I love this place. Brilliant food and excellent and friendly service. Only problem is the food takes time to cook but that's not a problem as it tastes great. Have recommended it to close friends and family and they love it as much as I do. If u love Chinese food, then this is your place, enjoy the food, I know I will again.

The guy taking orders sent me a large egg fried rice.i ordered large chicken fried rice .when I called the man was very rude and would not except that he had made a mistake .he insisted that I paid an extra 4euro even though he made the mistake .I order from here all the time and so does my family for many years .we will not be ordering again as the man was very rude on the phone.also food was luke warm .very bad experience would give it a miss tbh

Best Chinese take out in monasterevin - port side. Food is authentic, value for money with generous portions and location is quite central. Great options for vegetarians.

Good food at The Good Year Chinese. Up to now we had always ate takeaway at apachi pizza ( the Chinese beside Aldi) which in the last year or two had changed name, however even this take away seems to have closed down ( wasn't open on Thursday 1stdec '22) . So it's The Good Year from here on in...

Delicious food and great service. I made a mistake on one of my orders and they rectified it and didn’t even want to take the extra for it. They’re great and my new favourite Chinese in town

Bad manners in the phone.but food is nice

I couldn't tell the difference between both of the dishes we ordered and they tasted nothing like they should have. Standard white gravy, but hugely under seasoned. The "very spicy dish" was as spicy as mashed potato. The noodles tasted of oil and nothing else. Managed to fix them at home with a bit of msg. Let me know if you need me to send you some, along with some satay...for the satay sauce

Please don't order from here, food took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive, specific instructions left on the chefs note online were not adhered to or looked at. Food was awful and greasy, dishes did not taste or look like dishes ordered (Chicken Schezuan ordered and Sweet and Sour chicken was delivered). Online ordering platform does not give any detail on any dish, prawn toast ordered came drowned in honey sauce but the addition of honey sauce was never mentioned. 4 in 1 came with boiled chicken, no option to order anything else nor was is mentioned what chicken comes with the 4 in 1, requested chicken balls in the chefs notes but this was ignored and boiled chicken was recieved. Food was also barely warm but after waiting nearly an hour and a half for food we had to make do. Will never order from here again.
