My partner and I moved into the McKinley early September because we felt it was the prefect place downtown that fit our needs. After the negative experience we had with our previous place of living we felt refreshed when given the tour. Unfortunately when we moved in we realized the floors are very thin and could hear our upstairs neighbor every time they walked around their Apartment. So much so that every morning at about 5:30-6am they are up, and we are up with them, Startled by heavy footsteps every morning (including weekends). I did bring it to the offices attention that it was a concern and they said there wasn’t much they could do if it was just everyday living. I wrote a very kind and respectful note my neighbor asking if they could keep us in mind when going about their everyday living and they were very sweet about it but it still continues. Hopefully it gets better. But I wouldn’t recommend moving here unless you’re moving to the top floor or even the first because there’s concrete between the first and second floor. Noise pollution is construction from out side, which isn’t as bad and is very tolerable. This is just a result of the build of the apartment if they had used concrete between the floors it wouldn’t be an issue. Just to give an update the noise from upstairs has gotten sooo much better, we are finally able to relax in our apartment! Adding a few stars because we’ve enjoyed living here since it’s stopped. The location is Supper convenient and we love walking around downtown.

Gorgeous complex and peaceful neighborhood! The community is very close and friendly, and Roosevelt Row is right around the corner. Truly having your cake and eating it too! Great place to live!

I lived at The McKinley for a year. We loved the location of this apartment; it's within walking distance of ASU, Roosevelt Row, Pemberton, Lola, etc. There is a small, quiet park right next to it as well. Parking can be challenging at night, but I usually have no issues if I return before 10 PM during the weekdays. My unit was quiet & comfy (loved my gas stove); my neighbors were friendly. The hallways and amenities are clean and well-maintained; I enjoyed the outdoor patio and rooftop area. Although the gym is small, it has the most equipment for an express workout. The only downside is no studying/ working area. Residents can rent office rooms next to the leasing office; it is only accessible when the leasing office is open, which I seriously consider a few months before moving out. Additionally, Staci and the maintenance personnel have always been friendly and helpful. When my patio window was broken, the maintenance personnel was working by the pool; he immediately went to my unit to assist me. Staci was transparent about the charges; went above and beyond to help my partner & me during the move-out process. It is a small and cozy apartment. If you don't care about having a variety of amenities, it's a charming apartment near restaurants and nightlife.

Great location and very friendly leasing and maintenance staff. Energy efficient appliances and windows which provide savings on your APS bill. What you should know that I didn't when I first moved in. Along with your rent you will pay a shared trash and electric bill for the interior of the building outside of your apartment. That cost, taxes and misc expenses add $150-200 to your rent bill. Limited garage parking so a space isn't guaranteed unless you pay for it. The pool is very basic and only 3ft deep. That said, the building is beautiful inside, friendly neighbors and only 5 floors. I've just signed my 3rd lease renewal so I like living here.

STAY AWAY!! Firstly, the downside of living in this place is downtown period. You will experience addicts sleeping out the building, yelling all times of night, getting into the building breaking into cars etc. The parking is horrendous street and paid into the building unless you have a reserved parking space. Lacking security like other “luxury” buildings. The maintenance is one solo man that only works during the week. He is a professional and very pleasant BUT If there’s an emergency you have to call and wait. Consistently noisy from other neighbors as the walls and floors are thin. It’s like living in a frat house or dorm. Front Office has High turnover like a revolving door; When you complain they do NOTHING to handle the situation. No incentives to living at The McKinley like other buildings that have community events the Ave Apartments is so much better. Glad I moved outta that hell.

to me it was worth paying the premium in rent to live in a building where the (few) problems I had in my apartment were addressed promptly and I was otherwise left alone (in a good way). Moveout process was reasonable and fair. Floor plans and interiors were great, only really moved out because I needed more space than was available here

My family lived here for two years and we had the best experience. The staff was AMAZING. We loved getting to know the neighbors. The amenities were great. We walked to downtown events, restaurants, and parks so it was located in a great spot too.

😠 The maintenance staff of this complex are a 5 star crew. Everything else about the management team fails to hold the same standard. To this day, and for months before this post, issues caused from water damage are left untreated. I reached out to management numerous times and they did not follow thr...

👍👍 As an avid reviewer, I’d like to say I’ve not had a better apartment. The staff has always been supportive and caring. I hate bugs and the moment I saw a bug in my apartment (water beetle) I called the office right away and they came and sprayed my house. They’ve been very attentive about my needs....

😠 If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. My husband, his friend, and myself moved in last July. The tour made it seem like there were no problems and we would be getting a perfect place to live. We were so excited to move in but the chaos started on move in day. First, we did not receive our...
