My entire experience there was just bad. The receptionists had absolutely no compassion despite the fact that I was in tears on the phone. It was impossible to get an appointment and when I finally did both appointments were missed by the Doctor. The receptionist nor the Doctor could have cared less about me, that was clear. A Doctor, presumably goes into medicine to help people, the male Doctor there seems to only be interested in billing OHIP for as much as he can as he forces you to book a phone appointment before he even agrees to see you. Why have a walk-in if you can't even get an appointment or walk-in? Why get into a job that deals with people as a receptionist if you actually hate people? I can now understand why with so many people desperate to find a family Doctor, this particular practice has not filled up in over 2 years!

Very UNPROFESSIONAL.. I had a very unpleasant experience with Dr. Mansukhani. He was rude, unprofessional and very dismissive .He barely listened to what I had to say and interrupted me several times. He did not explain anything clearly and seemed annoyed for no reason. I felt humiliated anddisrespected by his attitude. I do not recommend him to anyone who values their health and self respect. I am a health care professional too, but i havent seen such an unprofessional doctor in my career.

Arrived at 12:35 pm on Sunday. Receptionist dismissed me said that no more patients today. I was told that they want to leave on time?? Even after I actually told her my daughters symptom's. Pathetic like our health care. People like her have jobs - she needs to check herself and perhaps work in a different environment.

I made an apt yesterday and came in this morning. The appointment was on time. Not rushed. Great, friendly, respectable staff. I had the courtesy to be seen by Mansukhani, Tarun. He is professional, caring, and genuine.

I don’t have any photos but the doctor here had no compassion at all. I had a severe issue that needed to be looked at asap it was a female situation thing & I needed medication that is why I needed to get in contact with him in the first place & he told me to go to the hospital so I can wait 9 hours dying in pain there like smh without no pills or anything to help. Also, am constantly in and out of the hospital weekly and if the a hole doctor in there does nothing am pretty sure it won’t work especially in emerge waiting for 9 hours like it’s horrible. The best part of it was the secretary she was really nice and felt so bad for me. That is honestly why I’m giving it a two. Other then that the doctors here are trash and THEY WILL NOT HELP U ! I am so disappointed and frustrated how a person can be cruel the way that doctor was and he also had said “Oh he doesn’t have my health card” and I told him I gave it to the lady already then he went to say “I haven’t been a patient there” WHICH I HAVE GONE 4 TIMES !!!! My dad has taken me twice & I drove twice to there and have been inside the place and talked to a doctor there before. Unreal !

Save yourself and stay away from this clinic. Dr. Tarun Mansukhani and his office in Pickering are more like a business center rather than a medical center. He doesn't care about patients only getting people in his office to swap the OHIP card and then release the info. Examples: 1) They charge for any kind of referral e.g., you need an orthotic device - you need to pay out of pocket. 2)If you go for a checkup, you have to book another appointment to just find out if you are Ok and no action is required! Best practices are dr. offices tell you that if they do not call you then you assume there is no issue with your results and If there is a problem, then they call you so you book an appointment with your doctor to discuss the next step- reception told me our practice here is different and we do not call you, either way, you need to book and come even if your results are OK- I was there for another test and the other doctor also did not say if my blood test were ok or not.3) I booked for a test over the phone and they booked me. When I went there, they told me this test due date has not come yet and I need to wait couple of more months. I asked why they did not disclose this timing limit over the phone before booking me in. The receptionist told me I am just a receptionist and that my last check date is confidential (she doesn't check!) and I should monitor when my test is due! So I should have come to the office, use my OHIP card and then find out about it! 4) Doctors Mansukhani is not knowledgeable and patient to listen to your concerns. He also is not hygienic (wore a dirty and torn white shirt each time I was there) He is a doctor and you do not expect to see that. In summary, my suggestion is to stay away from this doctor and his clinic in Pickering not sure why his practice location stayed in Markham in the rate me my doctor but if ppl in Markham seems not happy with him too!

Nowadays, no dr cares for the ppl! We need to test and examine ourselves , and the dr holds the technology! Only asks questions, no checkups! Only work for money, not for ppl.. It's really hard to find good caring, Dr's! This is the worst place for caring, Dr's!

My wife and my daughter went to this walk-in clinic to see a doctor a couple days ago. The receptionists treated them very poorly. They were extremely rude and constantly yelled at my wife. They tried to convince my wife to have an over the phone visit with the doctor instead of a face-to-face appointment. When my wife complained to the doctor about this issue, he simply justified the behaviour of his staff. This is beyond unprofessional. Stay away from these people. I would give zero stars if it was an option. Read the reviews before paying a visit.

Should have read the reviews before visiting this clinic. Dr. tarun mansukhani was rude and unprofessional. He didn’t even bother to look at the injury I had. I bet he wanted to be a singer but accidentally ended up being a doctor due to family pressure. This dude needs to relax or divert his energy into something he actually likes.

