πŸ‘πŸ‘ The way the waitress's helped one another was nice to see. I could have stayed all day. They make their bread fresh a big plus. They had a person playing piano live, he was great by the way. The atmosphere and all the little knick-knacks to look at it's a must stop by if you're in the area. I'd pink... We had been here a couple years ago with some friends of ours and had a great time so we decided to bring our son and his family here while we were in town. This time was even better than last time and that is saying a lot. Marti, the owner, waited on us. She was very friendly and attentive to our grandson, bringing him a special seat, and a toy. Our food came out fast and was very good. We had veggie taco salad, beef salad and burgers. Everything was fixed to perfection. We will definitely be making the hour long trip to come back here more often. Thanks Marti for making our meal more than just something to eat. You’re awesome!!

What a blessing this place was and is to those who stop in. The owner is a wonderful woman of God who gives loads of love into the homemade food served. Not to mention the amazing kind soul that plays piano music for the customers while they eat. You won't get any better than Whistle Stop Cafe ❀️

Listen People! This place is a true hidden gem in downtown Plant City. I was simply walking by and the history and decor caught my eye and I decided I had to eat lunch here. I’m so glad I did. They specialize in soups and sandwiches (All Homemade)The bread and soup are made fresh daily. This is a family owned and operated business. And I must say that the family is just great in their service. So friendly and engaging. Martha and her son were extremely awesome and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

While visiting Plant City chose the Whistle Stop Cafe for lunch and was not disappointed. Cafe had convenient parking on the street as well as a small lot adjacent. There was not a wait on a Saturday and sat in a comfortable booth and experienced very friendly, efficient service. We tried sandwiches on their own fresh baked bread and the potato soup special. Our half sandwiches were the size of an entire one from other restaurants. The food menu is extensive and in my estimation would equate to old fashioned home cooking, fresh and tasty. Our waiter took time to explain the menu and choices and guided us to their signature food. The cakes looked fantastic although did not sample on this trip. My husband enjoyed his root beer float, the potato soup was very good and my cherry crush of seltzer and cherry syrup was a nice change. While dining there was live piano music and we even got to see a train pass as next to the tracks. The sandwich and soup combo with potato chips was $9.50 a person and. much better than any fast food. There was a play area with toys int he front of the shop as well. I would visit again and highly recommend.

This family-owned restaurant has been a community favorite for many years. Food, service and decor are reminiscent of a simpler time when Mom and Pop restaurants were the place diners went for a good quality meal. They bake their own bread for their sandwiches and have a good assortment of desserts, milkshakes and fountain drinks. Food was served fresh and cooked to order. Staff is friendly and ready to answer questions, refill drinks and assist customers as needed. One diner told us she had been bringing her family to the restaurant for more than twenty years and her children, who are now young adults, still love the place.

This restaurant is wonderful. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The owner and the staff were wonderful and very nice. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WHISTLE STOP CAFE. We have found our new favorite lunch spot. Also they have cookies as big as my hand. πŸ˜³πŸ˜‹

If you want great tasting fresh food, very friendly service, and an old Americana feeling, this is the place to go. Everything is made to order, delicious, and reasonably priced. Marty (the owner) is one of the friendliest, beautiful, and inspirational ladies is have ever meet. Her smile and positivity is contagious. This was the first time I had eaten here, and my family and I LOVED every bite of our food. We will be back many more times

My husband and I stumbled upon this cute little gem today when we planned to go get Cubans and the place we were going was only accepting cash today. The live piano music was nice, a little loud, but still nice. Cute little antiques to look at while sitting and waiting. Marti was very friendly! She took a little bit to come to us, but there seemed to be only two people working, so we completely understand! We both ordered the bacon mac and cheese burger. It was very good! The pasta seemed slightly overdone, but not a deal breaker. It came with a small bag of Lay's potato chips. It also came out fairly quickly! When we have more time, we will definitely be coming back! I also noticed when we were walking out, there was a cute little area for kids to sit and play.

A hidden gem of a diner! A live piano player entertains you, and great americana memorabilia keeps your interest. Legitimately old fashioned in every sense. Food was good and the service was great. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Some really cool finds in there. Great place for kids too.

