Want to experience local vibe? Try floating market, Pracharat Floating Market in Surat Thani. There are food stalls, a cute karaoke sung by locals 🎤😋 and you can get a boat tour around too.

Last week of our 5 week food safari of Chiangmai and Surat Thani. This is a beautiful and peaceful floating market, with a very wide range of food stalls, several shophouse style and also full restaurant style venues. A delightful place.

The market was not open but we took a long tail boat ride from the ferry dock area around the river and mangrove. We were taken through the back waters where the floating villages are and passed the mangrove. One rare sighting was a monitor lizard, about 1.6m which was just exiting the water.

This market open only on Sunday so check this before you go. Many nice shops with traditional foods and local products. U You can park in the temple and just walk across the bridge. There are also the tourist boat where you can spend sometimes with the canal and nature. People there are super 👍. This is another place in Suratthani you shouldn't miss.

Really good place for sightseeing around Surat Thani and Tapi river, you can rent a long-boat to go around the canal and river, to observe the culture and way of living, the scenery is really nice. The market itself is not that big and not much to see. But the boat trip is really must.

Reach 830am. Park at temple and walk about 35m to reach the community bridge. Still not ready, ppl are busy setting up the food store, nice environment, insta friendly, place consider clean and retro. Worth visit

thai style sunday market. the market has 2 zones temple zone and garden zone. both have food zone. In temple zone sometime you can experience with rural thai way of life. In garden zone there's many kind of local thai food which's rarely to find in town. while walking in garden zone I don't feel hot or stuffy whether in sunny day. there's many small canal in garden zone make this zone cool. And you may find some handcrafted.

Really nice little 'Floating market' seems like a floating village in the middle of the jungle well worth looking. Lovely people and good atmosphere. You should arrive early as it gets very busy and very hot. Ideally arrive between 9am and 10 am. Canoes are available to take people out on the waterway, which is like a small river that curves through the jungle and seems leading to another side of the market. Best part is across the bridge. The short tour by boat is also recommended. Great variety of food, handicrafts (only few stands selling non-food items). Convenient car’s parking in front of the temple at the market entrance. Open on Sundays only.
