Attended a wedding ceremony here. The service was extremely great and the food and beverages were of top quality and delicious. The staff must be appreciated for their friendly and fast service. Specially should appreciate the great view. Can watch elephant bathing right from the hotel itself. The location can be rated as 5 stars, since it is amidst hills which touch the clouds thereby creating scenic views worth enough to capture. Hence attract thousands of tourists. Looking forward to paying a visit again

Very dirty rooms. Even the toilet has not been cleaned when we checked in. We made a request but the Manager said that we have not flushed the toilet. The commode seat was full of stains and it seemed to be that they have not cleaned them for ages. We have visited a large number of hotels and resorts throughout the country and the Manager at the Hotel Elephant Bay seems the person with the worst attitudes. We booked the room for 2 nights. But, no one supplied us enough water and coffee or tea. There was an electric kettle but there were no any fitting sockets. Overall the diningware was not clean. So much stains on everywhere. It was not a comfortable stay at all.

Where do I start? First, I checked into a garden view room and the room was dirty with dirty sheets. Secondly, there is no communication between the morning and night staff. The TV didn't work and the staff didn't even care to fix it. Not worth spending money on food as well. Room attendants look so busy and do not even put a smile on their faces. I have stayed there for few times and the overall experience is really bad.

Hotel Elephant Park Hotel is a fantastic place to stay The room is large and clean and very well set out It is also very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep in their awesome bed The food is very tasty and the breakfast omg pictures down below was scrumptious We had fruit, toast and omelette with tea and coffee and also watermelon juice. Then they bought out Sri Lankan breakfast for us which was rice and curry and coconut sambal which was so delicious and to top that off some lovely cake Our bellies are so full The staff are lovely and nothing is too hard for them they really look after you good A big thank you to Shalika who is so helpful to us. Your boss needs to give you more money for being so lovely and working very hard to help everyone

This hotel is the perfect place to stay to watch the elephants and other wildlife on the river. It is clean enough and the staff are really nice. The room we had was a little dated the hotel is in need of an upgrade but the views, the location and the staff make up for this 100%. We were not the only western visitors, I think this place will be very popular after Covid.

The hotel is not really clean. The facility is very old and not in the best conditions, was okay stay there because of the beautiful view you can have directly on the river where Elephants in the morning they will bath. The food was nice at the restaurant but they could improve a lot

The hotel is located facing the river where the pinnawala elephant orphanage elephants bath. The view is amazing. The hotel rooms are clean, washrooms are spacious. There were no shower cap and the biggest issue was there was no creamer in the tea supplies. Room servise was really good on first day and the staff went over board to support us. But the second day was quite dissapointing. They refused to bring food to the room saying that the place was too crowded. And they were not willing to bloet us select the dinner options as well. All meals were fixed menu and from the options the boild weggies, chips and chicken/fish and the sadwiches were good. The wattalappan was filled with saccharine taste but the fruit salad was good. There are lot of flies outside so don't keep the windows open at night. Wifi was pointless. No connection at all. Very slow. price was quite reasonable. No details about the room service, hotel facilites were available in the room. I dont know the exact reason but maybe because the price was low there was nobody to carry our luggages to the 3rd floor and there was no elevator as well. But the staff was smiling and always showed a positive attitude towards the customers. That is a plus point for the place. Pool is ok not that clean but fine. No pool side towels availabe therefor dont forget to bring your towels with you. They dont use the spare keys to cean the room when you are out so better to ask themto clean when you are gone.

I just got into this place for a lunch after elephant bathing watching .Food was ok but the money paid unreasonably high May be tourist rates as I walked in with my chineese partner .I dont know about accommodation at this property but I definitely say no lunch outs here.Take my word or get dissappointed .☺️

It’s all about the location. Absolutely fantastic location with stunning views of the elephant bathing area. Rooms were clean with a good shower and air conditioning. We didn’t have an evening meal in the hotel however a couple we spoke to stated it wasn’t great. We did have breakfast and this was poor. In summary, 100% recommended staying at the hotel for the elephant experience but don’t expect great food. When we visited, only a couple of the normal selection of restaurants had reopened post covid.

We booked 7 rooms for only one night. Overall experience was good, but there are many areas they need to improve on, such as cleanliness. Also one of our rooms did not have running water and even after complaining the management failed to solve the issue. The manger on duty ignored the complain. Restaurant location and service is excellent.

Standard 3 star hotel. Food was nice however. No safe in the room, with not very effective door locks. Only place to see elephants bathing in the river outside your balcony, which was not the case for us as it was heavy raining. If there is a local wedding/affair on it can get loud early morning through to the afternoon with drums so no lie ins or midday naps.

This was our second stop on our Honeymoon. The hotel arranged a drive to collect us from our previous hotel, which went smoothly; however, the driver seemed more interested in taking us to the usual tourist traps, which I'm sure he was rewarded for. The hotel reception area is very grand, but all that changes after being directed to a building across the road. The entrance is dingey, and the building inside and out is fairly run down. On entering the room, we were met with a strong smell of drains and cheap air freshener, dead bugs, and a generally unclean room. The evening food was fine, although the outdoor dining space was dated, to say the least. NB* Our purpose for stopping here was to visit the Elephant Sanctuary and see the Elephants in the river that the hotel overlooks. However, the driver took us to the Elephant Sanctuary on our way to the hotel, which turned out to be the opposite of a sanctuary - elephants were chained and controlled with men with bull hooks. Rides and other activities could be purchased. We left almost immediately after entering. We discovered that the Elephants were treated in a similar manner in the river below the hotel, but the chains are hidden under the water, so its not the wholesome experience that is advertised by this hotel (and others), and I wish we avoided this hotel and this location altogether to avoid funding such exploitation.

