Rocky Balboa steps and the view from the top of the stairs is wonderful. The run to the top of the stairs is not too difficult and it's fun considering most of the tourists doing the same there. Walk around the museum is must to get the wonderful views of the city.

The Rocky Steps in Philadelphia deserve nothing less than a resounding 5-star review! These iconic steps, immortalized by the "Rocky" film series, hold a special place in the hearts of visitors and locals alike. Climbing the steps, just as Rocky Balboa did, is an exhilarating experience that's both physically rewarding and emotionally inspiring. The view from the top, overlooking the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the city skyline, is nothing short of breathtaking. Whether you're a film buff paying homage to a cinematic legend or someone seeking a unique workout with a view, the Rocky Steps offer an unmatched combination of pop culture, fitness, and awe-inspiring sights. Beyond the steps themselves, the surrounding area is vibrant and full of life, making it a perfect spot for photos and soaking in the atmosphere. The Rocky Steps are more than just a tourist attraction – they're a symbol of determination, aspiration, and the enduring spirit of Philadelphia. A definite must-visit, earning every one of those 5 stars!

Very nice area and very interesting statues. It's a must see for the rocky movie lovers. Down side of it is the peddling beggers needs to be clean up. City officials need to clean the trash including those people hustling tourists for money. Philadelphia is not a safe city after dark. Everything closes before or after dark.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art Steps, better known as the Rocky Steps, are the same ones that Sylvester Stallone ran up in the Rocky movies. Visitors can reenact the scenes, experience for themselves what it's like to run or walk up the steps. When you get to the top of the steps, like Rocky did, you can take a view of the city. I have a new appreciation for the Rocky movies. Watching the movies is one thing, but to be at these steps is incredible. Definitely a must-do on the bucket list.

Epic stop on your Philly vacation. Of course the steps, grounds and views are beautiful, but these steps of probably most know for the famous Rocky movie training montage scenes. We all had a blast taking turns running up the stairs, filming and singing the Rocky theme song. There is also a plaque in the ground of Rocky’s footprints, and a statue nearby. Great memories made here.

I was at the Philadelphia Art Museum to see the historic Rocky Statue and to walk on the Ricky steps. My first time in Philly and this was undoubtedly the best highlight from my trip. I highly recommend a visit to this famous tourists attraction to all tourists and locals!!!

What an amazing place with lot people enjoying the day especially on evenings or weekends. The energy at his place is very positive and kids can enjoy the vast wider area. Paid Parking is available. If you are lucky you may get the street parking across the road opposite to the steps but that is very hard to get. Near by always there will be some refreshments carts or vans will be there depending upon hour . When we visited couple of different times we saw ice cream vans were there and there were a small queue always . But that is not a show stopper for your enjoyment isn’t 😃.

Not impressive as expected. Some of the art is just few years old. What's the point to see those modern art. You can see many places those art gallery free. Can say second floor was wasting a time. $25 is not worth for this museum. However plenty of employees are working (most of them are one race), doing nothing. Even one of sleeping on the duty. Many idols from different countries are satanic. People worshipping fallen angles since centuries, which doesn't need to display and encouraging people to follow it. Those all should be destroyed. Especially the entire section of Indian idols.

This was amazing to see! Nice to see it has security to keep it safe. Lots of artifacts and history to read. Really nice environment. Indoors. No restrooms. The gift shop is across the street and it has restrooms.

A part of movie history! These Steps might be the most famous steps in the world. Get here early if you wanna get your picture taken running up the steps and leaping up in the air like Rocky. It gets busy as heck here. And while you are here go inside the museum and enjoy the great art that they have. I love this part of philly, it is pretty safe and there is a lot to see and do in the area.

Fun place to visit for historical reasons. There will be homeless people offering to take your photos and asking for tips in return. They won’t steal your phone. Nice view of the city from the top as well.

Large museum, well-organized into logical groupings/rooms by artist, period of type of art. We went to see the Jasper Johns exhibit. (you'll need a ticket for a specified time). Wonderful, friendly staff. Jeremiah in modern art and how we liked a Cy Twombly exhibit (Achilles, Trojan horse...) and we said that we didn't like it that much. He enthusiastically invited us to learn about it from him. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. A shout out too, to the cafe staff who were friendly and professional. The pastries were delicious. Great experience! Highly recommend.

