Had fantastic nights out in this pub. The staff were more than willing to help and the atmosphere and music was fantastic. Really cosy inside and great to watch the football there as well. Would highly recommend to anyone who visits Portarlington.

My friend brought me here for lunch and it was yum, very tasty, very reasonably priced, great lunch menu with a good variety of foods, I had the philly steak sandwich which was so delicious, very friendly staff, indoor and outdoor dining, was really lovely. We also came to The Anvil for my first live music event since before the lockdown on the Sunday of the October Bank Holiday weekend and the place was hopping. The band were amazing and played outdoors to a massive crowd. There were lots of staff on duty and there were 4 bars open, so no queueing for an hour or more like I've heard of other places. There was also table service. Even at the end of the night the toilets still had toilet roll, I'm glad they understand how important these little things are! A wonderful venue, worth a visit.

Had food which was reasonably priced. Half portion friend had looked like a full portion. Watched racing and fine crowd all evening and good atmosphere helped by the band playing. Paddy power across the road if u want to loose money 😂

Stopped here late one Friday afternoon on the way to Wexford, driving across Leinster. Very happy we did. Good food and a good price, busier than expected, given the time we popped in and the footfall outside. Service was friendly and attentive. Lots of tea too. Will visit again when I'm next in Town.

The Anvil is a great place for a bite to eat, or a few pints with friends, or to host a big event like birthdays, christenings or confirmations. A great outside area and a very comfortable and spacious inside. The pints are great and the staff are friendly. Will be visiting more often in future.

Super place for lunch. Have been a few times and always excellent, great service and friendly staff.

Food is great value and the staff are lovely. Plenty of seating inside and out.

A lovely clean pub , however we felt the atmosphere was lacking. Lots of empty space and I’m sure when there is a crowd it possibly is good fun! We enjoyed our food and drinks here. Staff were also friendly!

Love the Anvil ,great place for lunch they only serve until 3 or 4pm but omg the food v good ,ive had the roadt turkey and ham ,steak sandwich ,club sandwich , and very good value for money generous portions , they have different specials daily .friendly staff