This is a very charming cafe situated next to the railroad in downtown Plant City. Walking in, we could hear someone playing piano and the restaurant is decorated with car parts in one room and train decorations in the other. There is a good amount of seating with booths, tables, seats at the counter and a few tables outside under the covered porch. The menu is pretty expansive featuring soups and salads, deli sandwiches and burgers. They offer a signature Cuban sandwich. All of the sand which breads are baked daily. Today we ordered the Stuffed Tomato Salad with Tuna and a Bacon Cheeseburger. The Stuffed Tomato Salad was pretty large and very fresh. The Bacon Cheeseburger had a decently thick patty with crispy crispy bacon and it was very tasty. It was served with a lunch size sack of Lays potato chips. This cafe is a nice environment to sit and enjoy a casual lunch. Service is not the quickest but it is friendly. We will be back and we encourage you to visit when you are nearby.

This place is like coming home! The food is delicious but what sets this place apart is the staff and especially Marti! If you have not met her you don’t know what your missing! Genuine, warm and naturally friendly.. that’s just the beginning of trying to describe her! Jeremy is also an outstanding young man and a pleasure getting to know from the many years of doing business here. We had the Tomato Florentine, lots of flavor and served hot, and shared an Italian sub. The sun was super yummy and came with a side of marinara sauce. Definitely get a Cherry Smash to drink and if you want to feel like a big kid blow bubbles in it to stir it up!

I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is so calming and retro. You walk in to a gentleman tickling the ivory, playing piano. Trains and old licenses plates and auto parts align the wall as decor. The owners are such down the earth people always welcoming and friendly. It's a family owned establishment and they make you feel like a part of their family as well. Marti, always has a warm smile and she greets you as if she's known you your whole life. Her sister Carmen, is the cook and I haven't found a dish yet that I did not like. Their bread is baked fresh in house every day. My favorite menu selections are their All Aboard sandwich and the loaded potato soup. If you are ever in the Plant City area I advise you stop in and grab a bite. You won't regret it!

We stopped in for a quick lunch today. So many great choices on the menu, not sure what to order. Cafe had a nice lunch crowd from all ages and to see all the different menu items being ordered was great. Everything was hot and fresh, even the fresh baked cookies. Staff was very friendly and fast. Food was great, will return!

Such a quaint and lovely place. Someone playing piano as a train circles the restaurant overhead. The food is sumptuous. Definitely worth a try!

Step back in time with a Cherry Smash! Listen to a pianist while enjoying lunch in an era long since past...except for here! Ask for Marti and expect a hug!

Love coming to Whistle Stop. Marti and Jeremy have such great rapport with their customers and really want them to have a great dining experience. The food is always tasty and reasonably priced for the portions you get. Fresh baked bread for sandwiches can't be beat. All this, and an outside dining area that is pet friendly! A truly enjoyable Plant City restaurant.

Went here today for lunch with a friend. Decent selection on menu. I ended up getting the egg salad sandwich and it was great. A man came in half way thru my lunch and started playing the piano. Wonderful gem you must try! Owner gave me a hug on my way out thanking me for stopping in!

Unfortunately we went there for lunch, 3 adults, 3 children, the place was moderately busy. The waiter took our drink order then completely forgot about us. He was busy walking around, making sundaes, bussing tables. He walked right by us several times and never came to take our order. After about 20 minutes we got up and left. If I could give this place a zero I would. Don't waste your time here if you are in Plant City.

I couldn't wait to get home so I could write a review for this place! What a GEM!! This is in the heart of Plant City's historic district and it stood out immediately with the adorable decor on the exterior, so much that we decided to pop in for a bite. The interior is literally so precious and decorated with trains which makes sense since it's next to the railroad and railroad museum. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the staff immediately greets you with a smile. As an interracial couple, we worry about restaurants in places like Plant City where we sometimes don't feel welcomed, but the family who owns this place made us feel like we were right at home! Every person who walks through their door is going to get the hospitality we all love! The menu was impressive and it took us a while to narrow down what we wanted because everything looked good. The sandwich I got had freshly made rye and was delicious, and my partner's salad was eaten every last bite! We spoke with the family and discovered that all the bread and cakes were made fresh by Mama and she was just as sweet as her cakes! This was a lovely treasure we discovered today and we will definitely return with family and friends. Thanks for the hospitality and good food!!!

Great experience from start to finish!! Service was outstanding and with a smile, owner and the family on site working hard to serve fresh home made food. Will definitely be a repeat customer!! Pics are strawberry shortcake and home made potato with bacon in a fresh home made bread bowl πŸ˜‹

The ambiance and decor, the pianist, the initial service levels were very good. Service went downhill after the food was delivered. We waited for 20 minutes to order and receive and amazing desert. Overall, the food was good.
