Tasty food, quick service, great quantity for take out, slightly pricey but well worth it. Edit: came by again and was pleasantly surprised to see the menu grow, with new options and tasty flavours. Not as pricy as I once thought they were after going to other cafes. It can get very busy in here but I think they do a good job of handling it.

Look at the picture… $15 for this….. quiet in the restaurant and they ignored me while I’m waiting at the table to pick up an order I made 30 minutes prior. On top they had the audacity to ask for a tip in takeout.

There was no wait on a Sunday morning which was nice. The service was quick, there was a mistake with my egg order but it was fixed quickly. The crab cake Benedict is sooo delicious! I tried it last week and had to go back again before it was over to get it. In love!!! The flavors are amazing. I get it with a fried egg over hard instead. The home fries are meh, could use some love. Other that great place and food

First time trying Sunset Grill and it was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had eating out somewhere. First from sitting down at our table, it took them over 10 minutes to come clear off the previous customers food. Now after we ordered it took OVER 45 minutes to bring our food out. Once the food finally arrived, my steak which was supposed to be a medium rare came out well done and extremely dry. The potatoes were also cold Had no cutlery for the food so we had to ask the waitress several times, then when then the cutlery came out I received a butter knife to cut my hard dry steak. Had no milk or cream for the coffee I ordered but by that point I just figured it would be best to get up and ask for it personally rather wait another 15 minutes to get something. Definitely don't recommend this place to anyone, extremely unorganized and food is beyond terrible You know it's bad when the person who never writes reviews for anything actually ends up writing a review, don't waste your money here.

A great place for a greasy breakfast on a Sunday morning. Sunset grill is one of the restaurants I miss while living abroad. It was busy, but they still managed to squeeze us in, and the waitress was very attentive w/ coffee, even though we were near the corner.

Our waitress Kaila was so sweet and kind. The food however is the reason we won't be coming back (as Saturday regulars this hurts) The orange juice was extremely sour and there was an eyelash in my food. Which the waitress did comp us for. However the kicker was that there was actual mold on 2 slices of the bread. This is upsetting because we truly do appreciate the service staff there. Hopefully the food quality will get better so we can return!

Horrible service. I had waitress named Lisa, who was very rude. I made it clear from the start that my father and I do not eat pork before placing an order. However, I went on to ordering western omelet, but I said “instead of the ham being in the omelet please replace it with turkey bacon.” When the food arrived she brought two omelettes with ham and turkey bacon in it and got upset when it was brought to her attention. Absolutely ridiculous.

Always have breakfast at this location after bloodwork. Lisa is an amazing server, making you feel comfortable and fast service. Sausages are the best

Ordered take out today. 6 orders. The person taking the order was not friendly. She was getting the order wrong and was giving attitude when try to correct order. Picked up the order and came home and order was incorrect. Called the store back and she said they put them in different boxes and not all together. Missing toasts, French toasts. Unsure why one order had all the food in one box but rest was separated. She just said sorry and that was it. Didn’t even ask if we wanted to pick up the missing order. Will not be returning .

The lady took the order shouldn’t be working at places like this. Don’t know how to take the orders or talk to customers. She overcharged me. The worse part is that she is fighting with a customer and shows the middle finger to the customer. 👎 I wonder why the place was empty. Hope the boss read this and do something about it.

Eggs were over done, the order was completely messed up. The waitress was kind and apologetic. The biggest concern was the over cooked food. Maybe it wasn't their best day.

Wide array of breakfast foods available all day. We had a large party and everyone enjoyed their meal. The breakfast potatoes are great, and my eggs benedict were delicious.

Great service and food today! I noticed a couple of reviews further down by an Elisabeth and a Les. Those r the same ppl by the way. Same review and same mentioning of a different location in Calgary. Interesting. Seems like someone is purposely ruining your reviews. I enjoyed myself, reasonably priced, quickly served. Took three tries to get my order right. By the third try the sandwich was right but the side of home fries were raw. Waitress was great in trying to make things right and ended up not charging us for the meal.

No taste in the food. Poor service too.

I placed a pick up order. I live 20 minutes away. I got to this location 40 minutes after ordering to pick up my order of 3 different meals. One of the staff was sitting eating 1 of my breakfast orders. Said they gave it away at first. But I looked to see him eating my order. He said he didn’t know if I was coming to pick up my order. They never called me to see where I was. He only remade the order he was eating. He DID NOT remake the entire order. If they were really concerned about contamination they would have remade the entire order. Which they did not.

I had the Spinach and feta but sub feta with mushrooms was ok. They forgot the bread so I had to wait around 10 mins. Decent spot

After the snowstorm on Saturday. My wife and I decided that we would go out for breakfast. We are regulars at a different diner but we thought we would give sunset grill a try. We weren’t disappointed. The waitress was very nice. Our son wanted to sit by the window and the waitress quickly cleaned up and sat us down right away. My wife and I both got the 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, potatoes and toast and coffee. Our son got the kids menu version of that with an apple juice. We all enjoyed our meals and definitely go back.

