It doesn't deserve this score. I just climbed the mountain back to the hotel. It was only nine o'clock, but no one, no street lights. I was very nervous as I walked through the forest. The hotel looks good from the outside, but the location is too far. Suitable for those who want to isolate themselves from the world. Obviously there is an empty room facing the sea. But the boss didn't give it to me, but arranged it in a place with a bad view, I tried but failed. All in all, this makes for a mediocre travel experience.

Do you want to visit a piece of paradise? Do you prefer serenity over party? Can you handle a 160 step stairway? … then I REALLY recommend HIP resort. TL;DR Incredible view over the bay, friendly staff, clean bungalows, well kept premises, premium beds, excellent breakfast, long white beach, best snorkeling. We (5 adults) have stayed a week and have already extended the stay one more week. We have been to Thailand a number of times over 30 years and this place has all what we came here for. *Location* HIP and its Long Beach has a “small piece of paradise feeling” rather than the Phi Phi party mood. You will not even know that the base is pumping over at Tonsai pier. All the bungalows are situated on the top of a steep hill, guarded by the dreaded 160 step stairway. Don’t worry - I am 60 years, weighing in at 100 kg and didn’t mind. Just take your time going up. Maybe a stop now and then to catch your breath - and loose it again over the breathtaking view! Going down is easy and the stairway ends right on the beach where you’ll find a PADI diving center and several restaurants and bars. You will arrive and leave with a complimentary long-tail boat from/to the Tonsai pier, so communicate your plans to the staff. For other occasions there is a 35-45 min walking path, or 100B/pax taxi boats - 150B after sunset. We walked there and took a night boat back. *Bungalows* The houses are well kept, cleaned every day and we experienced no insects what so ever in the bungalows. Out in the lovely garden and at the bars and restaurants you might need a mosquito repellant in the early morning and in the evening (sold in the reception). The cheaper rooms have “garden view”, but if you are willing to pay for a seaview, you sure will get your moneys worth! *Restaurant* The breakfast (included in price) has fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, pancakes, different styles of egg, fresh juice, and great coffee. I seldom have better breakfast anywhere. It is not a buffet, you tick off your choices on a menu. Self service of strong coffee and fresh juice. Few guests have their dinners at the hotel or use their bar, as the beach has more of an evening atmosphere. The hotel is currently extending the terrace with the best sunset view, so this could change. We did have one dinner in the hotel restaurant - the food proved to be excellent (one of us stated that it was her best so far) and the plates were nicely decorated. *Staff* Everyone is friendly and helpful. If you meet them with a smile you will find that they happily help you with whatever you might need. For more complicated matters, you will find the few fluent English speaking staff in the reception or in the restaurant. They helped us with going to a good local doctor, transfer arrangements, many minor things and even lended us cash before we had the time to visit the ATM at Tonsai pier. *Beach* The beach is called Long Beach for a reason and has that white sand and green-blue sea that you have dreamt of. Watch out for the sea urchins on the stone bottom outside the sand, especially at low tide. There are long-tail boats frequently passing by just outside the beach - don’t let them irritate you, they are part of the scenery. Mama’s Kitchen is perfect for a lunch snack and The Beach resort has the best food for dinner. *Snorkeling* I am an avid snorkeler and I prefer hotels with a house reef. HIP has the famous reef Shark Point just outside the beach! I just came back from an early morning snorkeling tour - a wonderful experience, I saw 50+ different marine life forms, among them the Black-tipped reef sharks that gave the reef its name. Swim out to the reef at 7am and lie still for 20 minutes in the gap between the two outer visible parts, and you will almost be guaranteed to see several of the shy sharks. You need to be careful on the 50-100m swim over to the reef as there are long-tail boats crossing your path. They’ll watch out for you too, but be safe. You’re the guest in paradise for a limited time; be kind, smile to everyone and make sure you enjoy it. Sawadee!

We checked in and out almost immediately. We were put in a room on the back without the view (besides the fact that we booked the one with the view), the room was in really bad conditions (the front door has a huge gap, excellent for all the mosquitos in the island), water from tap was brown and with pressure issues, the bathroom was … i cannot describe). The staff was friendly and understanding when we wanted to leave tho.

