When I arrived I was charged a higher amount than what was told to me through the booking site this was fine I proceeded to go on but then was told I also wouldn’t be able to use my military discount and they said that I should have done that threw the booking site (I’ve stayed at The Courtyard in Ohio and any other hotel allowed me to show my military ID and applied the discount when I arrived) , but I shook that off as well. Anytime I stay at hotels I record the room before and after when I checked out I was charged the correct amount, somehow the next day they processed an extra 100 dollars I was confused because I left everything neat and as it was, I called to ask why I was charged the extra amount and was told it was because of a lamp being broken and shedded into pieces and was given attitude when I asked for them to provide proof (which they could not provide) I disputed the charge and won due to there actually being no broken lamp and me providing proof to my bank and the hotel could not show that there was a broken lamp neither. Customer service here was horrible and inexperienced.

You can see from the photos that there was a grimy ring around the sink and the drawer fell apart when I opened it. Service was very friendly and our breakfast at the bistro was good, and the hotel was quiet, so that's nice. Room smells mildewy. I'm wondering if all the Marriott hotels in this area are ready for an update because this was the second try for us (previous was a Fairfield inn in this area, and it had ants). Bottom line: I wouldn't stay here again.

I’ve stayed at this location a couple times and it’s a great hotel. There is a bistro and bar in the lobby. The bar tender is very nice and staff is pretty decent. Location is very good with lots of options close by to either shop or eat at. It’s fairly easy to get to which is just off I-95. The Potomac Mills mall is a half mile down the street and provides a lot of food options and movies if you need some entertainment

Not impressed at all. Beds were uncomfortable. The bathroom's had mold around the tub and the bottom of the walls. Refrigerator did not work. The remote control for the TV was very delayed in responding. And then they want you to spend $10 for a simple blueberry muffin that you could pick up at Walmart for 2 bucks. Cup of coffee was like $8 not worth it to me.

Rooms are nice, beds comfortable, staff is ok. HOWEVER!!!! They charge you $10 to park on their property!!!! There is no pool even though their pictures show a pool. They charge for breakfast... I've stayed at less expensive hotels and got more for my money 💰!!!!

Highly recommend. Clean, quiet, friendly staff. On-site bistro. Loved the love seat and rolling shower door...lol. Nice fire pit seating area in the courtyard and other expected Marriott amenities. Conveniently located off Prince Wm Pkwy, very close to 95 on/off ramp. Plenty of shopping (Potomac Mills Outlet, Wegman's, Kohl's, Walmart...) and surrounded by eateries, fast food and restaurants.

Sadly, we did not have a long visit but while there the rooms were extremely comfortable and offered ample space for our entire family. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The lobby offered wonderful choices to eat and to hang-out. I will definitely be back

Very noisy due to proximity to highway. Bathrooms need maintenance. Promised free shuttle service to our wedding and shuttle did not show up. Had 40 guests in lobby waiting for bar service which was extremely slow and overwhelmed on a Saturday night. Food was ok. Hotel clerks were nice. The lobby/sitting area was nice and conducive to a group get together after the wedding. We are not very happy about the way some things went down.

The location, the property, are all first rate. The breakfast was fantastic, we loved the amenities. That is the upside, the downside was the staff. We asked that our room be cleaned on the second day of a three day stay, it wasn’t. We tried to pay for snacks and the basically gave them away. They are great with the normal but with customer problems, they are atrocious and plain out rude. One employee put a customer on hold and then hung up on them while on hold. When they called back, he would not answer. They left a bitter taste from the trip.

The Hotel and the rooms are beautiful and very clean. Super sweet staff behind the counter but she told me last night on the phone my room would be $130 final including guests and my service animal and she'd also include breakfast which I was thrilled for.... I've since checked and I was charged $170! I waited in line at the "bistro" this morning just to be expected to pay for even just a coffee. I didn't get my breakfast like I would've got from a $80 room that I was told would be included. Highly disappointed. I guess I'll hit a gas station for a sandwich on my way out and I'll never be back 🙃

Despite the photos on their site, there is NO POOL. We're in the middle of moving and chose this specifically for the kids to use the pool. Very disappointing/frustrating. Changed out 9 day reservation to 2 and found another hotel.

Nice rooms. Does not offer free breakfast and I couldn’t locate complimentary coffee in the lobby as many hotels do; however the lobby is very spacious with lots of seating, so it’s perfect for groups to have games or conversation.

