crossfit
pickering
is
an
amazing
gym
in
the
durham
region
to
challenge
every
participant
both
physically
and
mentally,
no
matter
what
their
capabilities
are.
i
have
been
coming
to
crossfit
pickering
since
2018,
from
the
age
of
18
to
now
at
23,
and
have
felt
accepted
and
encouraged
by
every
single
member
and
coach
throughout
the
entirety
of
my
time
here.
i
think
it’s
very
common
(especially
at
my
age)
to
wake
up
in
the
morning,
thinking
how
the
last
thing
i
want
to
do
is
workout.
but
each
time
i
take
a
class
at
crossfit
pickering
i
leave
feeling
energized,
looking
back
at
the
past
hour
spent
at
crossfit
pickering
as
a
highlight
of
my
day.
during
and
at
the
end
of
every
single
workout,
i
am
always
met
with
encouragement
from
every
single
person
in
the
gym
and
community.
the
coaches
truly
make
this
place
as
special
as
it
is.
they
review
each
movement
at
every
class
regardless
of
whether
the
members
are
new
or
seasoned
crossfitters,
allowing
veteran
athletes
time
to
review
movements
while
never
singling
out
those
who
are
just
starting.
they
always
help
us
and
push
us
towards
our
goals,
while
keeping
the
safety
of
everyone
in
the
gym
as
the
first
priority.
the
gymnastics
class
is
a
personal
favourite
of
mine,
which
is
included
in
the
membership.
this
class
provides
an
hour
of
practice
and
conditioning
twice
a
week
on
movements
like
pull-ups
and
handstand
work,
as
well
as
options
for
progressions
to
achieve
these
more
difficult
movements
to
take
to
group
classes
and
use
in
WODs.
whenever
i
tell
people
i
do
crossfit,
i
am
always
waiting
for
their
cringe,
of
their
beliefs
that
this
is
a
dangerous
sport,
or
that
people
push
themselves
too
hard
and
don’t
know
when
to
stop.
but
at
crossfit
pickering,
where
functional
movement
is
prioritized
and
safety
is
always
the
first
concern,
the
community
and
coaches
create
a
safe
space
for
each
member
to
push
themselves
to
achieve
lifelong
goals,
and
create
new
ones
every
day.