Iconic steps. Iconic museum. Do more then 10 and you did more then Silvester Stallone did (double did the remaining). Everytime I am in Philly, I go there and enjoy the view. It's so awesome and it never fails to impress. Enjoy the view, enjoy the history and be happy!

A week ago, I was about as big a fan of the Rocky Franchise as most of you reading this are. I had seen some of the movies 10+ years ago and knew the theme music, "Eye of the Tiger," and a few quotes like "Yo, Adrian!" and "He's not gettin beat, he's gettin mad!" Essentially, I knew just enough to get by in a conversation involving pop culture without looking like a fool. I came to the Rocky Steps honestly just to check off a box and say that I did it. It's a 2.5 mile walk from my girlfriend's place, and as we were approaching the steps I pulled up the famous scene of Rocky running to them for a quick refresher, as I should probably know at least a little bit about what I am about to see ahahaha. Inspiration hit me like a piano falling on Wile E Coyote's head. Straight to the DOME. It was a mix of so many things in the clip: the music slowly building, Rocky running in the Chuck Taylors, the dead sprint along the Schuylkill River, the grey sweatsuit, running with frickin BRICKS in his hands all just perfectly combined to have me more inspired than I've been in a long time. I think it really was the bricks in his hands that got me, that's just such a savage move. I've been fiending to get my hands on some bricks for my runs now...if you have any loose bricks laying around bang my line!! I went from thinking there is no way I'm going to take a video of me running the steps because I'm Mr. Cool Guy to taking 4 videos because the first 3 didn't look good enough ahahahaha. The view is so vast and stunning that there was a freshly married couple taking their wedding pictures here fresh out the chapel ahaha. It put me in a purely reflective and contemplative state. I can see why Rock ran here, it had to have helped him visualize ripping Apollo Creed's head off. When I get passionate about something like this, I can't help but swan dive down the rabbit hole. We obviously went straight home and watched Rocky. Before Rocky, Stallone only had 1 major role in a small film, Lords of Flatbush, that had a budget of $380,000. He wrote the Rocky script in 3 days after watching Muhammad Ali fight Chuck Wepner, where Wepner was TKOd in the 15th round in a fight where nobody gave him a chance to make it that far. Sound familiar? Wepner later sued him ahahaha man that's savage. Stallone shopped the script around to multiple studios, being offered up to $350,000 for the rights. He turned them down because the studios wanted an A-lister, including Burt Reynolds, to play Rocky. Stallone refused, as he wanted to play the lead ahahah what a BEAST. In today's money, $350k is worth over $2m dollars. He turned down a BAG because he believed in himself so much, talk about an all time double down lol…. and it's not like he was swimming in it back then. Rocky ended up having a budget of under $1m and earning $225m at the box office. This ended up being a worldwide percentage return of over 11,000%. Talk about a double down paying off lmaaaoooo. My poor girlfriend has had to deal with me, every few minutes, saying "Ayyoo Adrian!!" in the thick Italian accent of someone who has last a lot of brain cells due to getting punched in the head repeatedly. This trip went from me going to just check a box off to me taking a kickboxing class this morning because I am so flooded with inspiration. THANK YOU ROCK! IF I'M BETTING ON MYSELF I COMPLETELY DOUBLE DOWN! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__reviews

Although I didn’t have the opportunity to explore the Philadelphia Museum of Art from within, I had an incredibly memorable experience visiting its famous landmark—the Rocky Steps. Having watched the movie countless times, I felt a deep connection to this iconic location and was eager to see it in person. I must say, it did not disappoint! Climbing the steps leading up to the museum was an exhilarating and rewarding experience. It’s hard not to feel a surge of inspiration and motivation as you follow in the footsteps of Rocky Balboa. The feeling of accomplishment upon reaching the top is truly fulfilling. I’m glad I had the chance to partake in this cultural and cinematic pilgrimage. What awaited me at the summit was a breathtaking view of the city. The panoramic vista from above offered a fantastic perspective of Philadelphia’s skyline, giving me a sense of the city’s grandeur. It was an awe-inspiring sight that I will cherish in my memory. While my visit was focused on the Rocky Steps, it’s important to mention that the Philadelphia Museum of Art is renowned for its extensive collection of art and cultural treasures. I regret not having the chance to explore the exhibits, but I can imagine it would be a delightful experience for art enthusiasts. If you’re a fan of the Rocky movies or simply wish to soak in the stunning views of Philadelphia, a visit to the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art is highly recommended. It’s an iconic symbol of the city and offers a unique blend of cinematic nostalgia, physical activity, and a stunning vantage point to appreciate the beauty of Philadelphia.

