Room and staff spot on but the food was terrible I don't know how they for it so wrong. If you were to look at me you know I don't leave a lot on my plate but even I was put off by the chicken burger. Dry isn't the word and no salad or sauce in the bun. then breakfast had one more surprise for me if some one can explain how you make a hashbrown soggy yet taste stale. But other than that lovely hospitality

Having a 'Christmas dinner' booked, to share with a group of friends at Blanco's, would not have been my 1st choice, but I would have missed a treat. The tables were a bit too close to each other and the access to and fromm the serving tables, didn't appear to have been entirely thought through. There was no easy way back to your seat, while carrying your filled plate. That said, the food was pretty good, however if you are not a lover of sprouts carrots and parsnips, unlucky, that's the only veg on offer, potatoes aside. It was a little surprising that peas were not part of the fayre. Let me be clear, the food was very tasty and plentiful. All the meats were cooked well, tender and no dryness. The bar prices are certainly not cheap, but the choices are many and all kept well. Every single one of the staff are excellent, all of them being pleasant, polite and efficient . The entertainment was a very professional band, who played a variety of covers whilst adding a "blue grass" feel. The highlight being the violinist demonstrating his prowess during 'the Devil went down to Georgia'. A very enjoyable afternoon and evening.

A group of work colleges were going on a night out. I decided to book a room rather than have to travel back to Swansea late at night. I booked a saver’s package which consisted of a double room, dinner in the restaurant and a complimentary bottle of wine. I arrived before check in and staff were welcoming and friendly. Staff allowed me to drop my case off so I could go off to do a spot of shopping before check in. Check in process was easy and straight forwards. The lift was broken and whilst this was not an issue for me it would have been a significant Barry for less able bodied guests or disabled guests. Room was clean and tide, but on closer inspection, noticed a few issues. I point these out only so that the hotel can address them. Moving into the en-suite it was spotless, ample amount of towels supplied as well as complementary shower gel, shampoo, shower caps and sanitary disposal bags. There was a reasonable sized bath with overhead shower. There was also a non slip bath mat provided as well. During my time in the restaurant, I observed that the staff were very attentive to diners and guests. I trust that the Hotel staff are well trained to the standard of the hotel and good at their jobs. NONE of the issues I point out had any bearing or impact on my stay. I do NOT go looking for faults, I don’t wipe my fingers over the tops of doors looking for dust. I’m just an observant person!! * Dust on lamp shade above the bed * Bedside lamp (left hand side) not working * Brownish fluid stain on wall by bed (left hand side) * Damage to plaster on wall * Dust clogged in bathroom extraction vent All issues were in Room 53 on second Floor. In summary * Exultant staff attitude * Outstanding customer service * Knowledgeable staff * Room clean to a high standard * Food well cooked and well presented I would recommend this hotel to people and I will stay here again when the need arises.

Ideal place to stay for Port Talbot. Our room was very good size. It was just a double bed when we are used to a king size. Two armchairs we appreciated and a side table. It was only a one night stay breakfast was included. Staff were professional did their job well. I would stay there again.

Visited blancos for a pink tribute evening,I have to say it was amazing. So well organised. The show came with a two course meal (carvery). I had the vegetarian option which I didn't even know was available so didn't expect it until the lovely lady serving kindly brought one to me,it was so tasty and well presented and the dessert 👌 The staff were all lovely and provided great service ☺️ look forward to next time.

Good value for money. My room was clean and spacious. Friendly and always helpful team from reception to bar and restaurant. Perfectly adequate menu and my meal was well cooked and all courses well presented. I would stay at Blanco's again and would recommend.

Free parking, bar on site and comfortable beds, great service and reasonably priced. On a negative side, it can get noisy (and even rough at times) if there’s a wedding (which has been the case during both of my stays), food orders for dinner need to be done before 5pm (there are alternatives on the sea front and town centre) and rooms need updating, especially the shower. TV did not work probably due to remote

The carvery was great and plate hot, including lovely dessert. The drinks extremely expensive and the wine undrinkable. We did have a good time with friends. Singer had a good voice as well .

Had my Father's wake here after his funeral. Although a sad occasion Blanco's put on an excellent buffet and also put a decent selection of vegan food for my daughter. Bar prices reasonable and staff friendly and pleasant

Hotel location is good and breakfast had a variety of options. The rooms are quiet except if you have a room near a fire exit door it rattles whenever someone walks past. The rooms could have been cleaner given what they charge and the room service was too early with cleaners walking into our room at 9am... No 'do not disturb' sign was provided and we thought the service and breakfast were too early given that checkout time is at 11am and check in is at 3pm.

Birthday party for a friend. 50 attendees. Buffet was excellent. Staff were very helpful. Venue perfect for the occasion. Many thanks for giving us a great time.

