one that I liked the most was the Global Warming Sushi. The seaweed was deep fried, making the outer part of the sushi crispy. Next is the Miso Udon. The texture of the udon is not as Q as some other shop but the soup is sooooo addictive, and it feels just like something that we have at home. Happy spicy noodle was also one of the most recommended dishes which we then ordered. It tastes like tomyam at first, maybe because of the lemongrass and some other herbs, but it was equally addictive. Not as spicy, I think the spicy level is just nice. The noodles are yee mee, something that I didn't expect it to be at a Japanese Vegetarian restaurant, but the noodles and the soup surprisingly complements each other quite well. Overall a satisfying experience as the the shop has a relaxing atmosphere, price was reasonale, service was good and food was of course top notch. Just wondering why there were just a few tables on a Sunday night.

A lovely relaxed atmosphere with an excellent selection of vegan food and good Japanese fusion vibe. I've yet to try the udon, fried rice or porridge dishes, but the sushi and tempeh I've tried so far have been very creative and flavourful. The food is cheap, which makes this place fantastic value for money, if happily pay double for this experience If you've got a really promising first date and know what to order, this is the perfect place in my opinion 🙃 Their menu is attractive, clear and easily highlights their best dishes. The spices inari and happiness sushi were delightful! The dishes are a little bit hit and miss but mostly hits and so far, they are all out of the park! My highly recommended from here would be there the spices inari, it was the best inari experience hands down. Also the happiness couple and bachelor are fantastic sampler sushi plates. The spicy tempeh is a mandatory experienced every time. The ref sea udon was done really well. The are a few more "famous" dishes that they recommend that I've yet to try I was so impressed I'm making this place officially my new favourite vegan sushi place!

The lunch set is worth it! It comes with a choice of appetiser, 4 pcs of sushi, a choice of main and a energy tea, all for only RM23.90! So happy to have found a japanese restaurant that’s vegan. The food is great however my friend had the endamame fried rice, it was a little bit too salty. Environment is quite cozy, staffs were friendly too.

My very first time having vegetarian japanese dishes. Was abit skeptical at first until i tasted their dishes. Was pleasantly surprised that it was quite tasty. Had their mushroom tempura, rainbow maki, miso udon and their red sea udon. The mushroom tempura is very crispy and good. The rainbow maki is delicious. Miso udon is not too bad, the broth is not too heavy. Good if you dont want a too strong broth. The red sea udon was just ok for me. The description had me expecting more. But it was still tasty nonetheless. Overall it is a nice cozy place. Price is reasonable to slight high. Parking is not really an issue. Just that the place is located on the first floor. A little hard to locate if you are going for the first time. If you see a mynews store... its just a few doors down upstairs.

Tasty vegan food! It was our first time here and we made a reservation for dinner. We ordered the set meal which was delicious and value for money. The spicy Red Sea soup was amazing! Hard to find such flavourful spicy soup that doesn’t use any meat. Edamame fried rice was good too. Their range of sushi was all tasty. Inari sushi tasted fresh. RM25/pax with set and free flow green tea! Pls like my review if you found it helpful. (:

Been here before and we were very happy with the staffs but this time not satisfied at all. The guy staff was very friendly with chinese customers only. Even when he took order his voice wasn’t as happy as he was with chinese customers only. I don’t know why it happens here in Malaysia but I think business owners should train their staffs to be very friendly. It’s very heartbreaking to eat when you don’t get the respect.

Upon searching about this place, my partner and I had no expectations but just wanted to try a different cuisine in vegetarian. We were definitely blown away by what we experienced! Many reviews mentioned about the limited parking spaces, but to be fair upon driving to the back there are quite an abundance of parking due to this outlet being part of the residence's commercial tenant. We ordered their Happy spicy noodle, Golden miso noodle and the Couple Happiness sushi platter. Each dish has its own specialty, personally the Golden Miso noodle was the bomb! Drinking the miso soup just gave us a really homely feel, and we can't stop wanting for more! Not to mention the deeply fried mushroom which came with the dish, it was extremely crispy with slight sprinkle of salt. For the Happy spicy noodle, the spiciness kicks in after the first bite, which is really sudden yet brings this excitement to us while we slurp down the whole bowl. The Couple Happiness sushi platter was a real treat, with each sushi being distinctive and flavourful on its own. It's really amazing how the chef is able to create such flavour and eating experience, despite it's all vegetarian. Will we come back again? A big Yes! And this place deserves more attention with the quality and price they're offering, which makes the culinary experience much more enjoyable.

