the best part of this restaurant sadly was the wine. could there be any more almonds on the fish ? my duck plate with the over cooked penne was honestly gross. the plate itself looks very unattractive. i am very disappointed in this restaurant because i heard good things about it. living in the west island my whole life, i would never brag about this restaurant being one of the best in the west. the only reason i give 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the service we got. our waiter was great. over priced would never come back here

This place is good, and has the potential to be great. The location is great and the place is really charming. Staff and service was great and food was good. That being said, there is room for improvement when it comes to the food. The salad was missing some “pep” and the main dishes were a bit too salty. We will definitely give this place a second chance!

Average, they don’t make you feel really comfortable. Managers or whoever they are focus more on their frequent patrons instead of equally paying attention to all tables long faces everywhere - apart from our waitress, no one even greeted us at all nor asked how things were doing conversely to other tables where they were chatty and friendly — there are better places TBH

Bob sat us in the first 2 minutes we arrived without a reservation. Katelynn was absolutely gracious in the way she served our table. I almost want to suggest that she be designated to train other employees to duplicate the ways she does her work. Her smile, her genuineness and her professionalism contribute to an outstanding dining out experience. We loved this little town. I look forward to the next time we visit and stop by this outstanding dining place.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The food, wine selection, and cocktails were great. I really recommend getting the French onion soup and the gnocchis (the sauce for the gnocchis was to die for). Moreover, the staff were extremely friendly. I bought a gift certificate for my parents to enjoy a nice meal and this was definitely the best place to give them that gift certificate. In addition, you have parking right in front of the restaurant which is a big bonus. Tip: I would suggest making a reservation in advance as this restaurant is quite popular. I would also recommend booking early (5:30 pm to 6:30 pm), if possible, as you would get more time to enjoy in this beautiful charming place. Thank you Le Gourmand for the wonderful experience 😊

I've only been here a handful of times but every time I've gone, I have greatly enjoyed the experience. The ambiance is relaxed and refined, but unpretentious, while the food is *always* excellent. The staff here are incredibly easygoing and willing to make substitutions and accomodations that suit your particular dietary needs (which is highly appreciated as I have many severe food allergies). I'll have to start coming more often than once a year, I think.

We were there last night, Aug 4, 2021 for an Anniversary Dinner. Masks on when entering and once at your table they can be removed. The tables were well space the food and service were excellent. We had the beet salad as well as the crab cakes to start, delicious! Followed up with the duck and salmon, very good as well. We had a nice romantic setting on the terrace, our first resto experience since COVID. It was great to be out for dinner and happy that we chose Le Gourmand. Cheers

Amazing restaurant located in the Point Claire village close to the water. The food is great and very delicious, friendly staff and great vibe, thanks to Laetitia, Sofía and Bob. They have a nice heated Terrace and can be covered if it rains. Highly recommend.

Wonderful restaurant. Cozy country atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive. Drinks and wine were great. The food was fantastic offering unique flavor profiles that worked well together. Definitely will be going back and thanks for a wonderful evening.

Always fun to visit this restaurant in the historic building in the village :) Good food , excellent selection of wines very pleasant staff and gracious owner . When you think about good dinner it's the place to be!

I called last minute to see if we can get some appetizers and drinks by the bar. My boyfriend has never been before and had the most incredible experience. Everyone around was so friendly and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. It really is such a beautiful restaurant. The staff was professional and engaging. I highly recommend this place

Likely the best restaurant in the West Island, if you find better, please let me know. I’ve been here 4 times in three years and every time has been a great experience. I wish they had the swordfish the last 3 times I’ve gone. You won’t be disappointed, every dish is well crafted and delicious.

What a cute restaurant! Love the old stone building. They have a cozy fireplace. We made reservations and were seated immediately. Krista was our waitress. She was fun and friendly. I had to get SOUPE À L'OIGNON GRATINÉE (french onion soup) so delicious. SAUMON ET ESTURGEON FUMÉS (smoked sturgeon and salmon) salmon was good, but I didn't like the sturgeon. The flesh is tougher than I prefer... GALETTES DE CRABE (crab cake) was meh. Hubby enjoyed it, but it was crispy outside but mushy inside... DUO DE MAGRET ET CUISSE DE CANARD CONFITE (duck confit and Magret) both are amazing. Delicious! I've never had magret, so it was great to try it the 1st time, and it was delicious! The town is very cute and on the river so there were many places along the water.

Two of my colleagues and I recently had a wonderful lunch at le Gourmade restaurant in old Pointe-Claire. The restaurant is located in a historic house named Maison Demers-Portelance which was built around 1847. The restaurant is small but has a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Our server was excellent, very congenial, and almost anticipated our requests. All three of us chose lunch off the daily menu. I chose an introductory salad and for my main dish, the organic salmon which was served with baby shrimp and brie cheese. Both dishes were excellent, in fact, this salmon dish was one of the most delicious I have ever tasted. We ended with coffee and dessert. This is one of the best restaurants I have tried on Montreal’s West Island and an absolute “most visit” if you are in the area.

Located within an old stone farm house, Le Gourmand is a bit of an institution in the west island, located in the old Pointe-Claire village. This is a classic continental style restaurant with steak, fish, and the like...comfort food at its finest. The ambiance is exceptionally warm and cozy (especially on a cold wintery Montreal evening), being surround of the inviting stone, low wooden ceilings and fireplaces. We have visit several times but on this occasion we only had French Onion soup (hard to go wrong here), Salmon Tartare (always a good option) and a Caesar salad (tasty)...however there is plenty more on the menu to enjoy. Service is always been very friendly and prompt...enjoy!
