👍👍 My first time to this trial head, I would call it backyard trial head, have been around this area never attempted, after running there is no regrets, wonderful terrain and challenging for trail running, very clean, limited crowd, good for moderate levels and beginers. I will come back again somet... People often mention trail, views, hike, easy,

Excellent location for hiding from the local extra terrestrial life. I lost a group of enraged Adam Sandler worshippers by hiding in the "bee zone", although the bees did take a few limbs as payment for their divine sanctuary. A price I am willing to pay.

Dixie Mountain Loop is a fantastic hike through and through. Several connecting trailheads in each cardinal direction makes access to the trail very easy. If you’re looking for more of a challenge while on the loop, there’s a couple out-and-back summit trails, including Dixie Mountain, with decently steep elevation changes and rewarding views on top. As this is a large nature preserve, you will be treated to the Sonoran Desert’s beautiful and diverse flora and fauna. Watch your step through several sections, as hundreds of “Teddy Bear” cholla dot the trail, and small bits will break off and end up in the middle of the path. You will also need to watch for snakes if you’re hiking in the early morning or evening, as they don’t care that you need to get by, they’re just gonna lay there anyways. And if you’re as lucky as me, you might even get to meet one of our local desert tortoises. Treat yourself to this fun hike, enjoy the views, and maybe you’ll even find the Jeep wreck 🤔.

Perfect loop trail, with TWO different summit side trails, one being Dixie Mtn. Not too difficult but could make it as challenging as you want! Beautiful views, NO shade so be careful, but it's great!

Easy parking at the trailhead. The whole path is full of beautiful scenery and breeze, which is refreshing. Eagles soar in the sky. Like the people on this trail, free and easy.

I lived right at the base of this in Norterra and hiked/ran this trail 5 days a week for a year. Great workout, amazing views, not too rough of terrain; an all around 10/10.

We had never been here before but since it was close to our Happy Valley area Hotel, we decided to give it a try. Not too difficult and probably just about the right length(well too long for my wife!)for our 60+ year old legs. We did a combination of two trails, the Hawk and Desert trails. Nice scenery and pretty well maintained. Nice trail head rest area as well.

One of the best views you can have of the north Valley. Just the right amount elevation and distance for an evening or morning hike.

An amazing mountain to watch the sun set over Phoenix. Nice views even without the sunset

Fun hikes around here. Most of the trails are fairly easy but can be made a bit harder by hiking up to the peaks. I went up both peaks on a hike that was almost 6 miles that was quite fun. Beautiful views of the valley. Restrooms are nice and the parking lot is easy access.

This is definitely one of my favorite, “quick” hikes. It offers a good mix of some easy, moderate & a little challenging elevation to get your heart pumpin’, and legs working.

The first 3/4mile from the parking lot is fairly steep but after that it levels some and you can choose to summit or go down into the valley.

Nice easy to medium level difficulty trail. You can finish it quickly and get a good workout for the day. Mountain top has great views. Be careful of the cactuses on the side of the trail.