The rooms were basic but cosy and the view was beautiful. Enjoy breakfast with the most breathtaking view of the Andaman sea and Phi Phi Leh. The hotel is located ~200m from shark point. It is very easy to swim out (despite some current) and chase some blacktip reef sharks. The walk to town is around 20-30min but it is a very enjoyable stroll along long beach and through a 'well paved' jungle. Quite atmospheric at night! The staff are very friendly and helpful. They can also help arrange a private longtail boat trip to Phi Phi Leh, Bamboo Island.

The location is amazing, the views from the eatery is gorgeous. The captains are very nice and capable even in adverse weather conditions. There are a lot of stairs (145 according to other reviews) but there are breaks between flights, so long as you don’t have mobility issues you should be fine. There is a pulley cart for luggage, so don’t worry about your belongings. The staff and owner are all very friendly. Breakfast includes a range of options (pancakes, eggs, sausage/bacon, congee, muesli, fruit and yoghurt) and you can order as much as you want (within reason). The restaurant serves dinner but not lunch, and is passable. The rooms can be a bit unusual for some( there is no door between the bedroom and the sink, but there is one between the sink and toilet). The comments about the rooms being on stilts are ridiculous - it is completely normal and safe in this part of the world, and most hotels on the island will feature this. The cats which hang around are simply adorable and very friendly and they are treated very well by the staff.

Price performance does not fit at all. The whole facility makes a run-down impression. Only the most necessary things are repaired. The location is also not good. To get to the center, you have to take one of the totally overpriced long tail boats or walk inside the island. But this is only recommended during the day. The breakfast is small and unkind and the same every day. You should be reasonably fit to manage the 150 steps from the beach to the bungalows. Also the view from most of the bungalows is not very good. The whole island generally makes a neglected impression. They do take 20 baht on arrival, supposedly to keep the environment clean. But you see nothing of it. Everywhere lies garbage around, everything is very unkempt. It is obviously only about earning as much as possible.

Hearing aids went missing on my last morning. No idea how. Staff at breakfast really nice and helpful. But loss of a very expensive item and no explanation ruined my memory of the hotel.

The hotel is situated at Long beach area which is not directly connected to the main phi phi through normal walking. You've to hike some part to go to the main area. So you need to take taxi boat each time which will cost you 100 baht day time 150 baht after 6 PM one way. Also while coming back it takes time to get boat. These boats will drop you on the long beach and you have to walk the rest part (200 meters). Also the hotel is placed so high you have to take stairs to climb which is not very pleasant. Behavior and service of the stuff can be better. I'll suggest to stay any place near the main area from where you can walk to your hotel. If you want a very calm and quiet place it can be a good option also the view from the top is good.

Do not stay here, Location far away from dock, and difficult to get tail boat taxi to long beach (specific to long beach). Difficult to walk and impossible with bags, not possible to land taxi either. Service only been here for 3hours and it is very bad. No one arrived to pick us up at dock, no communication. When we told them the difficult we had to arrive there was no concern as they then go on to say they sent someone over but did not communicate this to use except for a automated message when we book the place over 3 months ago. No try to reimburse the cost of getting to the hotel either. Chef not available so difficult to even find food as it hard to get back to the menu centre. No concern from staff. Accommodation very average for what you pay.

Loved this place. Staff were great and the location is perfect for a great part of the beach and snorkeling. There are a lot of steps up to the hotel from the beach so be aware of that's a problem. Great views from the restaurant! They don't have any sunbeds on the beach for guests so you'll have to either sit on the sand or buy some drinks and use the neighbour hotels loungers. This is a real shame as at the very least they could offer deckchairs to use and return back to them. My only negative was that we ordered two meals and it came with bugs (like little grey ants) all over the chopped peanuts on our plates. I'm used to travelling around so just scooped them off the plate but it does make us wonder about their kitchen area. We opted to eat at the restaurant next door which was a bit more expensive but no bugs this time.