This museum requires time... and multiple visits to benefit from its collection. I'm so impressed with its collection. Lots of stairs in and out, 2 indoor elevators, and Rocky statue outside. ❤️😍

Great Statue and open 24/7, sometimes you have to make a line to take a picture but it's quick. Just be careful with 2 guys that are recently there that offer to take you pictures, they look kinda shady and probably are going to ask for a tip. I saw one today that was saying a lot of bad words to a lady that didn't want a picture of him. Everything else is good, so after the statue go to the stairs of the front museum to make the Rocky running up!

An iconic part of Philadelphia! We had to visit and run up the stairs. It was a busy day, but not too crowded. We even stumbled upon a wedding party taking their photos. Parking was not too bad. We found metered street parking that was only about a 7-minute walk from the steps.

While we did not run up the steps (we walked), we enjoyed the views looking out to Philadelphia and taking a closer look at the grand architecture of the museum. It is also a great people-watching place, a young girl celebrating her quinceañera, families out for an afternoon, and happy tourists feeling the victory of the task.

As a Rocky fan and being a runner, I highly enjoyed visiting the steps for the first time! You are warned about the people selling merch/asking to take ur pic. I ran up and down 4 times, not a problem! Love the view! So recommend running up those steps! They had a food truck out by the steps. Amazed by the wonderful view at the top! Loved seeing the statue, went at perfect time because the line to get a photo wasn’t bad when I got there but when I was done it got long. I like how it’s organized with a line makes it easy to take a photo!

The Rocky Steps, leading up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, are a classic and well-known landmark, famous for their appearance in the 'Rocky' film series. Even without having seen the films, the significance of these steps is evident in the steady stream of visitors who come to reenact the iconic scene. Climbing the steps offers a sense of accomplishment, and the view from the top provides a nice panorama of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. On a quick layover in Philly, we went to check out the famous Rocky steps. It was a really cool experience despite all the heavy rain it was still an awesome experience. If you grew up like me watching the Rocky marathons every Fourth of July then take a few minutes to check out this location. There’s a beautiful view from the top of the steps, even with all the rain and clouds.

Great view of Philly. Famous “Rocky” steps. Very picturesque spot. Close to the riverwalk trail, close to city hall and close to the Eastern State Penitentiary. All within walking distance. City center is an easy 40 minute minute walk or less

Surprisingly easy to run up on. The view of the city is amazing from top of the steps. We were there late in the day, but there were plenty of people still running up and down those steps. It was a bit windy, so dress warm if visiting in colder months.

Cool little area. Right above the rocky statue. There is also a cool wall to stand in front of for pictures. Gives you a great view of Philadelphia when you’re on them.

I actually have not watched the movie “Rocky” (I can only hope I am not the only one), but I do enjoy those steps, giving me a sense of formality—you need to walk an extra mile to get where you are up to, the museum. Plus, at the top of those steps, there is a quite decent view of Philadelphia’s skyline. There is also a footstep of Rocky.

I enjoyed taking my kids to see the Rocky Steps and the Rocky Statue. Thanks Sylvester Stallone for creating such an iconic character that we all can rally behind. The outside of the museum is beautiful. We didn’t set the inside though.

Amazing collection and very well arranged. The period rooms were an unexpected pleasure, not something I have seen in most other museums I've visited. Tried to see much as I could in one morning (10-1:30) but only managed 2 wings. I hope to go back to see the rest at some point! Plan at least a full day if you wish to see it all.

This was about the moment, ROCKY a movie character has made such a huge difference for so many people over the years! The character may be fictional, but the stories of success because of that character are not. These stories bring that character to life. What an amazing experience! Thank you, LEAGUEOFRIDERSMC.COM

One of the most beautiful museums I’ve been to. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not crowded. Spent ~3-4 hours here and had a little coffee break in the lower level. Literally breath taking, have never enjoyed something like this before. I was walking through history in every way possible 😯
