Just a few steps from the parking area and you can't see a single sign of civilization. Great place for hikers of all skill levels.

This location is ran completely by volunteers. Finally made it in after wanting to for so long. There’s a little library, a hallway photo gallery of animals in the park, and lots of other things to see and do. There’s a short little path out the back door to a little birdwatching area too.

Love these trails. There are so many to explore and each one shows you its hidden beauty and each is unique per the ti.e of day. I have spent 2 years hiking these trails and I'm still finding new connecting trails with hidden beauties.

Great place with helpful and kind staff. There are plenty of things to look at inside and items to buy such as: books, paintings, crystals, rocks, drinks, and snacks. Restrooms are also available inside as well as outside.

The trails are manicured. The restrooms are clean (however there are no doors on the stalls). The trails vary from easy to challenging. Just know that the palo verde trees and bushes are buzzing full of bees, and whatever else is occupying the bushes. I didn't get stung, and didn't see anyone else get stung, but the trails were not peacefully quiet, they were buzzing. The trees were also full of hummingbirds, so it balanced out the experience.

This is a great place for my kids to learn about the Arizona desert. You could spend all day exploring the trails if you wanted to, but we usually explore for less than an hour in the morning to get my kids used to hiking. The beginning of the trail is perfect for my young ones to experience hiking on flat, easy terrain. Then after we finish our hike, we head over to the visitor center to cool off. It is a beautiful space with a lot of interesting things to look at. We enjoy the children's room where they have lots of books, and educational toys, although they are outdated. The staff is very friendly as well, and they offer a reading program where kids can earn prizes for books they read.

Multiple different trails can be reached here to go to the radio towers north mountain, or the backside of similar hills in the area. The hikes here are nothing to rant or rave about I would say. They are flat concrete most of the way by the highway . It's a pretty boring type of hike in opinion compared to others in the valley. Its heavily trafficked in parts with mountain bikers. Sometimes it gets dangerous as they go too fast . The best thing is the facilities here are well maintained and well kept . Were talking immaculate . Which is actually kind of bizarre 🤣😂🤣. It is nice though👌. I like the fact you can get cool water before or after the hike. Even in 119degree heat. It's still super cold 🤘👌🌵🌴🌵I've never been in the visitor's center . They have music there on Tuesday I read on the flyer . It's a cool place for short hike

I love it. The volunteer was very helpful and informative. Incredible photography of local wildlife and very clean. What a wonderful gift to the Southwest to have such a nature-conscientious organization volunteer-run and supported.

There's some really need activities in the visitor center, like they do jewelry making in one of the back rooms. I was there for a drum circle facilitation training. I think they even have a church in there on Sundays.

It was my first time hiking here. It was great! For a beginner hiker it was very nice to have different levels of difficulty. I also enjoyed taking pictures and seeing the other people out there with their dogs.

Hidden gem of a park and trail. Great parking well maintained park with a visitor center. The trail is easy, dogs and older nature lovers enjoy this one but no shade so go early to avoid the heat.

The North Mountains are beautiful!! Hiking early in the morning is so peaceful. The trails are rather easy to follow. Lots of signs. I decided to follow Trail 100 and started by the Welcome Center. Lots of parking. Visited the Welcome Center after my hike. Loads of beautiful Native American Art, Jewelry, Artifacts, and Literature. Loved it!!❤

Definitely a nice place to take a walk WITH A COMPANION. Unfortunately there are too many homeless men in the benches sleeping and doing their thing. Do not go there alone. Other than that it is an enjoyable easy flat trail to walk. I did use a natural mosquito repellent so no mosquito bites, loved. Something I liked too was the messages about 988 and incurring positivity that it is ok to ask for help. Bring your water bottle. Also there is the library, you can got there to cool down and use the restrooms. It was awesome to see kids and books and a librarian person. If you want to get a library card bring a picture ID and a document with your current address and name.

One of the best public amenities in the area. Whether you hike, mountain bike, jog or just stroll -- North Mountain has miles and miles of trails to suit everyone. I particularly love full moon hikes and early morning hikes in the summer. Don't skimp on water as the sun can heat things up really quickly. And, in the hot moths plan to be off the mountain before 7 a.m. to avoid the brutal heat.

Great place to learn everything you want to know about the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Trail maps, hats, tee shirts, hiking staffs, books and rocks for sale in the gift shop. An all Volunteer staff is very helpful with all questions. There is a sign up sheet for email newsletter and flyers about all the events at the Center from a Desert Guppy Reading program to Brown Bag Workshops where you eat your lunch as you learn fascinating information. On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday of the month the Center has a free coffee house with some breakfast snacks for a small donation. Listen to music from volunteer musicians while you sip your coffee. A very happening place!

The Coffee House at the North Mountain Visitors Center is a hidden gem in north Phoenix. A delightful mix of sweet rolls, fruit, coffee, tea and MUSIC in a beautiful setting. The first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month. Cost is free, but donations are appreciated.

PLEASE READ WHOLE THING! North Mountain Visitor Center is a beautiful place to go hiking and explore. The reason it is kept so clean and trash free is because of the dedicated girl scouts who pickup trash around the grounds. So please everyone, do not litter. Thank you for reading this review and please like it! Stay safe! ;) Also, that pretty globe like yellow flower that's all around in the spring here, it's called globe chamomile. IT IS A DANGEROUS WEED that must be removed. It is highly flammable and causes severe allergies in people. Don't believe me... See for yourself online. We need your help to remove this. Please take it out from the roots and dispose in a trash can. Overall the north mountain visitor center is a wonderful place worth a trip. The staff are so friendly and helpful! Considerate and caring! It is immaculate inside!