This is an excellent hotel, in a great location, quiet from the mess of the mainland. People complain about the stairways, but we found it super great for our exercise, given how we can't do much while traveling. Each day, we would run up and down the stairs five times for cardio. The staff is efficient and very matter of fact. There is no lunch and laundry service, so keep that in mind. The boat taxis are easy, but we also very much enjoyed taking the 30 minute walk into town daily. In the evenings, we took the boat taxi back after dinner. We never ate at the hotel, but opted for food along the beach and in town. Overall, this is an excellent deal but you have to really know what you are getting yourself into: no laundry, no lunch service, lots and lots of stairways.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Always had a long-tail boat into town available for 100 baht each. Free shuttle to and from check in / check out back to the pier. Comfiest bed we’ve stayed in so far, A/C worked great. Nice calm area, quiet bungalow, and nice beach. Lots of stairs but we didn’t mind (burned off some of the extra calories from food and drinks!) Also, they will carry your luggage up and down the stairs in an elevator.

Got charged 400 baht for getting a drop of period blood on the bed sheets, found this really degrading as a woman. The location is horrible, you have to hike loads of stairs to get to the hotel. No nice restaurants around. Food in hotel is expensive and average. No bar in hotel, no pool. Poor expierence and won’t be recommending to others

I didnt stay there. However on a walk along the beach we came across an abandoned stairway. When we climbed it we were standing in what looked like an almost completely abandoned resort (garden was still maintained, bungalows run down though), the vending machine was almost completely rusted, but running, restaurant abandoned, nobody there except one guy who disappeared as soon as we got up the stairs.

The hotel is not taken care of. The rooms are falling apart and the bathroom has no door (just a curtain) which made it very awkward. The rooms are built on poles which make them feel very unstable and wobbly. We had a couple of bad experience with the personal at the reception. They are not helpful or flexible and sometimes even rude. The only thing we appreciated from this hotel is the view, the peace and the cats that hang around the property. Not recommended.

The staff were simply AMAZING!! I just wanna go back and visit again, we got our room upgraded to super lovely view one, service was very considerate even though covid situation, longtailboat staff were friendly and we just liked our whole stay there! Plus the stairs aren't even long, good little warmup for activities of the day. I recommend taking a snorkling trip from the reception! Thank you for the whole staff!

So we did have a good stay (the view overlooking the ocean was beautiful) but the room maintenance was disappointing. Cracked floorboards, very basic amenities, shower handle was loose and OMG THE flight of stairs was a killer everytime you go up and mind you we are people who workout most days (maybe it was extra strenuous due to the buzz we were feeling). Location wise, i would have preferred staying at the pier, it was happening and loads of things to see. Wished the venue provided free tailboats at certain hours to get to the pier because 150-200bht per person is steep when you're frequently going over there. But if you like a laidback setting where you can build your calf muscles, this is the place. Service was good except the part where they returned our unwashed clothes after keeping it for 2days :-(

Worst staff Tough to reach, you won’t tend to go out though you wish to due to the strenuous steps approach they have. Bath Rooms don’t have doors Suffocating rooms We cancelled the reservation, they charged us the free pickup they provided Very unfair to penalize the sufferers. AGODA also very bad in this. They don’t understand anything

Phi Phi is a remote island with all the actions happening in the middle. This resort is the end of the island and top of the mountain. For people looking for calmness and majestic views then this is the place for them. Its almost 30-40 min walk from center and since Phi Phi dont have any cars, only way to commute is to use water taxis. The villas are bit old and had to take some stairs to reach out to the resort. People who have problem walking stairs, this place is not recommended.

Great place with the most beautiful views of the sea and the mountains. Shoutout to the hotel staff for their extra special customer care. Give this place a try if you are in Phi Phi.

It was a home that we absolutely loved. We had a bungalow with a view of the whole bay. It is definitely worth taking one of these bungalows. The view of the bay of phi phi don and phi phi leh is unique as well as the sunsets that you can watch directly from the bungalow. The staff is extremely friendly, they were the nicest people we have met at a resort and we felt at home mainly because of them. the most beautiful snorkeling sites are right on the doorstep, at one you can see sharks and at the other the variety of fish is beautiful to watch. We hope we can visit the place and the people one day again.

