One of the many viewing spots around Portland. This one with a clear view of the bay and harbours. On each of our visits here there has been shipping activity to give something extra to stir the curiosity and random conversation starters. We are told the museum adjacent is interesting to visit but it has never been open on any occasion we have passed.

Well, when we were there it was a bit more choppy than that picture and a local pointed out a whale to us, giving us all the basic info to come again and see them much closer on a boat trip next time

Sensational....a credit to all that put it together with such passion. A absolute must in Portland. Yes the view is amazing but so is the rest.

👍👍 Awesome 48hr free stop, well done Portland, public toilets look very new and were open 24hrs. Dump point was clean and the camping area was spacious. Not too far from the road but very little traffic noise. Cute little tram museum next door with daily tram rides. Self contained vehicles only

The water was nice and clear. No entrance fees. So many lovely photo opportunities. I never had an issue finding it i...

😠 Just left the Portland tourist park. We were not told by the manager Anne upon booking that there was current excavation and road works taking place. It was a mud bath. The manager Anne has zero customer service skills and was extremely rude to say the least . I would definitely not recommend a stay...

👍 Hidden place in Portland. Public viewing area is a bit far away from the birds. A binocular recommended. Better to check at Portland Visitor information Centre and find out when/what time they are running a free volunteer tours.
