We stayed 2 nights. Pros: -It's a beautiful place -It has a swimming pool -Several good sitting places that's perfect for chillin -Big rooms -It's quite cheap Cons: The restaurant is a mess: - I got a different dish than I ordered. It was missing almost all the main ingredients listed in the menu (like chili, lime, basil, onion, leafy greens, etc.) When I asked about it, they took the plate back, added a tiny bit of cooked fresh chili, and just dumped a big pile of chilli powder on the side, which was odd.. I'm not sure if the server understood English or knew what was written on the menu. - The other dish we ordered contained cracked rice, mushrooms, onions, lime, and sticky rice in a bamboo pot. We were then asked to choose a protein for the dish, and answered yes to the waiters recommendation of chicken. We got served a pile of minced chicken, and some cucumber and one leaf of salad on the side - none of the listed ingredients on the menu. It wasn't supposed to have chili, but was somehow more spicy than the other dish with chili listed as a main ingredient. When we asked if it was the wrong dish, the waiter was dismissive and said that's what the dish was supposed to look like because I said yes to chicken. So be aware that you may get a completely different dish that what you ordered, based on what protein you say yes to.. - The table beside it also ordered a dish with chili, but it had none. They also ordere a noodle dish, and got everything but the noodles. The restaurant was out of noodles and decided to just serve the dish without noodles, instead of telling them. -The service fee(tip) gets added to the bill. I usually don't mind, but this is the worst service I think I have ever had at a restaurant. -The lodge charges extra for cleaning the rooms. They offer a laundry service with quite high prices per piece of clothing. The price for getting 2 bed sheets cleaned was disproportionatly high. -The room had no mini fridge and they don't leave water for the guests. -The room had practically no shelves, or places to hang stuff. - One of our beds was missing a duvet or a duvet cover. The second bed had an duvet cover that was quite old and was sown together in several places. - The wall by the bed in the corner of the room smelled musty. -Quite thin walls, you can hear your room neighbors well. -Loud creaking floors in the hall between the rooms. -There was no shelves or knobs to hang your clothes by the shared shower area (there was a dead cockroach tho). This is a problem because you would want to bring clean clothes over to the shower area so you don't have to walk back to your room naked or with only a towel. -There was no soap by the shared sink. -There where roosters outside, close to our room, screaming their hearts out from the early morning. - During check in, the woman at the desk took a phone call to chit chat for 1-2 min in the middle of our check in. We didn't say we had a taxi waiting for us when we came, because we didn't think having short time would be a prerequisite for actually getting checked inn at a normal speed. The lady was friendly, but this was quite odd. -Our Air Conditioner controller went out of power while we was there. I went to the reception to get new batteries. The lady who was there was dismissive and said the batteries weren't out of power. She then walked away and took a phone call. Later she told another employee to show me how the controller works/how to fix it. After she left the reception, he changed the batteries because the controller was in fact out of power. He then proceeded to speed walk/run past me up to our room to check if the controller was working now. He didn't knock on the door when he barged in, even though the other person in the room could have been changing clothes at the time. The whole thing was odd. I would have given this place 2 stars, if not for the cheap price.

The place is just wonderful. I don't mind going back there to stay. The air conditioner could be better.

Shanti Lodge is the best place we have stayed on Phuket Island. Beautifully decorated with a zen like atmosphere, a wonderful pool and an excellent restaurant where we enjoyed several meals. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are very cheap. The location is perfect to access many places by scooter which you can rent at 50 meters from the Lodge.

location is good if you have a car or a bike. Pros: - Really beautiful place and authentic interior - Nice and friendly staff - Cafe is good and have a good variety of food Cons: - A lot of mosquitoes. At the first time I thought it’s normal for Phuket but now I am living here for three month and I haven’t notice so many mosquitoes at any other place. - Too old air conditioner. You can’t sleep with it because it’s too loud. If they hadn’t have this problem, I would rate them for 5 stars, but it’s too uncomfortable. It’s impossible to relax when the air conditioner is working.

Very charming, cosy and convivial place.. with special shout out to the hypernice people & owner, and certainly also the unbelievably delicious food. We never found such lovely crispy granola breakfast, and each choice on the diner menu is a perfect one! We will be back!

Amazing, magical place to spend the night, to feast, to dance and to meet travelers and expats. The owner is a powerhouse of good aesthetics & cuisine. My one suggestion is this — blackout curtains. It's tough to sleep in! That's it... Thanks!

I've been visiting this little oasis since 2009. The seating areas at the restaurant, pool and by the bridge provide post-card like scenery that's perfect to share with friends and family, make new friends or even to just enjoy by one's-self. It's also fairly central to everywhere also. The staff are super-helpful and approachable and the Shanti Delight meal is amazing! There's also a very nice selection of herbs available, if you're into that sort of thing. My favourite was the White Widow strain but unfortunately I didn't get to sample the Rutz (33% THC) If you're staying in Phuket I would absolutely recommend spending at least one weekend here if not longer.

A wonderful place to stay! Nestled in a beautiful jungle garden, with water features and a big deep blue swimming pool! Clean and well priced rooms, with a weakly clean-up! Great food, and fresh ingredients grown on the premises! Helpful staff and fantastic management! Live music from time to time, and overall just a great place to spend your vacation, or for long-term stay, or just pop in for the day, enjoy the bar, restaurant and lounge at the pool. Ideal for private functions, business meetings, birthday parties etc.. with super fast and reliable WiFi.

The first South African restaurant we’ve been to outside of South Africa that hits all the Saffa flavours. Authentic, delicious and great value 😍.

Shanti lodge has a wonderful family atmosphere engendered by every one from owner to staff. The on-site restaurant is a bonus with a menu to suit all comers. No marble entrance hall for visitors to pay for, so it wil suit your budget too!

I stayed a few months ago and was instantly put at ease by the owner (who is absolutely lovely) and the overall atmosphere of the place. Love the decorations and traditional Thai look and hope to stay again soon. (They also have live music and even threw a market inside the resort which was really cool!) Thank you so much for your hospitality :)