Will claim to "give you a call back" and wont give one after Recently called and the receptionist was making literally random snarky comments and giggling when I'm just searching for where I got an X ray. Like it was like they were just out to be insulting. I wasnt acting in any sort of way, just trying to get information on a chest x ray without any tone and they were acting oddly antagonistic throughout the entire call. It was honestly sort of shocking. I genuinely say I have no idea why they were just out to act mean from the moment the call started. I guess this is how it is in the modern family doctor shortage of Canada. Outside of that phone call, generally very inconsistent service that you will have to hardcore self advocate for to get anything done at all

Waste of time going here! The doctors here only want to charge ohip by making you constantly come in for retesting and results (including negative results which they refuse to give over the phone but also they do not even inform clients that their results are even ready)! This is terrible service. On two different occasions they lost lab samples for myself and my husband…so they get to swipe your card again days later while you may be still suffering with unresolved symptoms. Plan to find a different competent walk-in as these doctors and their lab and protocols will waste your time!

Literally just finished transferring from our old family doctor to Dr. Shakoor only to get a letter that she is leaving Amberlea Medical and there is no replacement. As well we saw Dr. Tarun Mansukhani who was condescending and rude to both my daughter and me. He said "so if you go to the drugstore... there is a product called gravol". My daughter had been feeling sick for weeks, and he treated us like she woke up with a stomach bug and we went running to the doctor.

Doctor didn't even help us. If you're in need of anything more than a quick write off for a common cold don't bother going here. We came in to get a few stitches taken out of a thumb. Waited our turn, got in the room only for the doctor to look at it and confirm they could come out but refused because there was a dried blood scab on part of the stitch and it would take "too long" to get the scab off. When we said we were happy to soak the scab and wait while he saw other patients he dismissed us again saying to do it at home and come back two days later (the following day the office was closed). We ended up going home, soaking the stitches to remove the scab and taking them out ourselves. Whole process took 10 minutes.

Condescending doctor whose provisional diagnosis was just plainly wrong. He "explained" to me how my pain and symptoms couldn't possibly be as I'd described. Somehow he both questioned (three times) why I thought my condition was urgent enough to warrant attending the clinic while also instructing me to go to the ER. One reason I attended was because Telehealth suggested I go to urgent care to get a requisition for an ultrasound. He started filling out a requisition, changed his mind, refused to provide it and instructed me to go to the ER to have an ultrasound instead. He clearly didn't want to order any tests that would require him to follow-up. I don't usually write reviews, but I was motivated to after such a belittling, negative experience.

Rude, condescending, dismissive. A batch of doctors whose only real interest is limiting patient access to testing resources. This should be your clinic of last resort, and even then, it’s hard to imagine there aren’t better options elsewhere. I’d rather wait four hours in an ER.

Adding to an earlier review about the rude male doctor. No bedside manner. Even when dealing with children. Don’t know if he owns the clinic or is an employee but he clearly didn’t take the bedside manner class in Med school. Guys like him don’t understand how far a good, empathetic demeanour will go in patient care, not to mention it’s just good business. Hope he reads this or someone over there does so they can fix this. It costs nothing and has a high ROI

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Shakoor. She was very thorough in investigating my and my daughters medical situation. She ordered tests and we were relieved to have an answer. Dr. Shakoor explained things very clearly and gave us a better understanding of our situation and the possible options/routes. Dr. Shakoor was kind and followed up with us weeks later (although,we were virtual walk-in patients), which goes to show the care and dedication she has for her patients. The reception staff is wonderful here! They are very friendly, pleasant and helpful. They are quick in their response time and detailed in their work. However, I have had awful experiences with the male doctor at this clinic. Both times he has been condescending, did not listen to my concerns and made the process of getting help far too difficult. I also found him to be dismissive and giving direction that was contradictory to common and medical knowledge. It was unfortunately, very frustrating and I was luckily able to get the medical care from elsewhere in time. *****Giving 5 stars for Dr. Shakoor & Reception Staff

Dr. Mansukhani is extremely condescending and unprofessional. I came in months ago for a possible sinus infection and he told me that I needed to chew gum or carrots to open up my sinuses. I went back today and he told me that I need to be going to my family doctor and that I’m wasting other peoples time going to a walk in. He stated that I was taking up somebody else’s spot who actually needed it.

Great experience. Called at 230pm and was able to receive a walk in appointment (for my daughter) at 5:00pm, after speaking with the Dr. over the phone. Friendly receptionists and Dr. was prompt, helpful, and friendly. Thank you!

After many months of looking for a family doctor in Durham with no success, I came across Amberlea Medical Centre, and was able to sign on as a patient of the clinic right away. Although my meet and greet with Dr. Shakoor was not until a few weeks later, I was able to speak with her on the phone several times before that during her walk-in hours. Dr. Shakoor is very attentive, patient and caring, and she takes the time to listen to my concerns and questions. She also ensured that I was able to get the tests and referral to a specialist that I needed very promptly. Dr. Shakoor's receptionist is amazing, too! She is very polite, friendly, and has booked all my tests and specialist appointments for me very quickly. My experience with Amberlea so far has been very positive.

