Super nice and quiet trail in the middle of town. Very close to freeways and Desert Ridge which is perfect for plans to eat after a beautiful long easy going walk. Came here on a whim and it was a great spot to have a leisurely stroll out in nature. We enjoyed the clear skies and warm sunshine on our skin. It was a wonderful experience!

Less people when I went at 2pm which was nice. Trails were flat so I was able to read a book while I walked the entire trail. Only dislike is the horse and dog poop frequent on the trail.

There's a good mix of paved and unpaved trails with varying lengths so you can easily adjust for how much time or distance you want to do. They seem popular - we regularly see walkers, joggers, bikers of all ages and on a few trails evidence of horses. Also depending on the season & time of day we see wildlife, especially quail and ground squirrels.

I hesitate to share this review since what we like most about it is how uncrowded it is. Attractive and peaceful. Single negative is there's lots of dog poop left on the side of parts of the trail by less considerate dog owners, which our own dog is unfortunately prone to sample. The dog loves romping around the place though.

I am six months into being an above the knee amputee. The trails are everything! I am still on crutches so trails with elevation are a no go. This trail made it easy for me to walk with my Beastly (microprocessor leg)and learn to use it. I went with a friend and really enjoyed it. If you are injured, simply learning to hike, have kids you want to take somewhere for a stroll, or simply an easy trail to take a break from the rocks, roots and elevation. Highly recommend this place!

Reach 11 is a Barrier Free area set aside for hiking, camping, spending the day together. The trail begins on the n/e side of Union Hills & Tatum and ends close to Mayo & Scottsdale Rd, the cities has put down a concrete trails that turns to a dirt path. Please remember to dress appropriately in jeans & hiking shoes, carry a first aid kit and water. Also be aware of all animal's, four legged & ones that slither, carry a kit for snakes. Respect the area and carry out the trash you make while in the area, and remember to bring enough water if you decide to walk the trail from water troth to Scottsdale Rd. Stay hydrated, stay well.

Flowing trails.. had a blast on 26" bmx single speed with dth Maxxis tires. Some deep sand spots on the inner trails... outer more used trails are hard packed due to heavier traffic. Really enjoyed this for layed back day.

If you like gravel but don't like Cactus this is the place for you. Not much here even for scrubland but it's flat and if you just want to walk it's okay. If you're from out of town and looking for Flora and Fauna you'd be better off at a different recreational area.

Good flat hike. Seems industrial at first but turns into a nice 2-3 mile walk.

This is a nice open space for a walk that make it feel like you are a little out of the city

Close recreation area to escape the city and walk, hike, bike, and run. Tons of trail distances, and fun little trails in between. It would be nice to have some more vegetation and better trail accessibility to nearby roads, along with markers stating mileage distance. Lots of bunnies.

Wonderful place to ride your mountain bike or run/walk. You forget you're a stones throw from the freeway or even in the middle of North Phoenix with all the trees and wildlife.

  • 5/5 Vanessa G. 6 years ago on Google
This is a wonderful park to walk in. Follow the path and you end up at a small lake. Take time to sit and be quiet to listen for and watch the birds. We saw many hummingbirds, one cardinal and other assorted birds. You will be sharing the park with people with dogs, on bikes and horses. We always have a wonderful time here just make sure you bring water, suntan lotion and a hat.

I really enjoy the Reach 11 Recreational Park!! It is located south of the 101 on Tatum, right on the other side of Horse Lover's Park, so you can do both! It is great for anyone who is wanting to take an easy stroll on the one of the many dirt/sandy paths and they also have paved paths that lead to a cute pond covered with trees! I am an avid runner and enjoy the easy, flat paths that can easily turn into a long run if planned! I see people on bikes, others riding their horses, walking their dogs, and other crazy runners like me😉. If you go in the summer, go early and bring lots of H2O! There is very little shade, so plan accordingly! And be safe! Marie

    Nice hike.

Absolutely beautiful walk. Easy enough hike for those who cannot climb as it is flat and a lot of it is paved. A jewel in the middle of the city.

Nice area with smooth dirt trail for horses and people to enjoy. Weather great in January but will be toasty in summer.

Great place to hike around.. lots of trails and easy to bike also.. I walk my dog here all the time as it is down the street from my house.. occasional snakes in the summer but I've only seen a few.. I've been wandering around this place for about 15 years.. plus they have rodeos when there is no pandemic !

Enjoyable easy walk through desert right in the middle of N. Central Phoenix/Scottsdale. Convenient to everything so easy last minute plans work well. Great place for walking leashed dogs and for young children to experience our beautiful desert without having to take a day trip or much preparation. Worth the stop regardless of fitness level. Just enjoy the desert scenery! 💕

There is a lost key on a boulder just inside the fence on the right side at the trail head

Lots of open area to fide fast. On the graded trail, you will have Almost no thorns to hurt pets feet or flatten a bike tire. Off trail its still desert, so use caution.

Tons of mosquitoes due to the standing water all around the area. Bring plenty of bug spray or you will be eaten alive! Other than the mosquito attack this is a nice flat hike. Very little shade so plan accordingly!

I love this area it is less than a mile from Desert ridge, but a mile walk and you are in a wooded forest with a small urban lake. Frogs ducks and minnows. There is a picnic table, and it is a nice quick getaway.