Not a happy camper. The parking fee is mandatory although enough parking space around. The breakfast situation is unaccaptable, not even a complimentary coffee. I had to pay a lot and did not even get what I wanted due to language problems. I will never stay there again.

Nice big shower with a rolling door. I couldn’t figure out how to get it to stay shut but it wasn’t a big deal. Lots of parking and good sized rooms. Room and beds were clean. Comfy beds. Would stay again. Great location by shops and restaurants.

Very easy to get anywhere, great location. The WiFi is fast. It's just that the room smells bad, maybe it's the carpet. Take the train to Florida today, the hotel is very convenient from the Lorton, Virginia train station, only 15 minutes.

This place is top notch. There's a restaurant in the lobby including booths with individual TVs in the wall. Huge "living room" type common area away from the entrance. The rooms are done so well and with quality finishings and materials. I'd move in if i could. Staff is friendly and professional.

Our shower didn’t have hot water for two nights but Karen at front desk had excellent customer service. She got maintenance to fix it and was very helpful.

I loved that the hotel was centered in the middle of everything you could possibly need. The customer service was great, and the bartender on deck was awesome. What I didn't like was the shower; the water pressure was too low, the TV was the smallest I've ever experienced at a Marriott, and the refrigerator was micro mini so we had to throw away food

Katlin night time front desk attendant is an Angel. I had been up all day and needed to find a place for the rest of the night. After calling other hotels that were completely booked. Katlin had a room and was able to get me a discount. Very kind lady and deserved to be recognized. Overall my stay for a couple of hours was great. Marriott hotels are always top notch!!!

What a horrible stay. The front desk was less than welcoming on my arrival. There was no mention of my elite Marriott status. They were not able to accommodate my floor request. I don't remember the last time I was on the first floor or was told by a Marriott hotel "No we can't do that". When I got to the room, it was old and dilapidated. You could tell the rooms are in desperate need of a renovation. The toilet seat was dirty when I came in and two light bulbs were out. There is also no safe in the rooms. Those are very basic things a hotel should be able to get right. The housekeeping team was also very disappointing. I had asked for a simple request and I was told "Sorry we can't do that". It only happened after I had choice words with the front desk. I really can't come up with any positive things to say about this hotel. I couldn't run out of the hotel faster on check out day! Take it from someone who has stayed there, do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

The Hotel itself is nice and and clean, and usually that would give it a few stars in my opinion. Unfortunately the inappropriate behavior of the staff nulls any advantage the decorations have. The staff’s behavior was surprising to me when they confronted me as a guest and told me that in order to keep up their image that I shouldn’t relax in the lounge area. That instead of relaxing I should make sure to stay seated in the lounge area and not recline. They also told me that I should not be in the lounge without a room number. Naturally when you go to a hotel, you should feel comfortable relaxing in the common areas provided, it was hard following that to do so knowing the staff was watching me so closely, which I found a little inappropriate. It makes sense should someone be unruly or disturb the hotel that they should be confronted. I have now stayed in this hotel a few times, and the level of customer service has been repeatedly low to include little accommodation for guest issues, and inaccurate information on hours of amenities. I elected to write this review because one or two isolated incidents are totally fine, but the trouble has become a pattern every time my family comes to town, and you as a potential guest, need to know.

We stayed in this hotel back in November, while coming to the area to look for a home because we would be relocating in the new year. I have been trying to reach the manager over the phone the last several weeks. Each time I call, I am given the run around on why she cannot take my call. In addition, I’ve had one person let me know they will check on my request and get back to me and I still have not heard back. On Saturday Nov 26th we checked into the hotel. We left shortly after checking in to view some potential homes. When we returned that evening we requested for 2 extra sets of towels (we are a family of 5 with 3 small children) One of the associates came up and told us they had no extra towels. We then packed our belongings and checked out shortly after. Not bathing with a clean towel was not an option for any member of my family considering we had been out all day. When checking out, we requested for a refund on our points and the front desk rep told us that the manager would be the one to do it. He assured me that she would get it done and put back in my account. However I have yet to see those points not even had a decent person return my calls/emails!

We had to ask 3 (three) times for soap! That’s ridiculous.. also the room wasn’t cleaned.. when my husband called the front desk, he was told we had to stay 3 nights to get maid service.. we stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and that adds up to 3 nights the way most people add! I will never stay here again and I should have been given some of my reward points back to compensate us for this visit!

The cleaning lady Magdalena threw all of my stuff out and checked us out without consent. We were going out to unload some of our belongings and come back to the place as a mess. She was super rude about it as well. Didn't apologize. The items she threw out were speciality non perishables valued at over $70. Completely ruined the end vibe of our vacation. I will never be coming back here again.