The administration staff are nice and helped me out when I lost my form. For the doctors it's the same thing like anywhere else you must advocate for yourself. I understand they are limited to one issue per visit, but when it comes to testing there should be more leniency. I wanted a blood and urine test but only got a blood requisition and ran out of fight. I was told to get a family doctor which I ended up finding but if I was not lucky I'd be stuck without getting these test run. Too all those in need good luck.

I have been seeing Dr. Mansukhani. He is very kind and soft-spoken. I like that he really takes the time to listen to my concerns and then works with me to figure out the best solution for me and for my family. The receptionist is also very kind and personable. I will be moving my whole family to this location for family medicine. Thank you.

Don't really know how to rate a walk-in clinic - kind of an all or nothing approach. I was able to book a telephone appointment pretty easily and discussed my issue with the female doctor. She was able to solve my issue.

took blood work to for pregnancy, went on vacation wasn’t in Canada. I called with concerns of me being pregnant wanted to know my test result and they would not release it over the phone. 20 minutes back and fourth of me saying IM NOT IN CANADA I CAN NOT COME SEE THIS DOCTOR. Still nothing was told they couldn’t help me, I called my main doctor information was released within 1 min of the call after explaining they won’t release MY blood work. (if another doctor office is questioning the walk in stay away) If you want an office that cares about your health just avoid this place. It’s not my first time having problems it’s just the closest to my house but will never be seeing me again.

The male dr here was nice the first few times but after that he didn't listen and seemed like he thought he knew better. When I told him I needed off something it took extreme measured to achieve it.

When my own family doctor refused to see my children and I during covid the doctors at this clinic did. All the doctors at this clinic are amazing and thorough. The secretaries are kind and the clinic is clean.

I had a great experience. Even though they had challenges because of the Rogers system outage, they were courteous and efficient. The doctor was kind, thorough, and very knowledgable.

Bad experience. Whoever was that doctor he definitely was there eonky for Ohip payment, he only attends by phone and the call lasted about 10 seconds. He finished the call short and did not prescribe or give any advice of what to do, just "deal with xxx condition that you have and then call me".... if I knew hot to treat that "condition" I would have not called a doctor. Is a shame there is no audit to ensure they don't get paid when they do this kind of stuff.

Went yesterday because I couldn't swallow food or liquids, it was hurting me way too much. All the doctor did was take a swab test and tell me drink liquids. Within 2 mins we were done and he sent me home. Today my throat got worse, I went to another walk in and they told me my tonsils were inflamed and prescribed me antibiotics. Need professionals at this clinic period. Shouldn't be making clients feel worse.

  • 1/5 Amanda R. 2 years ago on Google
I am very disappointed with my experience at this clinic. I was sick, prescribed antibiotics from a male doctor here & when I called to ask for a doctors note I was shamed for being off of work for so long and spoken to in a very disrespectful manner. There was no compassion or kindness shown from this doctor. I had a cough, and was told I should have gone back to work 2 or 3 days after starting the antibiotics. "people still go to work with a cough or cold". This was not instructed to me when he gave me the antibiotics and so I was scolded for missing work longer and not calling back when I wasn't feeling better after 2/3 days, which he never instructed me to do in the first place. I will not return to this clinic or encourage anyone to see this doctor. People see doctors when they are sick and need help. They should be taken care of & encouraged to do what they need to in order to recover, not shamed & told to feel worse than they already do for taking time off of work. But at the end of the day, he wrote a doctors note and happily took my money & charged me for it.

The receptionist is amazing but the male doctor is snobby and rude. I've been here on two occasions and he has not helped one bit and has no respect. I was explaining serious symptoms and was cut off and told to use over the counter medication, I got a second opinion and turns out I had a serious infection. This guy is a joke

I think this is the first receptionist I’ve ever spoken to who is above and beyond friendly, patient, and professional. It’s a breath of fresh air to speak to someone who seems to love her job and knows how to treat people. I was also amazed at how fast the doctor calls back and got my concerns taken care of very fast, and was extremely thorough. I highly recommend this amazing walk in!

My family and I have been seeing Dr Mansukhani at Amberlea medical ever since it started. The staff at the front desk is very polite and helpful, especially Natalie who I adore. She is also a nurse and it's always a pleasure to chat with her while she does my blood work. Dr Mansukhani has always listened to my concerns with patience, same with my child who has multiple disabilities. He has never disregarded my opinion and views on alternative medicine. He takes time to search for specialists and loops me in on my thoughts as well. He explains to me what is going on in my body, and never rushes on details. Very polite, soft spoken and knowledgeable with great manners. I would highly recommend Dr Mansukhani and this clinic.

Worst experience ever with all the receptionists. Not being emphatic at all. My kid fainted in front of them and they said unless patient is dying we cannot prioritize waiting. We were waiting for 3 hours and after 3 hours my kid fainted and nobody cared. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and this is my worst experience ever. They should train the receptionist to be more empathetic.