A good and peaceful resort with beautiful beach view, away from the hustle and bustle of phi phi. If you are in Thailand for partying, this isn't the place for you. It gets really quiet during the night. Have to take a long tail boat to reach the main Tonsai area. Could walk to the main area as well, but the roads are deserted.

Thank you Hip Seaview Resort for such a lovely stay ❤️❤️❤️ This is an amazing place… The views from our bungalow were STUNNING. There is plenty of space in the bungalow, the AC is fully working, the bed is comfortable and has mosquito net. We did not have any issues with bugs. The staff is super friendly and smiling 😉 There are lovely cats hanging around - for a cat lover it will be a paradise 🤓 The breakfasts are just enough - just a hint from my side to the staff: think more about vegetarians, a person should be able to select veggies or cheese instead of meat. There is a complimentary taxi to the center when coming and leaving the resort. Otherwise, 100 or 150 THB per person. We went there once and it was enough for us 😅 Too crowdy and polluted. To sum up, I recommend it to people who want to isolate and enjoy beautiful views. There isn’t much happening on the beach, and most places close at 9pm.

Located at the corner of beautiful and quiet long beach, on the hill side which need to climb 2-3min but in return you have a great view. Its low season so only see 3-4 groups of guest, staffs are very friendly despite not many businesses. Taxi boat at Tong Sai pier wants to charge me 300B for 2 person to the long beach at around 4pm, one of the resort staff was waiting for guest there and he helped me arrange a taxi boat with usual price 200B. One less star becaue of low season they have to close restaurant temporarily, no lunch and dinner but you can find other restaurant along the beach. Do not go to the nearest restaurant inside The Beach Resort as its more pricy.

Perfect place to stay in Phi Phi. It's very close to the Shark Point where you can (if you're lucky) see the black tip sharks in shallow waters..amazing experience. The accomodation is so-so, but totally worth it.. 👍

Best view you can get of the island. Clean room and good service. Only issue is you need to climb a lot of stairs to reach the resort so be prepared for that. And I wish they would put a door to the bathroom..

Even this hotel is the end of a long beach but it is natural, good view and peaceful. Happy breakfast and a lot of options to choose. clean and delicious. Friendly staff. I like this place so much, I ll come back again. I saw a negative comments and complains but i ll recomment them to better stay in the city like Bangkok or other city not a natural and easy going place like this hotel. Study a hotel information before make a reservation.

We've read other reviews about the stairs so we're slightly worried about them but they are completely fine. It isn't a long journey at all and you don't have to take your luggages up and down as the staff takes care of it using a special lift for that. The staff are extremely kind, nice, helpful and hard working! We lost our headphones around the stairs and two of them (Mew - the main manager - and Fat) spent probably a good hour ripping out plans just to help us find them. They managed to find the headphones after we had already given up! Regarding the location, the resort isn't in the Tonsai area so the only way to getting in and out is by taking the local boat. But there's always one around for you to take (100 baht during the day and 150 baht after the sunset), plus the resort organises a free check-in and a check out boat from/to Tonsai. (Ps: there is a path that you can take to get to Tonsai and back to the resort, but we wouldn't recommend it as it isn't made for tourists to be taking it, specially after if it rains) Overall, this is an excellent resort. Very clean, amazing staff and beautiful location! We'll recommend it to our friends and family, and will definitely come back again in the future.

Lovely place. Helpful friendly staff who could not do too much for us. Clean rooms with great sea views. Breakfast and dinner were good, but the views were amazing..see sunset photo. Lots of off road running on the island.

Amazing resort to enjoy both mountain sea view from the top as well as enjoy the sandy beach with crystal clear water. Specifically, I loved the view from its dining area. It's just incredible.

This hotel has a charming view of the sea due to its height above sea level. The staff are helpful, but there is your problem. Getting to the hotel is somewhat difficult. You need to go up and down more than 130 degrees permanently.