WATCH THIS LOCATION FOR UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES! I just noticed an unauthorized charge for $25.44 on my card I gave them for incidentals. I've stayed 3-4 times at this location and each time when you check in, they try and charge you for parking in the hotel's own parking lot. This time on 10/26/22, I told the male clerk checking me in that I would not pay this and DO NOT charge me for this nonsense. Today, I get a charge of $25.44 to my card and called the location to have this removed. The lady who took my call told me that this was a fee that was required by the corporation. I told her that no other Marriott has EVER tried to charge me for parking, much less actually charged me when I explicitly told them not charge this to my card. She then stated that then, this was perhaps an essentially experimental charge that they have been instructed to make. I have never been charged by any hotel to park in their own lot. Otherwise the hotel was.clean and what I expected in terms of the room. But I am shocked they'd have the audacity to charge this against and without my consent.

I am a Marriot Reward member and booking this hotel was a nightmare because the reservation agent had no clue what she was doing and i could not understand her dialect so I hung up and called back I wanted a room with bathtub but that wasn't honored I checked into room and had meetings all day. After returning to hotel exhausted, I just wanted to take shower since bathtub requested was not honored and then eat after a long day at 9:00p.m. Went to take shower only to find long black hair stuck to shower walls and along ledge of wall. I called front desk to let them know about the dirty shower and was told I could switch rooms which would require me to be majorly inconvenienced to pack my things up so late at 9:00p.m. to switch to another room that I hope was cleaned. I am disabled so to have to move rooms was more than inconvenient to me and even more taxing on my body. I originally planned to extend my stay but after tonight I think I should stay elsewhere which is even more of an inconvenience. I called Marriott corporate to let them know what happened and was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up. Called front desk again to switch rooms with a bathtub wuth no hair in shower! Front desk agent who was pleasant delivered key to new room. I switched rooms only to find out this new room doesn't have a bathtub either!!! Called front desk again to let her know about new room without bathtub. I give up and am exhausted an hour later at 10:00p.m. still not taken a shower or eaten dinner! SO DISAPPOINTED with this hotel!!!

When trying to check in the person at the service desk wouldn't open the door for me, had to wait for another person checking in. Once in the room there was a beeping noise that kept my wife up all night. The room was not great; lights were out, bathroom tile were cracked and shower curtain rail was broken. The only brightside to our stay was housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. The eateries near by are plentiful. I have traveled many places and this experience was in the lower half have places i would recommend.

The Courtyard Marriott in Potomac Mills did a great job helping us plan our wedding . Maria was so very helpful and all of the staff were so nice! They even offered a limousine service that came included with X number of rooms booked. They have a nice fire pit section outside too! Highly recommend this hotel for any wedding or large event.

Very nice place to lay your head. Staff was pleasant and the room was very spacious. Only stayed one night so did not get a chance to enjoy any of the amenities but we got a very good nights sleep. 💤

This location fell short of what we've become accustomed to in our travels. Room refrigerator was not much larger than a bread box. Some people request a room safe, not available. Continental breakfast, not here. Coffee shop, short hours or not open. No pool, didn't see a workout room. There's a small snack area in the lobby. Queen size beds were comfy. There is a desk for work space. Just a so so overnight place to lay your head.

I booked a double Queen room, and requested my usual extra towels, foam pillow and toiletries- from the list that was given to choose from for my stay. I got to the hotel, and was asked to move to a king size room? No explanation and no compensation. I was also told my room total was $279 but the manager came over, switched some things and it became $295… but wait- I was charged $340 for a deposit for a room that I didn’t even originally book and was denied the requests I made. My questions were answered with a stare and I moved along hoping things would get better and just ready to rest after my drive. I get to the room and it smelled like mold? I called , no resolution. I go to my event and come back to the room and realize it’s probably a chemical to get rid of urine… but then it dawned on me and because of my appearance- dressed down because I’m coming off the road, was given a junk room. Didn’t receive any of my requests however received an email the day I checked out to pick up the items from the front desk. I’ve stayed at Marriott in many different countries and states in the US and am appalled and disappointed in this stay. I was placed in between a traveling teen group that had chaperones knocking on doors all the time gathering kids so I kept jumping thinking someone was at my door. I will likely not stay at this property again as there was no coffee, no bottled water, none of the perks or even innate hospitality traditions you expect from Marriott. Also- the ‘Starbucks’ had bagels displayed in ziplock bags with a price tag if $6.25.
