Very nice little spot by the waterfront. Decor is nice and art surrounding the walls. Host was nice and offer a variety of options. I had an iced coffee and tried some other drinks. The drinks were pretty good and they use paper straws to boot. Having Lake Ontario right outside gave us a nice walk with our drinks

August 31, 2023, at 1 p.m. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We decided to take a mid-day pause at the Art Cafe, relishing the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors on their open patio. Situated within a short stroll from the waterfront, this idyllic spot immediately caught our attention. Upon stepping inside, a warm and welcoming staff extended their greetings. It was a hot day, so I decided to give their iced coffee a shot, given the limited selection available. While it didn't exactly match my flavor preferences, my partner's choice of iced tea was a more gratifying selection, even though the supply ran short and the cup wasn't entirely filled. The staff, however, were gracious in their apology for the inconvenience. This venue plays host to a variety of events, making it advisable to peruse their website for activities that might pique your interest. It's also worth noting that the parking here is paid-only and can be limited depending on day and time.

Such a cute cafe! Their drink menu is quite comprehensive, and they also serve food. When we visited on a Sunday afternoon, there was a band playing just outside the cafe, and people were sitting listening while enjoying a drink.

First time visiting the OpenStudio Art Cafe. Hip, trendy Cafe with various pieces of paintings on the wall. Welcome greeting and friendly patrons both inside and out. Ordered the peach iced tea. There wasn't enough for a full cup, which was slightly disappointing however it tasted great and I enjoyed the fact that it appeared unsweetened as I don't put sugar in teas and coffees. Great views and patio. Multiple menu options, hot, cold beverages, snacks and sandwiches.

Great spot by the Pickering waterfront. Been here a number of times and it doesn’t disappoint. Today I was there for lunch and we had some great sandwiches. So tasty and just the right mix of ingredients. Have also been here a number of times for a great selection of different cafes. Great quality coffee. The staff are always nice too. Will come here again

I really liked the atmosphere and the space! It’s warm and welcoming even during a pandemic. So I am sure it’ll be more cozy when this is over. I mainly just got a cup of coffee and a sandwich and the quality wasn’t so bad. However, I will say that the price isn’t the greatest for what you’re getting. I would definitely pay over 10$ for a sandwich if it was made fresh instead of a pastry and then warmed up. The coffee on the other hand was pretty good and I had it black. I probably would come back for the coffee next time when conditions are more favourable and weather warmer

Honestly it's a very cute cafe and the only one right by the water. The coffee wasn't that great but the brownie was amazing. It's a bit expensive - overall it's a cute place and we would go back!

The worker is very friendly and always has a wonderful conversation with my family and I. She takes the effort to know her costumers. The drinks are great too. Their selection in cold drinks is great! They are a little bit pricy but the quality of it is worth it. It is a great location, however parking is always an issue. The ambiance is beautiful from the inside.

Came here to get some work done and ordered the matcha protein smoothie which was yummy and dairy free. I like that the prices on the menu include tax so you know instantly what you pay for. Love the location since it's in Frenchman Bay Area. Great place or coffee and a treat.

This is one of my fav secret spots. The family that runs it super nice. Opened for us even though they had just closed. Let us sit on their porch as long as we needed. Even after closing. Has cool art inside by some it's local

My absolute favourite place to go in Durham Region. It is my go-to and for good reason, the drinks are delicious (my recommendation is the Nutella drink or Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein shake), the atmosphere is unbeatable (cute porch and patio and nice lighting indoors), and the people are so welcoming. I almost forgot the live music...highly recommend!

This is by far my favorite spot for a perfect Friday night open mic and jam along with super-talented fellow musicians, lovely fans intimate crowd, great friends! Warm welcoming atmosphere, I love it when new acts are surprisingly presented. Not to mention the established artists playing on the porch over the weekends, weather allowed, or inside. Not only music, but also painting events, all-dressed up wine tasting with live piano background. A very inclusive crowd, my retreat in Durham region music circle. Service is nothing less than family level hospitality, Michele and Tyler will prepare any preferred hot beverage that soothes your soul. Artist friendly spot, sport lovers favorite stop by spot, just by the lake in a tourist favorite area. As I said, perfect!

