👍👍 Foods here is really delicious and high quality. The price is very affordable despite the high-class-ambience of the restaurant. Staffs here were very helpful and polite as well. Overall the dining experience here was remarkable and will definitely visit again to fix my Japanese cuisine cravings. Ordered pretty much everything from each category except noodles! What we had were assorted sashimi (7 types), salmon belly 5 pieces, 5 fancy maki variations topped with mentai sauce, fish roe, avocado etc. Also fried prawn stuffed maki. Some sushi items for my little son. Edamame, natto with lotus roots, okra etc. Also teriyaki sauced eel set that comes with typical chawanmushi, miso soup, rice and some cut fruits. Also, looking at pics, we ordered assorted bbq ed skewers. Lastly packed icecream , Japanese cheese cakes. After all these, the price reached around rm520. To be honest, the overall food is tasty, but nothing to shout out! In particular, the 7 types of assorted sashimi is a pure waste of money, which only have paper thin sliced fishes and equally thin octopus and cuttlefish fishes. Considering the heptic price of rm 120 something, it should be more thicker and bigger. Equally bad for money value is that salmon sashimi that's way too tiny in size and so thin that i even barely had tasted. So, a salmon belly crazy like my husband thought he was so upset that point coz he couldn't enjoyed 1 tiny piece alone, so he had to pick 3 pieces together to savoring at a time. And voila! The rm 40 something is simply evaporated in a blink. I guess that's why we 4 of us including 1 child, ordered around 5 maki rolls to fill up our stomach. Then the makis rolls aren't cheap either, which the prices range from rm 28 to rm 40. What's more, the assorted bbq ed skewers set is a kinda joke that's just bunch of low quality mushrooms, leeks, okra etc that cost around rm 40 something. The only thing great was the big size eel set that's rm 59 ++. Even though it's still not cheap, at least the quality justify the price. I personally love the natto and lotus grilled, but it would have been even better if less saltier. Okra in miso mixed sesame sauce is not tasty! Last, not least, the seasoning octopus we ordered, arrived so so late only after we reminded 3 staff about it. That point, now I'm thinking we should have canceled it when i received a cold tiny saucy cut octopus in a tiny tiny bowl. I regretted that why we had ordered this after all. The ice creams and cheese cakes are highly over priced at over rm 12 ~ , considering they are all commercially super market sold items.

    - Sake Oyako Don Zen Wasn't quite what I saw from the menu, given less salmon sashimi than thought. Still, the generous portions and flavorful sides kept me very satisfied. The salmon, though not as abundant as advertised, was fresh and tender, melting in my mouth with each bite. It was exactly what I needed after a busy day, and I left feeling happy and full. A bit unsatisfactory: No staff were available at the counter to process my payment. I had to wait to find staff to pay, which could be improved by ensuring someone is always available at the counter. Ohya! And their dragon fruit provided not fresh

Located within the One World Hotel, Kura Japanese Restaurant has the same owner as Rakuzen - so the menu and price is very similar. I recommend you to try the Monkfish liver as an appetizer - it is very delicious, but it may be an acquired taste. Their set meals are worth the price and it comes with their excellent Chawanmushi. We made reservations and came on time, so we didn’t face any problems getting seated at peak dinner hours. Even though the restaurant was full, it remained relatively quiet as there are a number of private rooms. Service was fast and servers are quite attentive.

Overall not too bad experience during a full house dinner service.. Pricing is reasonable with the portions.. Was given a seat at sushi counter, excellent customer service and observant Head Chef 👍👍 He greets customers as they arrive/leave 👍👍

Very popular Japanese restaurant. Always fully booked unless you willing to have late lunch and dinner. Recommend to make booking especially for dinner as all the tables would be fully booked when they are open for dinner. They have a separate lunch menu which is similar to the dinner menu but cheaper and some different items like tendon set. Recommend to go from 11.30am as no one will be there yet for lunch. Price is definitely higher but portion and quality is better as well.

Unagi roll with avocado 🥑 is quite good. The beef slice bowl was a bit too wet until the sauce soak by the rice too much. Ikura sushi and salmon is yummy n fresh. Garlic fried rice and tempura taste okay, not bad and the beef cube teppanyaki was good. Please note they share the same menu as Rakuzen Japanese restaurant.

Nice cosy Japanese restaurant with good food. Although slightly pricey than the rest, it still has good value compared to the overall food quality and dining experience. Lots if private niches. Staff are attentive and service is good. Overall a good dining venue for any family occasion.

