This
is
a
famous
bridge
in
St.
Petersburg
that
crosses
the
Fontanka
River
along
Nevsky
Prospekt.
It
is
a
relatively
short
crossing
that
is
decorative
and
features
four
landmark
sculptures
of
horse
tamers.
Constructed
in
1841-42,
the
bridge
features
appealing
iron
railings.
However,
the
highlight
is
seeing
the
four
large
horse
tamer
sculptures,
which
were
installed
at
the
two
ends
of
the
bridge
between
1849-50.
These
are
individually
impressive
works
of
art,
particularly
for
those
who
enjoy
viewing
sculptures
and
statues.
Note:
The
Anichkov
Bridge
and
its
sculptures
are
particularly
nice
to
see
when
viewed
from
the
opposite
bank
to
the
pink
coloured
Beloselsky-Belozersky
Palace.
If
you
position
yourself
correctly,
you
can
capture
all
in
the
same
frame,
allowing
some
decent
pictures
to
be
taken.
In
the
end,
we
liked
the
Anichkov
bridge.
This
is
a
quick
attraction
to
view
and
enjoy
if
you
find
yourself
in
this
area
of
St.
Petersburg
during
your
visit
to
the
city.
