Stylish café and coffee shop, delivering excellent speciality coffee with top barista skills. My favorite place in Bordeaux to fix my caffeine cravings. A nice choice of sweet treats, cakes, etc. to accompany your cappuccino or flat white.

Google Maps is trying their best to squash my review of this place? It’s a VERY cool coffee shop — the coffee is great, service is great, sometimes there’s a bit of a wait but it’s located in a shaded corner and there’s plenty of space to stand around…

Top coffee shop in Bordeaux ... No one beats their coffee, their prices, and service. The current beans from Brazil make a delicious shot of espresso

I enjoyed the easygoing, modern and minimalist atmosphere of the cafè. The coffee is really good and the croissant is a delicious addition. (No wifi though which is somewhat pity…). It is a great option for a sit and relax, good quality coffee break.

Great atmosphere! Lovey coffee. Bought a beautiful mug from their collection. Right next next to a chocolatier 😃

Awful experience with cappuccino and stale limp croissant and cookie. It was like eating soggy white flour pastry, gross 🤮 Bad service didn’t help either! Nice little spot though if you don’t mind spending. One star for expresso which was nothing special. Wondering if other reviews are even real? I must be spoiled with good coffee to write this review ✍️

Probably the best cappuccino I’ve ever had. I am so in love with this shop- LOVE the name, wonderful staff, quaint location. Such good memories.

Specialty coffee roaster and cafe, L’Alchemist is based in Bordeaux and worth a visit when in this city. We enjoyed an Aeropress and a macchiato. The Aeropress beans were exceptional but the macchiato was weaker than what I am use to. We also enjoyed a choc nut cookie that was delicious!

We waited for almost 40 minutes for two takeaway coffees. The staff was not really welcoming. We went inside to place our order, and a girl immediately asked us to wait outside without even checking if we had already ordered. The lady eventually took our order and we paid. However, she forgot to inform the barista. They kept looking at us as we stood outside, but nobody even asked if we were okay. I lost my patience and asked where the coffee was. The lady has no idea and the barista. Finally, our coffees arrived, one without a lid and one has with the same order. Being a coffee lover I would say the taste is normal and not the best in the city.

Thé place is a gem! However…! 1) the “manager” and staff aren’t as welcoming as one could expect. 2) coffee shop is empty and won’t let you work on your electronics! ! 3) coffee not so good (bitter and burn) 4) pastries! Need better quality! Overall not a great experience… better places in town like Clement or Peter’s! Def not coming back

Oh lala that was something. Coffee lovers here we go! Great filtered coffee, kind staff and good vibes on lovely place. We had batch and coldbrew on ice. Bought coffee beans for home and we rate it 11 of 10!

This is the best coffee I’ve had in France, and the people are the nicest! Their batch brew is very good. One of the baristas we met was so kind and helpful to us non-French speakers, and so knowledgeable about coffee. We returned more than once, and one day he helped us shelter from the storm with our luggage. :)

We stopped here for a quick (and tasty) coffee while visiting Bordeaux. The place has a nice vibe and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had our dog with us and they were very nice about it. I would recommend it!

We came 15 minutes before the closing time and were refused to get coffee. And we saw that they started to clean the equipment only 10 minutes after we left. P.S. Next day we came for coffee. Good and friendly service, but the extraction of the espresso must be adjusted, it’s under extracted. Milk froth too thin for flat white and temperature a bit over.

Best specialty coffee shop in Bordeaux. Really cute ceramic cups are sold there too. We spend our yearly summer holiday in the region, and we always order our coffee beans from this shop for our stay.

I only spent a few hours in Bordeaux and it was worth it to spend half of my time here ;) they have such good coffee (they also have their own roastery) & preparing every single one with dedication and love. And you’ll feel right away that this is a place where they’re really taking care of their customers and they want you to have a good time. Can definitely recommend! Thanks so much for your work!

There are a few tables outside and inside and if we had a bit more time we would have stayed - it's not a small / rushed coffee bar like some indepent coffee shops, you could absolutely pass away some time reading a book here with no issue. The coffee is as good as you'd expect in that it is very good.

The service was exceptional for the city, it was the only time the people smiled and were completely ok with speaking in English. The coffee is really good, above average and the pastries are also well made. It’s a shame the place is so small, only 4 tables, because I would gladly spend some time there relaxing.

Mixed feelings about this place. The coffee is good but a bit overpriced (4€). And the staff is very slow.

Easily the best coffee I have ever had. Coffee is made with meticulous precision. The cups give you a Japanese vibe. This coffee needs your attention to really enjoy. The downsides are that it has very limited space to sit inside(large outdoor seating) and of course No WIFi. Also they do speak good English .

Great cappuccino, not italian but not worse. Desserts are delicious. We had chocolate muffin/cake and hazelnut muffin. They were awesome👍🏼

One of my favorites in Bordeaux, even if possibly slightly pricier than the average. The quality of coffee outranks most others. Great service. Always happy to stop by here.

Plain and simple: EXCELLENCE. They honour their name by being one of the best coffee roasters I’ve tried... but it doesn’t stop there: every detail is carefully addressed so that you can have a GREAT cup of coffee. Elegant, cozy, professional, thoughtful... it’s just 5 stars and one of my worldwide coffee shops favourite.

Bonjour! I have been to L’Alchimiste three times during my stay in Bordeaux, most recently this past Monday and Tuesday. Monday I had the best chocolate chaude I’ve ever had, it was so creamy and they use the best chocolate, really high quality, some of which settles, nicely melted and fun to scoop up with a spoon at the end, which you try to prolong. The perfect warm drink for a cool, fall day! And the cappuccino, well, what can I say! Smooth and creamy! And both drinks most artfully presented with a frothy heart on top! And the lovely people! Going out of their way to take care of anyone who enters! Just a delight! The whole coffee shop is so very tasteful in its surroundings and the great energy there makes it a perfect stop, morning or afternoon, for that perfect warm beverage to delight!

Delicious coffee, beautiful location, wonderful waiters, great service, good price, overall a lovely experience. There are many varieties of coffee beans of absolute quality for purchasing as well as a wide range of drinks to drink at this amazing cafe. The waiters are the sweetest. They are polite and helpful which I think will make your day as much as it made mine. I only wish that I could stay in Bordeaux, so that I could go there again and again…
