‼️‼️Would give ZERO stars if I could ‼️‼️ Arrived to check into our private room which turns out to be a separate building that they don’t have any photos off. Every photo on Hostelworld/Google are at least 3 years old (pre covid) and it looks nothing like that now. The walls are grimey and windows haven’t been cleaned in god knows how long. Beach chairs broken and worn down. Started to change our plans about going swimming as we didn’t want to have to shower during our stay here.. Bathroom Lightbulb sparked and exploded when we first turned it on (definitely not safe). When we told staff they moved us to a different room which was just as unclean. Stains on the pillows and sheets. Mould on the wall and fan. Ants in the sink. lizard on the wall. Left for dinner and came back to our room FULL of huge cockroaches, had shake off our luggage. Left immediately. There’s multiple hotels in Mirissa for similar price and MUCH better quality. DO NOT STAY HERE

‼️ FEMALE TRAVELLERS DO NOT STAY HERE ‼️ We booked a FEMALE ONLY dorm for 2 nights, myself and 2 friends. We first felt unsafe with no locks on the door and the lockers were not secure at all. On multiple occasions the staff would just walk in unannounced. On the 2nd night, we were woken at 6:50am to a male being checked into our female only dorm. When we spoke to the manager about this, he failed to show any remorse or understanding that this was a complete violation and even started to spin the whole situation onto us. Don’t stay here if you want to be safe and respected.

I stayed at Satori for a 2 day stay and then stayed for another 5. The customer service was perfect, the family meals too. All the staff members were great and helped with any issues. If you want a well priced, relaxed feel and a comfy bed with a sea view. Satori is the place. A 10/10 would recommend 👌

Great rooftop yoga with a stunning sunset view. I had the sunset yoga at 5pm and the yoga teacher and owner Felicia is super good and the yoga was amazing. They also have a restaurant with vegan food that was super delicious! Definitely coming back several times!

Amazing hostel to meet new people. At a beautiful and peaceful location where you can really do everything. The price is good and the breakfast is okay. Mirissa is an amazing place to go surfing and to explore the south of Sri Lanka!

We extended our stay three times, so we stayed 10 day in the hostel. We loved the vibes, the privat beach and the view from the room and the rooftop. You can also snorkel if you walk 20m to the right side of the privat beach. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Highly recommended!

A great place to stay! The dorms are super comfy with AC, every bed has its own power outlet and a small light. The location is great and the staff is super helpful & kind. The manager is super friendly and always there to help with transportation or to recommend good restaurants and parties. Additionally volunteers and staff keep a community vibe going and organize the satori family dinner frequently as well as other community events.

Views are excellent, Beachfront property swimming in morning, afternoon great . Beds very comfortable & Clean . Staff friendly and helpful. I stayed only 1 night because of commitments but I could easily stay 1 month plus. Luke ( Dublin, Ireland) was very helpful. I was talking to him the most because I am from Dublin also. We were planning to stay at Satori for 2 nights, but ended up extending our stay by 2 more because this place is paradise. The private beach is amazing, the dorms are clean, comfortable and have a beautiful view of the ocean. We also met wonderful people here with whom we had delicious family dinners at Satori. And the staff is so chill and helpful… 10/10.

THE STAFF STEAL MONEY and even when they’re caught on cctv (which I watched) it seems there is little done about it. In my case I was lucky, I received half of what was stolen back and didn’t have to pay to stay the 3 nights (which I pushed as they didn’t want to give me this free aswell) after speaking to the owners they told me the guy that had previously been stealing a few weeks back was fired so not sure why this is still happening :// At the time I was the only one in the female dorm which is the scariest part and I felt SO UNSAFE afterward! I wasn’t the only one who had money stolen while I was staying and I was even asked not to review as I had gotten some money back. In 9 months travelling never have i had this experience.

Very nice location at the beach, with a big common area and tasty food. The private rooms were the best, compared to all the other hostels we visited over the last 10 days. Really friendly staff.