The price is lower than what I anticipated. The environment is cozy. Food serving is timely. The waiter is friendly, and even gave us their flagship sushi for free. Taste is healthy. Food portion is great, and big enough for me.

We were there for dinner, ordered alot of food. The waitress informed me curtly no outside food allowed when she saw my young kids were having some biscuits. She's clearly not child friendly. You should display a sign 'ONLY adults allowed' if you don't welcome kids. No point having kids cutleries when you glare at them at your shop. Although food is good, I won't visit a place if my kids aren't welcome too.

So ladies and gents, what I don't like about Sushi Kitchen: there's just one branch?? *confusion* I took my friends here the other day and other than their occasional "aiya if only there's a little meat in the sushi", they admitted to having had enjoyed their first vegan japanese dining experience. I, on the other hand, LOVEEEE this place and have visited Sushi Kitchen quite a few times. Just from writing this review, I find myself craving the inaris and mango sushi. Oh dear... P.S., truly enjoyed everything in the photos: 1. Golden Age Sushi (Mango) RM18 2. Happy Spicy Noodle RM12 3. Sushi Kitchen Inari (w. Floss) RM7 4. Spices Inari RM7 4. Golden Porridge RM11

Food: 2/5, although they selling "healthy vegan" as their main core ideas, but food ingredients was so poor. Service quality: 0/5, very lousy & horrible service, it takes more than 1 hour to serve our food & drinks. Same drinks order request 3 times they still can make mistake when served. Try to visit if you have a heart of Buddha.

It was our first visit and I could say it is sadly overrated. There is much room for improvement in terms of the service, taste and variety. The wait was dreadful and incomprehensible - it took them around 1.5 hours to serve our food! I doubt we'll return.

As a non-vegan, I enjoy the vegan options here, especially the Japanese noodle soup. Price is affordable while taste is good, also the service staff are friendly 👍

  • 1/5 Weley W. 1 year ago on Google
First time here waited for 45min foods yet to serve with reasons, the foods are fresh cook and coincidently overwhelming customers today. In my opinion, if your kitchen not ready to cope with the orders perhaps consider to increase no of workers or shrink the table capacity. Otherwise, keeping the customers waiting too long not a pleasant dine-in experience after all unless being told upfront. Food was good overall.

Normal presentation, cheap food ingredients, plain taste. Not sincere on ingredients used in food. Not worth the price.. 2 people ended up with RM70++ and not full. Overpriced. Not going bad again.

EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE and VERY LOUSY COMMUNICATION. The food is not half bad. The 4 course set menu came with a 2-piece sushi roll, a choice of spaghetti or ramen, green tea or nutmeg, and a handroll. I made my 2 selections (ramen and green tea) then added 2 more items a la carte. When I asked the wait staff how big the portion was, she pointed to the picture and said it was potato wedges. I scratched my head and moved on. Then I asked about the payment methods accepted there, the wait staff didn't know. And as it turned out, there was another selection I had to make with the handroll on the set menu but that was not explained in the menu. The wait staff ended up thinking I was ordering everything a la carte. I had to wait for the 2-piece sushi meant as starters til after I had eaten my main course. And it took lots of explaining on their part and my part to finally sort out the miscommunication. At that point, I was so "hangry" I decided to write this review sitting in the restaurant. This restaurant has lots of potential but the human touch is completely missing. The manager did offer to comp my meal but I rejected.

  • 1/5 Bryan L. 8 months ago on Google
Others were okay, but the happy spicy noodle was a huge disappointment with this kind of presentation. It doesn't make people happy at all but bring only sadness. Feels like maybe I cook Maggi Curry at home would be much better.

This place isn't just good vegan food, it's good food, period. Once again we have ended up at the Sushi Kitchen, Kota Damansara. We do try other restaurants but we are eternally grateful that Sushi Kitchen is on our doorstep. We do vary our starter but nearly always start with the Mushroom Tempura - a firm favourite with us Malaysian cuisine is known to be spicy, but sometimes it’s not nearly enough for those who like it extra pedas. That is why The Happy Spicy dish ordered with a rating of 10 - the highest always hits the spot and keeps us going back for more. Stunningly unbelievable! I'm drooling as I'm writing this review...... Of course, not everything on the menu is as spicy but whether it is the Global warming maki or the spicy and G-ken floss inside out roll, the food here is consistently good! Always so satisfying.
