Do
not
stay
here!
The
exterior
was
the
first
clue
as
to
how
bad
this
stay
would
be.
The
photo
on
Expedia
shows
a
bright,
well-kept
circle
drive
and
an
inviting
entrance.
The
reality
is
that
the
grounds
had
not
received
the
spring
cleaning
or
received
any
basic
lawn
care
for
some
time.
Still
hoping
this
would
not
be
a
total
disaster,
I
entered
the
building,
and
the
nightmare
continued.
The
lobby
consists
of
three
main
areas
a
seating
area
with
couches,
a
breakfast
counter,
and
the
registration
desk
in
the
far-right
corner.
The
entire
area
was
poorly
lit
and
had
a
musty
scent.
The
whole
room
is
reminiscent
of
a
basement
in
need
of
a
remodel.
The
logoed
carpet
was
stained
and
behind
the
Formica
countertop
was
a
tattered
quality
Inn
banner
held
in
place
by
twine.
Registration
was
quick
and
painless;
the
gentleman
behind
the
counter
was
courteous
and
well-trained.
My
room
location
was
a
short
10
yards
to
the
lobby.
I
passed
the
business
center
that
looked
more
like
a
closet
with
a
chair
and
desk
than
somewhere
you
would
want
to
conduct
any
business.
The
carpet
was
tattered
and
stained.
At
this
point,
it
was
no
surprise
that
Interring
the
room
required
a
key
swipe
and
a
shoulder
nudge.
The
room
was
small,
but
the
size
was
what
I
expected.
From
left
to
right,
the
room
consisted
of
a
combination
bathroom
sink,
coffee
maker,
countertop.
Through
the
chipped
paint,
open
partisan
was
a
brown
chair
possibly
picked
up
at
a
yard
sale
ten
years
ago,
a
television
sitting
on
a
chipped
particle
board
stand,
and
a
desk
with
a
lamp.
At
the
end
of
the
room
was
a
window
that
looked
out
onto
the
unkempt
courtyard;
an
overgrowing
bush
partially
obscured
the
view.
On
the
left
of
the
main
room
where
two
queen-sized
beds
covered
with
white
comforters
that
seemed
out
of
place
in
the
musty
room.
As
you
entered
the
room,
you
noticed
the
bathroom
on
the
left
side,
and
just
behind
the
door
was
a
closet
area
that
held
an
ironing
board
and
a
few
other
items
that
I
never
entirely
made
out
in
the
dark
room.
The
room's
floor
was
covered
in
the
same
dirty
carpet
as
the
outer
hallway.
The
bathroom
was
the
most
well-lit
area
in
the
room,
and
this
was
not
hard
to
do,
considering
that
the
light
in
the
foyer
area
didn't
work.
The
toilet
sat
in
some
sort
of
sealed
rim
covered
in
what
I
kept
telling
myself
was
rust,
and
while
seated,
the
entire
unit
rocked
from
side
to
side.
The
bathroom
shower/tub
was
clean
but
in
need
of
replacement.
It
was
late,
and
I
didn't
have
the
energy
to
change
rooms
at
that
point,
so
I
slept
on
top
of
the
comforter
and
checked
out
first
thing
in
the
morning.
In
conclusion,
this
place
should
be
avoided
unless
you
are
looking
for
a
horror
or
crime
movie
set.