This is one of the most welcoming places in the Nautical Village, Pickering. I love the feeling I get when I walk into the place and am always greeted with a great big smile. Great cappuccinos, etc. and there’s always something yummy to eat. Michele and Tyler always treat everyone with respect and kindness and make everyone feel special. Special events at the cafe are an added bonus, from open-mic Friday nights, Music on the Porch by many excellent musicians that we have come to know and love. It doesn’t hurt that this cafe is in a perfect location, just a few minutes from the beautiful lake and lakefront. What more can one ask for? Visit the cafe and you can see for yourself all the things there is to love about it! My safe and happy place! ❤️

Used to come here during the pandemic because I wanted to support local business. Plus it was an excuse to get out of the house when working from home. The coffee they use is pretty decent, I use it myself, though I have a recently changed brands. The owner is super nice and remembers faces. The food is about what you would expect as a coffee shop, I personally enjoyed the coffee pastries. The only criticism I have is the price was a bit high at least when I was going, not sure what it is now. The service was a little slow, I usually would only go in the middle of the day when there wasn't other people. I personally don't mind myself, but you might wanna consider taking the taataa's off the wall. Lots of people come by with their kids, some more sensitive to that sort of thing than others. Otherwise, the place is a solid local coffee shop. I definitely miss it after moving.

One of the very few coffee shops in Pickering that isn’t a Timmies or Starbucks. Espresso-based drinks were good. Tried the muffin and peanut butter cookie which was good as well. Overall, it was a good mom&pop cafe experience.

Such a unique and cozy café, the owner is so nice and accommodating. There's limited food items, but lots of drink options. Really nice paintings all around too.

Dimly lit place with terrible ambience. The girl that served us looked like she didn’t want to be there, the food/drinks were way too overpriced and bland (the Nutella milkshake was not worth it at all). Could get better drinks at the timmies down the road for cheaper. Would not recommend this cafe

My Mom and I had a coffee and late lunch snack. The person that served us was great and the little patio along with food and coffee made for a very pleasant experience. Will be back soon!

I was craving delicious coffee and decided to try somewhere new. I got an iced Americano (I believe. I didn't fully pay attention, I just asked for an iced coffee.) I added oat milk at no extra charge. This place didn't disappoint. It was delicious and I'll definitely be back. Side note: I went on Saturday afternoon in the summer, so finding parking in this area took some time.

Amazing protein/energy bars give you a great kick on a longer ride. Pretty good espresso and a relaxing atmosphere; they also sell done local brews but I was mid-ride so I didn't indulge. Bananas and some energy/recovery gels were available as well so good to know. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff but CASH ONLY and no tap on debit were a huge downer. Are we in 1999 or 2019?

Yummy amazing coffee and espresso on the coolest little street in Pickering. Nice patio seating outside too! Highly recommended. Also part of Ontario by Bike.

Very cute cafe with some yummy treats but pretty pricey in my opinion. We got some treats (cookies, muffins, toffee) and a coffee and it cost $36.

I was wondering why I find myself frequently visiting the Open Studio Art Cafe in Pickering. After all, there are much closer cafes where I live. From the moment I enter this particular Cafe I am treated like a special guest, and I do like that feeling. The staff, the people who visit, and the decor that surrounds me makes me feel like this is a friendly place. The Cafe beverages I request are always delicious, and menu items like the Cafe breakfast sandwich always puts a smile on my face. I also like that they offer live music on the porch in the summer, open mic once a week and special art and wine events throughout the year. And it is close to another one of my favourite places... the lake! This Cafe is my once-a-week, 2-hour escape and I wish I had more time to spend at the Open Studio Art Cafe.