This place is a hidden gem that just needs a little bit more time to grow to its full potential. Still a very nice (but not really used) rooftop where you can watch the sunset and avoid all the mosquitoes and flies that are at the bar area. The rooms are okay, also the beds (with curtains). Also the dorms have balconies where you could watch the sunset, but once again-> the rooftop is the place to be. I'm interested how this place will like in a year!

I had a wonderful time In satori beach hostel. Wonderful beach just in front of the hostel and a really nice sunrise from the rooms. The hostel is very chill and also there are some parties, and we made a nice campfire drinking and sharin stories.Also there are some nice places to surf nearby, to do yoga .... 🙌

Such a great hostel right on the beach with it only being 15 mins walk into town! The staff here are also amazing, going above and beyond- with great vibes of activities; yoga, family dinner, games nights and much more. It is also CLEAN and affordable 😍

one of a worst hostels I have ever stayed. I stayed there for one night in a private which they charged 12000 rupees. Next morning I woke up water ran out in the bathroom cause the pressure motor was out of running . There was no bed tea. Most hotels provide bed tea. Food was very expensive and the staff treated very bad. I never rwcommend this place .

Best family vibe hostel in mirissa. Chill beachfront property with social events and gatherings! Best sunset view and great vibes especially for solo backpackers

Booked for 2 nights and stayed for 10! Such a feel good place. The staff is super friendly and the volunteers really make the place 😄, the location is amazing, and everything feels decent. It’s a social but easy going place and if you feel like being more on yourself for a little while you can also just do that. We stayed in the private room which was super comfortable. Loved this place and the people 🥰

What a great place to stay! One of the few hostels I have seen were the real hostel community and hospitality feeling is so present, everybody is welcomed. Also exceptionally good shared rooms were you can sleep perfectly well. Big thanks to the whole staff and especially Cassandra for doing such an amazing job. All the best and hopefully see you soon

I recommend it for people who had too much party and socializing 😉 Very nice located directly at the beach. No street and traffic noise, but the sound of the ocean ❤️ Calm place and hostel. I liked it for being not so crowed, and for being not a party&drink hostel. I think that’s the quality of that hostel: you can calm down here. The dorms offer a lot of space. The staff was friendly and always turned of the music when I preferred silence or had an online meeting.

Great hostel, amazing private beach, really helpful staff (who cook great family meals), great location, nice rooms and beds with amazing views of the sea, ideal hostel to relax!

Awesome place right on the beach. Friendly staff who cooked and shared dinner with us. There is morning yoga on the rooftop.

Very bad experience. I’ve stayed in a privet room, when no power there is also no water. It’s cached me in the middle of the shower with soap. No food because the chef is out in vacation. Not worth the price at all. And also bad location all the center is 10-15 minutes walk and the main beach 2.5 km far. The only good thing that the hostel is beachfront.

Such a chill place to stay! Loved listening to the waves every morning. Big kitchen to cook your own food. I had the whole room to myself so nice and quiet. Also, awesome yoga every morning on the rooftop looking over the ocean.

This place is amazing. We just wanted to stay 2 nights and extended to 5 because we totally fell in love with the location (right at the beach, chilly water) and great activities. The dorms are very clean and the view is just amazing. From my bed I could see the whole harbour. Scooter rental next door and smoothie bowls for breakfast. What else you need!

Can't use the nice terrasse its always full of drying clothes. Staff ok. Good food. Nice view from dorm. Sea dirty in that area. There was no vibe while we were there. Lot of people just come and go. So did we. Go see yourself !

The location was good. Directly next to the beach. One of the workers was very opposed to smoking and made it very clear that she did not enjoy our company (held rag in-front of nose during our time at the outdoor cafe), though smoking was allowed.. The whole vibe was very western and not a culturally rich experience, which can be seen as positive or negative. If you want a home away from home this is the place to go, but if you want to experience sri lanka itself you might be better off somewhere else.
