    Fantastic quiet, inspirational, beautiful little village. Unspoilt by tourism. Great for hiking, biking, swimming in one of the numerous waterfalls, hanging lazy in a hammock, eating, drinking a beer.

    The best place to reconnect with nature. It is a Forest Reserve Area, and all kinds of hunting are strictly forbidden. Since the surroundings became protected and monitored by IBAMA plenty of animal species started showing up and reappearing in the region. The ecotourism is a growing activity nearby.

    A beautiful quiet place 2 hours from Rio, excellent to run away from the chaos and heat that the city is so abundant with. It is a kind of elite refuge, so don't expect lower prices than in Rio. On the contrary. Arrive with the full tank because, believe it or not, gas is even more expensive in the hills than on the beach.