Service was fast and friendly. The pemeal was awesome, nice to have a classic sit down diner breakfast. See you again soon 🙂

***Update on Sept 22, after management response: On Sept 9, the day of our reviewed experience, dear management you only had TWO waitresses in the restaurant: One was middle aged, maybe forties, very slim, and whose hair was a brownish-blonde (very light brown, which I see as dirt-blonde). with a tiny ponytail. I wanted to genuinely HELP you make this a better place, like it used to be, yet you get on the defensive, despite my good intentions. You know perfectly whom I was referring to when I said "slim blonde", despite she might not be an actual blonde. The other waitress was short-haired, brown , and not slim, your regular waitress we've seen there all this summer and the one who took our order on Sept 9. The staff must also recall who was the slim waitress who bumped into the other one and made her drop the food on the floor. The cooks will also recall who which one of the two waitresses was entertaining them loudly, and that we left unhappy because our order was missed. All you need to do is ASK your staff if anything went out of the ordinary on Sept 9. I do not believe such things happen every day, but I am maybe wrong?!... Management, you do not seem willing to investigate, unfortunately. That is disappointing for you to refuse to improve restaurant operations only because your definition of "blonde" does not correspond to mine. Too bad it did not cross my mind to record on video what happened that day. However I can identify that waitress in person, to help you finally proceed with your internal investigation .*** Quality of service has gone way down since before Covid.... We used to eat here regularly and at that time, food was excellent and staff attentive. This summer, we went back again 2-3 times, food was still good. On Sep 9, 2021 it was probably the last time we went there. The restaurant's atmosphere is in decline, due to the current staff's behaviour. The blond, slim, middle-aged waitress was too loud and cozy with the cooks, with whom she shared endless stories and loud laughter, as we were waiting, famished and frustrated, for our food. She also bumped abruptly into the other waitress who was carrying food to a table, and the food ended up on the floor. We felt like in an below-average fast food joint. After 32 mins of waiting for the food we inquired, and found out our order was missed somehow. Yet nobody bothered to check with the cooks, which at the time of our inquiry were on idle... That is poor care to the customer, on behalf of everybody. Yet we always tip generously. Well, lesson learned... Good food can be find in many places, along with nice atmosphere and pleasant and caring attitude from staff. So we'll check out other places.

I recently visited this restaurant. After waiting for about half an hour I found out that they hadn't even started with my order, so I decided to leave and eat at some other place. The waiter didn't apologize and told me to pay for the coffee that I drunk waiting for my food. Very disappointing experience. I don't recommend this place, and I will never come to this restaurant again.

Some of this chain's breakfast and service can be hit or miss. this one is a little above average, Food was good, service was ok. This review was before the lockdown. All of our local restaurants have been hit hard during Co-Vid 19, Please support our local restaurants

Ordered Veggie Omlette with Ham, omlette came and was not cooked fully, also there was no ham added to the omlette. Server did not introduce herself, server did not refill my small coffee cup in twenty minutes. Server did not ask whether my wife wanted fries with her Turkey Club sandwhich, brought roasted cut potatoes, the turkey looked highly highly processed. Informed person at front counter of this and promptly left. I do not reccomend this location. Been to one Calgary at Sage Hill and never had a bad experience after about 10 visits.

Unfortunately we have been regular pancake lovers and the size of the pancakes has significantly decreased. What looked like adult size portions are now child like portions and the same price. Really disappointed

If I could I would give it half or no star. Christmas Early morning our stove/oven died. Our family needed food, we ordered $80 worth of breakfast & as well as tip to the restaurant to keep them afloat, we got the delivery option. We didn’t have the extra money but it was Christmas and kids ... After an hr & a half we received an order it was someone else’s, they couldn’t take it back. We called the delivery service we were refunded not even over half our money. A call or something would have nice from the restaurant, but nothing we gave it a few days to see if they would reach out and at least say thank you for the contribution but nothing. We were looking forward to writing a positive review as we enjoyed this restaurant many times before however not anymore...

Not the best experience I've had with this company as the one in Sage Hill Calgary was much better at quality in food and service. They don't have a turkey club on menu but in Calgary I was able to order it and they would provide a better quality meat. I came to this location and I received a processed slice meat that I couldn't tell if it was actually turkey. And the menu said it came with fries but I was given roasted potatoes. To top it off the "veggies on the side" is a sad excuse. 1 carrot and a sad looking zucchini doesn't constitute as veggies on the side. The service was not that great as the entire 20+ minutes we were there my husband's coffee was not refilled and we weren't asked if we needed anything or how was our food. Yet the server kept going to serve other customers coming in. The roasted potatoes was barely cooked too. Not even the slightest bit crunchy. I wish I had a picture to show of my dish but as soon as my husband and I received our food we wanted to leave. My husband's omelet was undercooked and when he asked for ham never received it. Sad to say I won't be coming to this location or any others while I'm in Ontario.

Great food, great quality, large quantity, fantastic staff. This one is my favorite due to the great customer service. The chef have to be good, always in good mood and food quality is above standards. Would highly recommend 👌