Marvellous! What’s the best part of a family trip or gathering? It must be - I can try many many dishes in one time oh yeah. So here is my review in photos! we really ordered as much as we could hehe. Tasty and fresh. Services and environment is fantastic and the price is reasonable for this location. Clean. It’s recommended and I think it’s worth to give it a try. Nobody can resist fresh sweet prawn sashimi hehe!

Good food, live that it comes with very private seating areas however the aircon is way too cold and because of the very private seating style, you don't get to see the servers often so it was hard to call for them. Only had my tea refilled once throughout the meal. Went for the dinner bento (RM130) and really enjoyed the food; fresh sashimi, tempura and other sides. Miso and oden was too salty.

Providing alternatives because this overpriced and over crowded place does not adhere to seating etiquette (funny cuz this was meant to be high class) and caters to customers who just cut into the line. Walk past this restaurant coming from the hotel, turn left and take the escalator down to the street for pleating of great dining options: 1. Gantetsu 2. Menya Musashi 3. Sushiya formerly Ichiro

We are regulars at Kura but have not visited a couple of months due to the Fukushima situation. Kura usually has higher quality and standard compared to the other Rakuzens. They offer items that other Rakuzen do not offer like Red Akagai etc. Unfortunately this visit the standard is subpar. Firstly the main sushi chef was not there so quality control is definitely compromised. 1st item that arrived was negitoro maki. Visually is was unappetising as the shape was irregular and ratio of sushi to filling is totally off. The next item was kampachi sashimi. I was surprised to see a slice of lemon was there. That immediately gave me the idea that it was not fresh enough and they were hoping the scent of lemon can cover it. Normally in Kura, they do not have lemon in their kampachi sashimi. The rest of the orders were okay. They gave us 2x complimentary salad which was a nice touch. I noticed the number or diners have dropped significantly as there were many empty seats as compared to before. Well all in all, experience was disappointing but I do hope they will raise their standards back again.

At the first glance of the menu, the price looks reasonable for the food. Getting to dine in here always require reservation unless willing to dine in after 8.30pm. The environment is good and comfortable and the service is alright. However was very disappointed with the food quality here. The sashimi cut was small and thin slice and with the price that they charge is totally not worth it. Even a normal japanese restaurant can be more generous. The grilled cheese oyster was also a nightmare because it is not fresh at all and I could not even swallow it. The rest of the food are similar too. I would not come to this restaurant again !!

My 1st time to Kura and it did not disappoint. We walked-in trying our luck since it was just the 2 of us. However, I would recommend to call for rsvp because it was full house. We were in luck there were available seats when we arrived. Foods: Salmon sashimi is fresh and melted in mouth, other than that; we had stamina roll, dragon roll, pari pari kani salada, kaki gratan (oyster cheese grilled). Price : Though the price is on the high end, suits well with the food quality, taste-wise and dining environment and experience. Will i return to Kura : Definitely yes!

Food was tasty and atmosphere was casual and classy at the same time. However I would have expected better service. We went in a big group and had booked a private room with required minimum spend of RM1400. We ordered a big bottle of sake and wanted it served in a mixture of warm and cold. Waitress who served us sake was not friendly but served it as we wished anyhow. It could have been better. Restaurant is in One World and parking is very expensive there. You can park in one utama shopping center and take a 5-10 mins walk within the mall to reach the restaurant.

Service was lovely. From the front line manager taking my queue number as well as the sashimi chefs working the sushi bar. Extra kudos to above and beyond service from the sashimi chef who treated extra sushi because the rice for my soft shell crab roll was freshly cooked, hence soft and slightly mushy. Tasted splendid regardless.

Terrible and lousy dining experience. The place is unhygienic & lacks cleanliness. There's more than one flies flying around, and it was extremely disturbed! Voiced out to the servers, but they only provided us candles to set on the tables, which doesn't address the issue. The servers' attitude is very rude too. Average food. Not recommended.

It's nice that we got a private room just that the patron next to our room were a bit too loud. We find all dishes very delicious and service was good too. Strongly recommended.

Wonderful experience at KURA Japanese Restaurant. We got a private room for 7, min spent Rm500 per room. The space in the room was a bit small and the table could barely fit all our food haha. But overally we had a good time. They are currently shorthanded as we press bell for a few times and waited patiently, there are limited response. Food wise, awesome! Everything was fresh and prepared in the spot. Thumbs up! 👍🏻

I felt that they were lack of manpower today as we waited a while to be attend at entrance. Service not that fast. Salmon maki sushi’s rice was not well cooked and raw. They have good beef set meals here. Enjoyed both beef rice and sukiyaki beef were delicious. Set meals are totally worth it. Hope they can improve staffs service or hire more crews.