Went for food, it was delicious. There's friendly staff and the interior is lovely. Perfect restaurant for nice food.

The rooms were spacious but it was quite loud and around 4am some strange noises could be heard from the turned off AC so I didn't get a good night sleep. I would recommend the restaurant either - the burger was subpar same as the breakfast. On the plus side there was a free car park and the staff was friendly.

Took my severely disabled son for dinner with all the family on Christmas Eve. He has to use a stretcher and a breathing machine so it’s very difficult to take him out. The staff were amazing and did everything they could to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. He really enjoyed. Thank you Blancos

Very good value for money as breakfast included which was a good choice as well. We were late for breakfast one day (as it finishes at 9 on weekdays) but the staff were quick to find us some food from the kitchen and were only too helpful to accommodate us. Full marks to all the staff at Blanco's who were very friendly and we would definitely recommend and go back again.

Great staff, great service, rooms are OK, bar is good. Be careful to check if there's an event on; there were two the last night I was there and it was really loud in the bar and restaurant. On the other hand the rooms were still quiet! Free, monitored parking. Good food.

We attended a wedding on sept 7th and also booked to stay over. Firstly the food in the day was absolutely brilliant! Hot, tasty and plenty of it! Buffet in the evening was just as good! We stayed in Room 46, credit where its due, the room was huge! Very well appointed, clean and had amazing air conditioning! (One of the hottest days of the year so slept lovely and cool) Drinks prices were reasonable considering its more of a function venue, and also had a good selection available. Staff throughout the day and night worked exceptionally hard to ensure everyone was taken care of, and it was done with happy smiling faces, care and great attention to detail. Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming on check in. Such a difference and massive improvement from when we had our own wedding there in 2009 and1 or possibly 2 of the staff were so miserable and unhelpful to the point of being almost hostile!! Venue itself was clean, bright, well presented, and as the wedding room was air conditioned, that too was a godsend! Would now 100% recommend to anyone!

Stayed there for a family reunion, everyone is lovely. Rooms are what you expect and offers what you need, cleaning staff do a good job of cleanliness. Rooms need a bit of deco upgrade.

Sad occasion as was for a wake, but lovely hotel. Staff were great. Friendly and helpful. Buffet was excellent. Loads of free parking. Great location for exploring that area of Wales too.

Had a lovely evening but then breakfast was a let down. Toasters were ancient and took forever. Bacon cold. Had to ask for a fried egg which by the time you had it the rest was cold. And one member of staff very rude and heard her talking about other customers to other member of staff. so un professional.

I attended Blancos last night for a Christmas Party with Carvery. My friend was staying the night, so we initially gathered in her room, which was very nice and had all the expected amenities. It was well decorated, modern and very comfortable. The Carvery meal was very nice, hot, plenty of food and cooked well. The only think i feel would have made it better would have been Peas. Due to many people disliking the traditional sprouts, it would have been nice to have peas as another vegetable option. The entertainment was very good, along with the very helpful staff. We all had a great night and will attend other functions in the future.

I was recently at Blanco's for a family post funeral function. I cannot therefore comment on the rooms. The function area ws very clean and tidy, the food served, a buffet, was of a good standard. The staff were attentive and polite. The bar staff were very good and efficient with waiting times to be served very short. All in all a great place. Also very close to the M4.

The room that I stayed in at Blancos was comfortable for the one night that we were there. However the room wasn't as clean as I would expect for a 3 star hotel and some of the fixtures in our room were rusty. There were cobwebs on the ceiling and mucky hand marks on the wall and the bath tub looked like it hadn't been cleaned. However the staff at Blancos go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable they even moved a spider for me. The restaurant is beautifully laid out but I was shocked at the prices given its location. Overall a pleasant stay at a great price.

Reviewing the food as I didn’t stay. Party of 6 including 1 child. My sirloin steak was barely edible, chewy and pretty tasteless and at £18.50 I was expecting something more. The steak knife was cheap and not at all sharp, and the general feel and quality of everything was sub par. The drinks; soda and black, a Pepsi and lemonade off tap were flat. Kids menu was basic, but was ok. Fish dishes were passable, but uninspiring, curry was ok. Staff, a total of 6 different ones through the course of the meal, were pleasant and helpful, all young kids on their first job mostly. Definitely won’t be having food there again.

Regularly go there for lunch. Food is good esp the roasts with a good selection of veg and all the trimmings. Decent size portions too. Nice atmosphere and pleasant service. Ideal for lunch if in the area in fact probably the best in central Port Talbot. Reasonably priced.

Stayed here before and had a great stay. This time was something else. Doors getting damaged and kicked in at 1am fire alarms going off where people were smoking in rooms. I asked for an ironing board and it was the most disgusting thing I had ever seen. I put a t shirt or the radiator to warm up took it off and it was filthy dirty. Tried to contact the hotel via email they tried to call me twice but each time I emailed explaining I could not talk so instead of emailing me they just left it. I’ve only given the two stars for the front of house staff who were absolutely lovely. Apart from that an awful stay. Oh and at early hours of the morning a knock on the door and a drunk person asked if they could come in for a party!!!!

