We stayed in mid July 2020 and would highly recommend this place. It is located just a few minutes walk from the river as well as being only a few minutes walk from the main shopping/restaurant/nightlife areas. The room itself is spacious and comfortable although watch out for the step at the base of the bed as we tripped over it a few times! There is a nice balcony with a great view of the city and a table/chairs so it's an ideal spot to enjoy breakfast. The owner is extremely responsive and helpful - always quickly addressing our questions and providing a lot of advice for us to make sure we enjoy our stay. The bed sheets/cover were super soft and comfortable. So much so that we asked where they were from and went to purchase a set to take home for ourselves. Was also great to see that they were from a local place. Due to covid19 restrictions, the breakfast is available directly on the room - our fridge was stocked up with cheeses/meats/yoghurts/juice/milk etc. And there was also bread/nuts/fruits/croissants and other snacks available.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Well-located in the centre. Off the main street so it’s quiet. The bathroom was a bit tiny but we made do. Very warm staff. There’s even some port and egg tarts available in the kitchen everyday. WiFi was quite good.

Boutique hotel in Riveria area of Porto. Hotel provides a small kitchen area that you can share with others. Good for a quick breakfast or snacks. Rooms are OK for a few day stay in Porto.

The place is great! Close to everything you will want to see and do. I think ours was the smallest room but was more than enough space for one couple. Port wine and Portugese custard tarts on check in was a brilliant welcoming. Staff are very helpful and offer so much knowledge, a lot more personal service than a hotel.

This was a great stay. Bed and room was great, natas and port available every day, very central and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Spent a few nights here in November. We felt welcome from the start, and the small hotel is quite a pearl, as it stands renovated between the other small houses in Porto's inner city. Although there was no room for an elevator in the building, the rooms offer enough space, including a small bathroom. The common area on the ground floor feels cosy, and if you have booked breakfast, buckle in for a nice surprise.

Where do I start, awesome accommodation, great location, the most wonderful staff and the best city. I wish I had a whole week at least but my stay here was most wonderful. Thank you Maria Historic House and Porto.

Very friendly staff. Good spacing in the room, all utilities one needs in a room, clean bathroom, comfortable beds. Great view from the top floors. Central location. The only minus are the shady people housed in the immediate neighborhood of the place.

The staff are amazing. They arranged our transfer from the airport to the accommodation and were there waiting with port and baked goods. We were met with a smile and a warm welcome. The host provide us with a map and a list of places to eat, see, shop and suggestions for tours. She was lovely, accommodating and helpful. The room was immaculate, it was clean and fresh. The most spectacular thing about the room was the view. The view was breathtakingly beautiful and when the blind was closed it was substituted by the local art on the walls. The host was helpful throughout our stay and booked our transfer when we unfortunately had to leave the beauitful Porto. I wish we could of stayed longer and cannot wait to go back.

Just left this gem of a hotel in the most amazingly central part of Porto. The bed and the sheets were top shelf. The common space made this feel like home. Well done and highly recommend. Robert July 2018