Its a lovely place to visit. Location is fantastic. Rooms are in very poor condition. Food is not good. FB basis we booked, lunch and the dinner was the same menu. Not worth for money. Staff was not professional and friendly.

I liked this place a lot. Very friendly staff, good location, comfortable room. View was super good. They upgraded my reservation for free. There were very few people in the place, I felt like I was all alone. Also manager gave me an adapter to charge a phone, and helped to plan a route to my next location

Perfect view and very helpful staff. You can see the elephant very close at morning. Important note : whenever you are go Srilanka, don’t forget the electric converter for your phone charger as they have rounded inserts which you cannot insert your phone charger directly. You can find it easily at any supermarket. Highly recommend Hotel 🏨

Locate near the elephant orphanage. The best thing is the pool. U can see the elephant bathing while chilling in the pool. Rooms are clean and affordable for the price. Foods are average.

An amazing stay, where you can see elephant bathing from your balcony or the restaurant terrace. Breakfast buffet with big variety, clean and spacious rooms, all working facilities, swimming pool.. Great value for money Special thanks to the helpful and kind reception team, Ms. Shalika 🙏

For the value of money and the location of the hotel it was very good but it needs a little bit of maintenance. The pools water was not very clean still the view from there was amazing the staff are very friendly and helpful always making sure that everything that we needed was available. Hospital also has one of the unbeatable views to the river where the elephants bathe and play

People are nice here very welcoming. The hotel is well placed just over the elephant orphanage lake waterfalls. In the morning you have the opportunity to see elephants having their bath and morning refreshing in a very natural way

Great views and for a reasonable price. We had an issue with our room as the bathroom smelled quite bad but they fixed this as soon as they could. Andrew was the highlight of our stay super helpful and kind. Really appreciated his help

Nice place to see elephants. It has a great view with the Maoya. Very friendly staff. Foods also delicious. They have set menu for dinner and buffet in breakfast. Several food items to select in buffet in both Sri lankan and western styles. Floor carpets in the room should be improved.

During our four-day stay, we were disappointed to find that there was no room service, and the hotel did not clean our room. In addition, the food provided did not meet our expectations, just a few good days and an overall unsatisfactory experience. However, we must admit that the beauty of this place is amazing.

Very good spot with an unbeatable experience. Saw some uninformed reviews suggesting animal cruelty before I booked and can confirm that is total nonsense. Nearby zoo and elephant orphanage bring their elephants here to bathe. 90% of them roam free during bathing and some of the younger males are fixed to specific points during the bath time so they don't cause trouble with the others. Nothing even remotely cruel about that, and an absolutely wonderful experience for myself and my family.

We didn’t visit the hotel, but the restaurant is a real catastrophe. I couldn’t finish any of dishes from appetizer to fruits. We’re eating fruits 3 times per day during 5 days, I don’t understand how you can fail with fruits. Very disappointed.

We absolutely LOVE this hotel! You can enjoy breathtaking views of the Elephants bathing in the Maha Oya. The rooms are large, airy and clean and waking up to the sound of the river was pure bliss. Tip: Get a river view room in the upper floors - They have a lovely view of the river and surrounding hills. It was such a relaxing holiday and I can’t wait to go back. Many thanks to Ms Shalika for assisting us in booking the rooms and making sure our stay was comfortable 😊

Dead and alive big Roaches in room and on balcony. Rooms smelly and not clean. Pool dirty and in evening not even lights and bar next to the pool closed. Hotel allows locals to annoy guests with stuff. Even during breakfast, 2 drivers came and offered "free city tour" (=souvenir tour). We were the only guests, but staff decided to stand around doing nothing, instead of cleaning or maintaining. We felt like in an abandoned house. Very bad atmosphere. They believe, that they can treat people like this because of elephant view. Never again this hotel and never again orphanage. It is a shame how this place developed, years ago it was nice. Now it is a big tourist trap network, consisting of the hotels, orphanage and drivers. Avoid this place and go to Yala instead.

An awesome experience in the midst of all the elephants..such a grand location if you are a lover of elephants and their time in water..staff was amazingly friendly and their service was beyond expectations..The rooms were well maintained and well provided..specialy the family room was so spacious and well planned.. During such a time in the country and the pandemic, the management has managed themselves so well that they are able to still provide a very good service and also a good range of food for the people who stay..A very well maintained hotel and nothing was less for us..Had a lovely vacation and a peaceful time during my stay with my family..Thank you for everyone who made our stay a enjoyable one..

The room was "old Fashion" but clean. Diner not excellent, but ok. Breakfast buffet was very nice. Only 3 elephants in the river, during the breakfast time (from 8h15 till 9h15). The piscine is nice and good location.
