    Haven't been in a fabric land store in years ,They didn't quite have in stock what I was looking for , needed to recover a beach chair, but the staff were great. Can't understand the negative" I cant wear a mask reviews" . WEAR a mask , it wont kill you for 10 minutes , Typical entitled people. I'm in retail and those who are like me will relate to this,

    staff very racial and very rude. I went to this location looking for curtains tassel. I wanted only two min to see if they have the colour or not . I came from Ajax and when I arrived they almost closing but it was two min before closing so technically it’s illegal to not let me in . The security guy refused to let me in until I insisted that it’s my right. The women who work their are ready rude and they won’t help because they close the cashier. I told them I want to see if you have the items. They keep focusing on me although there were other customers still shopping in the store. I didn’t find what I want and decided to go .while I am heading to the door , the security guard said “ she didn’t even buy anything “ I told him excuse me are you talking to me . He said go go , go now . I sad how rude you are, and the workers their are supporting him . I told him where is your manager, that’s a disaster to hire such people. He said the manager is not here go now I want to go home . I said you don’t have the right to talk to me this way but as my religion teach me , I wish you enjoy the rest of your day and have a good night. And I left . No wonder why they start closing so many locations. Poor customer service. I own a business and we treat customers very well, the customer is always right and our goal is to keep our customers happy. This is the policy of any successful business. I am seeing fabric land going out of business soon and whoever read my review, remember me then .

    Darlene at this location is a miserable human being and unnecessarily disgustingly rude. It was my and my husband’s first time at this store and we didn’t know that only staff members are permitted to cut materials. My husband and I were waiting at a cutting table and Darlene rudely said, ”Can you move? You can go to the next table.” My husband and I looked at each other, baffled by Darlene’s rudeness - but we let it go. Having not been to the store before, we assumed she meant we could cut the piece of velcro we required at the other table. When we finished up, she raised her voice and said, “DID YOU CUT THAT?!? YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO CUT THAT! I HAVE TO CUT THAT AND GIVE YOU A RECEIPT SO YOU CAN PAY!” I noted that we didn’t know this, and my husband gave her the strip of velcro. While already writing out the receipt, Darlene rudely remarked, “It’s not self-serve!” I retorted, “Yeah, we know NOW!” Not sure why Darlene couldn’t just let it go - we had already told her we didn’t know we weren’t supposed to cut the velcro ourselves, and it wasn’t a big deal at all. It’s pretty sad that such a miserable human being finds the need to POWER TRIP OVER CUTTING FABRIC. Just pathetic, Darlene. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back! Really hope management reprimands Darlene for being an absolute customer service disaster! And Darlene, learn some basic decency and respect - you should be embarrassed of how you conduct yourself.

    I like this location. Merchandised nicely, tidy and clean. Most of the staff is friendly. I didn't have tough questions and knew what I wanted so I didn't really test their knowledge. Wish they had some printed spandex and not just solids. Good selection of woven and knit fabrics for clothing in a variety of fibers. Patterns and colour seem fresher/more modern than years past. Lots of cotton prints for quilting. Home decor fabric is pretty extensive though I haven't made anything in that area for awhile so can't comment on the selection. Cost of notions is pricey but that has always been true with this chain. They offer a membership card with discounts that can be worth if you buy at full price Check out the clearance section as there is always something fun to be found.

    I've been going to this store since they opened and I only had great experiences. Vanessa is such a darling and so, so helpful, professional, courteous and very knowledgeable!!!! Reading some of the negative reviews, I must say: I am shocked!!!! Not even once, and I've been there MANY, MANY, MANY times, did I encounter or saw anyone acting less than very professional. Really!!!! I think some people need to take a "chill pill" and understand that each staff has only 2 hands and they can only serve ONE customer at a time! And between serving customers and rearranging the mess some customers leave behind, those ladies are quite busy! So next time you read a negative review, read "between the lines", too. Some people are acting very entitled and I bet that those are the ones that never leave a good review, just bad and exaggerated ones, or just their "truth"... To sum up: Thank YOU, ladies, for putting up with some very messy, very inconsiderate and very entitled customers, for all your patience and for always have a smile on your face!

    this location is the best in Durham imo, from selection to customer service. The women working there are always lovely, and have good rapport with customers and each other. They really go above and beyond to help you find the material you need for your project. As this is a larger location they also have the largest selection of fabrics and the biggest clearance section in the area. They do close at 6 most weekdays but stay open til 8 on thursday and friday if you do need to get there later in the day.

    Amazing customer service. They knew about their fabrics nicely. And prices were exceptional. Didn't find many prints in the fabric I was specifically looking for but one of the employees said they receive new shipment every week so there should be more coming in a few weeks hopefully. Comparing to another location I went to last week, my visit was splendid! (That one didn't know if they even had that fabric and employees sent me to another to another one. )

    I like Fabric Land, and they had a lot of sales going on so I don't have any complaints. The staff are nice and also will tell you about any sales if your item is full price but another similar item is on sale. A+ from me.

    I have had good experiences at this particular store. It is further to drive for me but worth it since the staff here are much more attentive and helpful. Avoid the location at Milner and Shepard Ave in Scarborough. You might leave crying.

    I just went to Fabricland, Pickering to get a zipper for my jacket. A lady helped me to find a zipper without too much trouble. I then queued up to pay and then another lady approached me and said, let me have a look at your jacket. She checked it out and said, its an issue with the slider and let me fix it for you. She went and got another zipper and replaced the slider and my jacket's zipper was as good as new and working perfectly. This lady's name is Ida (sorry, If I've spelt your name wrong!), the Store Manager and she saved me more than $50 (tailor fee) and the time. We need lots of lots Ida's in this world, she was absolutely awesome. THANK YOU so much Ida.

    The women at the store could use some customer service training. No basic greeting, not even a WELCOME when I said Thank you. This is not the first time, fabric land gives this negative/ poor customer service. I hope the management looks into allocating time for customer service training.
