The Siam Society was founded in 1904 in cooperation with Thai and foreign scholars. The Society quickly became a learned society whose members included many of the most illustrious historians, archaeologists and epigraphers of that period. It was not long before it moved beyond its original narrow confines to its current location in the centre of Bangkok to meet the needs of a much wider audience. From the beginning, the Society has been dedicated to the objectives of encouraging the study and enjoyment of the art, science, culture and natural history of Thailand and its neighbours, and to making this knowledge and experiences more widely available to local and international communities. In 1932, the first permanent office and library facilities were built on land generously donated to the Society by Mr. A.E.Nana.In 1997, the Chalerm Phra Kiat Building, constructed in honour of the 50th anniversary of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne, was completed, housing the library, exhibition space, meeting rooms and office for Society staff.

Nice venue for wedding but good for small group around 100-200 guests. Great location as its located in the heart of city with very close to MRT & BTS stations.

Fantastic trip to Cambodia called: "A Journey trough the Khmer Era". Crossing the border from Thailand to Cambodia was quite adventurous and visiting the historical sites such as Preah Vihear an unforgettable experience! Everything was extremely well organised! A big Thank You!

After 1 hour walking at Benjakiti Park near Queen SiriKit Convention Center, I had a breakfast at Black Canyon @Siam Society, just about 800 metres away or less than 10 minutes walk, at Asoke junction near underground train station. Best coffee in town with wonderful cuisine and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Beautiful venue. The most impressive part is the collection of books held by the library- consist of interesting books on South Asia - a place one can spent days reading through. The staff were very friendly. A gentleman spoke perfectly English provided a tour on the spot. Enjoyable place for visiting!

Siam Society operates Ban Kamthieng and share space with the museum. Siam Society is the publisher of the renowned Journal of the Siam Society and a valiant preserver of traditional Thai culture.

I'm a lifetime member and scholar there and used to give lectures there frequently; but with Covid we have to be careful of large gatherings.

The Siam Society is organising cultural events on a regular basis. They are also renting out the amazing venue for cultural events organised by other players in Bangkok. Highly recommended!

The Siam Society has been the premier academic society focusing kn Thailand and its environs for more than a hundred years. Their compound on Asoke roas is a green oasis amidst all the concrete jungles that completely surrounds it.

There is a beautiful and classic coffee shop called Black Canyon. Delicious coffee, delicious food, and the best all-day breakfast too. This so so convenient.

Words alone cannot do justice to the extreme lengths and superhuman efforts our Sri Lanka Study Tour leader, Madame Ambassador Chulamanee Chartsuwan has dedicated to this trip. I came out of this true pilgrimage to the most sacred Buddhist sites and wondrous Sri Lanka spiritually, emotionally enriched beyond my imagination, and only have the highest praise and admiration for Madame Chulamanee. This was the trip of a lifetime, to say the least. Thank you so much.

A disappointment: The place was empty. I was told that the exhibition had ended and nothing subsequent had yet been announced. The adjacent traditional Thai houses were also nearly empty. At this time I would not recommend taking the time to visit. 😢

Interesting collection of books on various cultural (studies) subjects in multiple languages (majority Thai and English). However the library is rather small, the quality of books they have on their shelves is high. The AC at the lower floor of the library is too cold while the temperature at the higher floor is too warm.
