I found Russell’s Sunset Bar my first night here and was immediately drawn to warm interesting appearance and chill atmosphere. When I went in I was warmly greeted by Arissa and Fluke. They have a very good selection of spirits and cannabis. I returned the following night. It was interesting to see and meet people from all over the world and when it was found to be my birthday, this solo traveler had lovely group of new friends to celebrate with. I’m here a month and will be a patron. Thank you for this oasis.

Best bar in Panwa!! Russell and Arissa could not have done enough for us during our stay! This cute little bar is amazing. We rocked up with the wedding party of about 30+ people unannounced and Russel and his team managed to cater seats and great hospitality to us! The drinks are good and the atmosphere is fun for a late warm night taking in the sea breeze. Highly recommend and support this great little business!

This place is situated near the ocean and as the name states and amazing sunset. The staff are extremely helpful and always there for you when you need them. Highly recommend this place if you are traveling and want an ice cold drink and wanting to make new friends.

Our first time visiting Russel Sunset Bar was just at the end of Covid in April 2022. We were staying in Cape Panwa Hotel and wandered into the bar to be greeted with smiles all around. It very quickly became our local for the holiday. The atmosphere there is great - you come back from your day trips or relaxing day on the beach, Russel and Arissa are just such lovely people that they make you feel right at home. Before you know it, hours have passed by and you’ve spent the evening having an absolute laugh with either Russel, Arissa or other holidaymakers. At the beginning of the year we decided on visiting Phuket again and chose to stay in Cape Panwa so we could be close to the Sunset Bar, and our experience reaffirmed that we had made the right decision. We’ve gone home with more good memories, more good friendships and a stronger connection with everyone from Russel Sunset Bar. Speaking of which - the drinks are incredibly reasonably priced, the street food vendors are within spitting distance from the bar and you may be lucky enough to be allowed to bring some of the food back to your table. Sure, you could go to some massive bar in Patong, but if you’re looking for a bar where the staff will remember you every time you visit - this is the one. By the way, I recommend the caipirinha!