Went out for a meal with 5 others, was disappointed at the size of the meals for the price of the food. They could do better, if I am going to pay over the odds for a meal then I want t plenty of it. The cost for 1 soda water and Lime and 1 pint of Stella came to £5.95p, so if it was £4.50 for the pint then £1.45p, that is ridiculous as it is only 1 dash of lime, the soda is on pump. Very disappointed and won't be frequenting Blancos again.

Went to blanco yesterday and I have to give my honest review Had a beef dinner and it wasn’t the best! The vegetables were rock hard parsnips and carrots And very lumpy gravy The staff are very pleasant and can’t do enough for you But the food was very poor 😌

Good Sunday Lunch 2 courses for £15 with a dessert. Nice place and staff. Sat down at 3.30 not a long wait and a cracking band come on about 4.30. Shame I was driving a good afternoon was likely to be had us a good crowd there.

Well-recommended. I have been twice this year on a Saturday evening for family birthdays. Food is generally excellent and competitively priced - sirloin steak cooked exactly as required on both occasions and was delicious, for example. Service - via an increasingly young workforce - is pleasant and timely. We gave caught the entertainment on both occasions, too - with a male and then a female singer. They were good enough to get me up to dance! Not overly busy on either occasion, so was a little surprised at that. Cannot comment on rooms as live locally and didn't stay overnight. We'll worth a visit and they also do tribute nights.

We had a birthday meal here, the food was fine, but the service was a little off, as hot soup was passed over a baby in a high chair, the food list got lost. Some of the meals were wrong. And we had to ask a few times for service to order deserts and drinks. In all fairness the waitresses were young, but a little more training would have helped.

I've stayed here a couple of times for work. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are decent for the price. Working air con is always a blessing! Much better value than some budget hotels in the area.

Went here for food and the food was great and thoroughly enjoyed. The portion size was great and the food was very nice. The service was great and staff were friendly and helpful. Went on Sunday so had Sunday roast and was not disappointed. Would come again.

Pleasant stay at Blanco's. Good value, and was located well for where I was visiting. There was an issue with the A/C unit making a really loud noise, even after it had been turned off which, fortunately being a deep sleeper didn't keep me up so stayed in the room (after arriving late in the evening following a 6hr drive I was straight to sleep anyway. I reported this in the morning so hopefully will be resolved before the next guess stays. Breakfast options were limited, and could be massively improved on. The staff were all friendly and helpful. One in particular, a gentleman who was on in the morning of 09/09/22 was really friendly and deserves a special mention. I will certainly stay here again next time I'm in Port Talbot

My husband and I went here one Saturday evening for an evening meal. We were shown to our table and given a very sparse menu. We asked if that was the only menu and was told that she would get the 'Specials Menu'. We both chose from the 'Specials Menu'. My husband had battered Hake and I chose the Braised Lamb Chops. When our food arrived, it looked very disappointing - I had 3 of the tiniest Lamb Chops I've ever seen covered with a gravy. There were no vegetables included except for boiled potatoes which I chose, and chips for my husband. Meanwhile, all we could hear throughout our visit was a female voice screaming from the kitchen. She was obviously having a very bad day and didn't care who heard about it. At one point she came out of the kitchen and began complaining very loudly to the bar staff !! We won't be visiting here again as there are much better restaurants in and around Port Talbot to spend our money in.

Went on a business trip and not impressed. On entering the room there was a pile of pillows and sheets on the end of the bed with an apology note saying any missing laundry would be replaced as soon as possible. The note was on top of an absolutely disgusting pillow. See pic. Items still missing at 10.30pm, beds not overly comfy either. Went down for breakfast and waited a while next to the sign please wait to be served, in the end just helped ourselves. Wouldnt stay again.

Met friends for an evening meal. Didn't stay overnight. Food was too cold sent back 3 meals. Came back lovely and warm but tasted awful. 2 meals not eaten. Would not go again

Good car parking. Pleasant staff. Very limited choice of white wine (2). Had run out of some of the items on the lunch menu by 13.20. No longer any real ale sold here. Ample space to sit and chat with friends following a lunch. We were here to watch the evening show (Tom Jones tribute act) which was very good indeed, and all those present seemed to feel the same as the dance area was full most of the time. Evening meal served prior to the show was excellent. Our room was clean but some aspects in serious need of some TLC e.g. the heating, curtains, pillows. And the bathroom would really benefit from some hooks to hang towels. Tea, coffee facilities and hair dryer in the room. Breakfast was fine. All in all an enjoyable stay.
