Update 7/15: I finally tried this restaurant today. The seating is spacious and bright with natural light. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food is mainly sharing dishes with small and medium sizes and the waiter will explain to you at the beginning. All the dishes I ordered were quite good and had their own unique flavors. It's a good restaurant to share with friends and family, but I don't know if I'll return in the future. Also after my first experience. So this time, I confirmed my reservation with The fork 3 days before and the same problem happened again, but I was able to change the reservation time because I found out in advance. In the end I paid more than 50 EUR without any discounts which I wouldn't say it is really cheap, I think maybe the owner should have a bit details since last time they didn't receive us when we had 30% discount. This is just my opinion, of course the owner can decide how they want to run the business. --------------------------------- We came to have lunch here today, May 25, at 12:00 PM. I made the reservation long time ago (20th of April) and they sent me a reconfirmation email before our arrival. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed. No one called or send an email to warn us in advance. Then I checked their Google Maps prodile and could see that they had updated their opening schedule the previous week. I think this is really rude and irresponsible, it really ruined the experience when you visit Porto. When we planned our trip well in advance to have wonderful experience, but this restaurant ruined it. Btw the owner called to apologize at 13:15 which is the basic thing they can do now after all the mess. So I will give them 2 Star instead of 1 Star because of this reason.

My friend and I didn't book any tables on our last night in Porto, as we wanted to find something more impromptu. Well I guess the luck was definitely on our side as we came across Patio 44! From the first glance of the menu (you can see it outside) to a quick look of the interior / overall atmosphere vibe, we crossed our fingers and toes and asked one of the team members if they have any availability... A few minutes later, chef introduced himself to us and explained the concept of the menu as well as shared some recommendations based on our food preferences (I am vegetarian and my fried in pescatarian). As soon as food started to arrive I simply didn't want any food to end as it was just sensational (Mil folhas de batata / Potato mil feuilles, bell pepper sauce and chives - is the MUST to try) Thank you to the whole team and especially to the chef for making our last evening so very special and delicious. Everything were just perfect (from interior, to food presentation, staff friendliness and even the lighting in the room). If you are in Porto, don't even think it twice - book it!

Spectacular tapas with a Portuguese flair. Local chef brings contemporary interpretation to traditional fare with excellent results. Highly recommended.

Wonderful tasting menu and wine pairing in an intimate, low-key setting. Every dish brought an element of surprise and delight all the better because the chef and owner served many of the courses himself and answered all my dorky questions:) Loved the focus around zero waste where even parts of ingredients most restaurants might discard are creatively and expertly repurposed and used with amazing results. Patio has only been open a little more than a month. If you're looking for an alternative to traditional Portuguese food in Porto and want a modern, innovative spin on seafood, book this place before they become too popular (because they will)!

We are so happy to have found this restaurant - it was our best meal in Porto for sure and needs a Michelin star! The service was brilliant from start to finish. The food was also amazing. A lot of the dishes we tried had unusual flavour combinations that just worked so well together. Lots of vegetarian options as well. The pumpkin dish was a knockout and an absolute must-try. The goats cheese dessert was also delicious and we scraped the baking paper clean - apparently that is quite common 😂 The prices of the dishes were surprisingly cheap for the quality, making this meal even more special. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Porto!

Outstanding food at a reasonable price. We booked through The Fork for our first dinner in Porto and it did not disappoint. The servers were friendly and professional, and each dish came with a small explanation. Dishes are of small to medium size and can be easily shared. The quality of the food was very high, with the flavours of each dish perfectly balanced. Dishes were also prepared and presented beautifully. The stand-out dishes of the evening was the duck takoyaki and the Pão de Ló, both a must try. Michelin- take note of this place.

A small, pretty room. Excellent service. Delicious food! -- don't miss the vegetable tempura, the potato mille feuille, the pork cheeks and the sea bass, the last three in wonderful sauces. The wine list is modest, but the price to quality ratio is is off the charts! Great value!

Best place in Porto! We tasted seven different dishes and each one of them made us moan! Wine was one of the most delicious we’ve ever tasted. Our waiter, Gonzalo is kindest and funniest person who helped us in choosing dishes and drinks. There are delicious vegetarian/vegan options. We cannot wait to visit this place again.

OUTSTANDING! The service was impeccable. The food was so so delicious, small and medium plates so you can try many things. Everything we ate and drank was amazing. The desserts were so good - the goats cheese icecream was incredible and a must try!

Randomly chose this restaurant for dinner with friends, and it truly was the best decision I've made so far in Porto. Tried about 6 meals, and everything was overwhelmingly delicious, especially pork, the best one I've ever had (if you visit, try broccoli as well, you will not regret). The service is wonderful, Gonsalo literally made our night- so friendly, welcoming (and a great sense of humor). Highly recommend to anyone looking for an elegant and tasty evening in Porto.

Fantastic experience, the best food I can remember having anywhere. Consistently excellent throughout the meal and personal experience with the head chef involved with service. Must try place - book a table if you're in Porto! We didn't book but they were able to seat us as we arrived earlier than most and plenty were turned away. They explained the menu, concept and helped with recommendations. The Bimis (tempura brocolini and sriracha mayonnaise) was fresh, salty and a perfect first plate. The "Wellington" de Morcela (blood sausage, scallion and pork jus) was rich, hearty and perfectly balanced with roasted baby onions and pickled mustard seeds. We then had the Sarda Escabechada (mackerel, beetroot and ajo Blanco) which was delicious; a silky white wine sauce with a subtle garlic undertone, tasty beetroot and fresh mackerel with a pickle flavor to cut right through. To end the mains there was the Bochecha (pork cheek and potato and leek cream), which was frankly perfect. Everything you want in a cheek dish. To end we had to have what the chef described as the best thing he's ever made: Pão-de-ló (a simple cake-type dish with goats cheese ice cream). It was the perfect end to the meal: sweet, soft base that was like thin, freshly cooked blondie with a goats cheese ice cream, olive oil and sea salt. We drank the white wine by the glass, and the bill was very, very reasonable. There is no way I could have made the experience better. The team are really proud of what they are doing (rightly so), change the menu every two months, and are expanding the restaurant into a patio area at the back soon. I would definitely go back whenever I come to Porto and would recommend it to anyone.

What a place, really! Don’t let the appearance fool you! I was very hesitant about going there but I was so wrong. We were on a 10 day trip around France, Portugal and Spain and we had the dinner meal in this restaurant. Everything was soooo delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough. The prices are also quite good. Not to mention the service….the best waiter ever! The guy with the curly hair was so funny and welcoming, making us feel at home. If I ever come back to Porto it will be to this restaurant. I will always keep the memory from there. Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience !! 🥰

Our reservation was for 730 and we were so excited that we jumped through the door as soon as they turned the lights on at 7. Exceptionally friendly staff immediately sat us and soon the feast began. I think we tried the entire menu and loved everything. Beautifully decorated space with comfortable seating and nice perfectly dimmed lighting. Don’t skip dessert! We can’t wait to go back to this absolute gem.
